    Wonder if Herrera will start anytime soon. Surely he will against Brugge on wednesday.
    I think Herrera is in trouble under LVG. He'll be glad to see the back of him as manager at this rate.

    I think Carrick has been rested rather than dropped. At his age he can't play every game and him and Schweinsteiger will be rotated regularly.
    Seeing as Schneiderlin is the midfield constant, It will be more BFS vs Carrick for that second midfield spot..Shweinsteiger if he gets into form will be very hard to uproot..and Carrick was removed at half time in the last game for "tactical reasons

    Solid line up, should win easy.
    I can't believe that after all this time Rojo still isn't near match fitness to be at the very least on the bench, I'm hoping he gets some minutes midweek.
    The subs I'd like to see today
    Hernandez --> Rooney
    Young --> Januzaj (Mata #10)
    Herrera --> Bastian

    He really is not messing about with the back four. Hope Blind continues to prove doubters (incl. me) wrong.

    Great to see Schweinsteiger given a start.

    Only shame is Mata on the right, any chance that it may be Adnan on the right...?

    Harsh on Carrick. I feel like LVG was slowly forcing him onto the bench after his performances. He does seem to find playing with 2 CDM difficult and doesn't always perform to his best.
    Not harsh at all. With our new signings he simply isn't the best midfielder we have anymore as evidenced by his recent performances. He's also the oldest. Was only a matter of time before he was benched.

    His performance was OK, surely can't blame the OG on him. More likely a knock?
    LvG said after the game that he's building up Schweinsteiger's fitness and had always planned to bring him on at HT in midweek. Starting him in this game is just a natural progression. Schweinsteiger's fitness is being prioritised over Carrick's form and match rhythm so if I was him I'd be pretty displeased about things at the moment.

    The reason Carrick isn't playing as well as last season is because we're not playing Herrera. He needs that player moving ahead of him finding pockets of space and creating space for the deepest midfielder. Schneiderlin doesn't do that at all. We're much more solid as a result but we're also much less fluid.

    Hopefully Schweinsteiger's got the extra quality and personality to change that.

    Huh? 0 points for predicting the full team.
    Seems to happen every week. Be patient, you'll get the points eventually. I also got 11/11. Picked Januzaj for my fantasy team so nice he's starting (Memphis captain).

    Not harsh at all, been garbage recently and the team has improved every time BS came on. Carrick is getting on and BS is simply the better player. No doubt he'll come on in the 2nd half.

    "You successfully predicted 11 players in the starting XI and substitutes, earning you 14 points in the Lineup Prediction League."

    Why do I get 14 points? Is it a bug? Where can I find the scoring system?

    No doubt a few people like charleysurf will come in and say he's the next Kagawa anyway. Still a bit baffled by it, as we don't create much and he would be a perfect link between midfield and attack that we lack sometimes. Glad Januzaj is getting chances though, but eventually Herrera needs to get back into the side as he proved last season that he's an important player for us.

    You get 3 bonus points for predicting 11/11. And a point for each substitute guessed.

    There should be team prediction rules button in orange or something at the top of the website.

    My Mum could've predicted the line-up today, no need to start jerking each other off over it

    Carrick hasn't been great and Bastian is obviously the better player. I don't think it's harsh at all, it's the whole point of having competition. It's healthy for any top team.

    The #10 in LvG's setup needs to be either the target man or the secondary mobile frontman, pushing up alongside and ahead of the striker as and when appropriate. Mata will never do that. He's much more suited to being the auxiliary playmaker from the right. The good thing about having Januzaj there is he rotates with Mata quite freely and picks good moments to do it.
