Fred, Mctominay, Weghorst, Pellistri, Maguire, Lindelof, Malacia etc are all full internationals, they should be able to do a job.I think we can have a front three of Wout, Garnacho and Pellestri in this game. I'd go with a midfield of Casemiro, Fred and Mctom.
Don't care if it's a league one side but that combo of Mc/Fred with Lindelof/Maguire makes me worry. I'd rather we go for a decent side, maybe with Mainoo/Pellistri thrown in, for this game and this lot of players for the Forest game.

A number of the rotation options should be desperate to play 1st team football so putting on a domin display should be paramount for them. We also need to build confidence and make them feel like they have a serious role to play. This game isn’t just about rest; it should be a squad harmoniser and proving ground.

Maybe but I’m thinking about the Barca games already. Losing against Reading would be dramatic ( but I think with the second string we can beat them as well)but winning against Barca could be a game changer mentally. I want the players 100% ready for that tie.
