Whisper it quietly but getting knocked out on away goals or penalties would be a blessing in disguise. Our squad is nowhere near ready to be playing all these games.
A Liverpool drubbing and a shock knockout to an average Spanish side would do mountains for our confidence

Could not care less. That today has taken a huge shine off this season for me.
You'll be fine once we get out form again. Since the Arsenal defeat, 9 wins and 2 draws before today. 9 wins and 1 draw before the Arsenal defeat after the Villa defeat. 7 wins and 2 draws before that defeat after the City defeat.

We respond to defeats very well with Ten Hag this season. It sucks that when we lose, it tends to be horrible performances... But we tend to go on excellent 10 game runs after. Next group of 10 or so will bring us somewhere around Chelsea home or Spurs away... So let's be ready for a defeat there

The league for me it’s always where the importance is and it’s just always going like this now. Do well, come up against a test away and fail time after time. Sick of it.

It's not like this is some unique test. We've gone through plenty of big tests and done very well. We're never going to come through all of them. If as a team you can regularly go on 10 game runs before a defeat, you will likely win trophies very regularly. Which is what the target ultimately is.

And the league this season isn't #1. Once we became comfortable in top 4, the priorities this season clearly shifted to all the cups. With good reason. Football is about winning trophies. As long as we finish top 4, which there is no reason for concern yet, then just need to keep it up in the cups.

We need to bounce back quickly so a win here is a must. If we’re able to win this trophy as well then no one will give a shite about the trouncing we’ve just received.

Time to remove Europa as a priority, fixture pile up has caught up to us.

    Except we lose it.
Have to hope that EtH gets a reaction at home or season could quickly unravel.

Sadly, this season will forever now be the one where we lost 7-0 to the dippers.

The Liverpool games are everything. Losing 7-0 is unforgivable.
No they are not. Good to win but I would rather win last weekend than this weekend. I won't remember this if we finish the season strong, small club mentality to care about stuff like this over everything else.

There’s no way we’re responding to this in the way Sir Alex’s teams of the past have. You don’t recover from a 7-0 mauling in a few days.
    Betis are licking their lips

We lost our Europa League match right after our 6-3 loss to City. Let’s see how ETH react this time.

That finished 1-0 to the referee. The actual football match was a draw.

    De Gea
    AWB - Lindelöf - Martinez - Malacia
    Casemiro - Sabitzer
    Pellistri - Sancho - Garnacho
    Weghorst

I'd keep Bruno and Rashford fresh for sunday.

Win this and beat Southampton on Sunday and we'll be fine.

This will be tough, William Carvahllo will have his usual worldy and boss the midfield. They beat us pre season also which is obviously just pre season but they have quality on the ball like most Spanish teams. Definitely be bringing in AWB for Dalot and hopefully Antony and Weghorst get dropped for Sancho and Garnacho. Sabitzer deserves a start also.

    go for 2-1

At home against a good (but hardly elite) side, I hope we bounce back. I can see both Malacia and AWB in for this one.

I desperately want to win the Europa League to wash out the taste of today's humiliation and because winning the trophy is what would really make the beautiful night against Barcelona that much more significant.

On the other hand, we're knackered and running on fumes already. If we want to stay in the top 4, we might be better off getting knocked out because the squad looks shot. And this will be another tough battle against a team that is better at ball retention than we are.

Let’s play with fire in the belly, guys. Anything less than 16-0 is unacceptable.

Joking aside, I’ll take a 2-0 win. With no injuries please.

Need whole sale changes after that or well lose the squad when players can perform like that and keep their place.
Drop all defenders bar Varane, Sabitzer and Casemiro midfield with Sancho behind Garnacho, Rashford and Elanga.

Hoping for something like this. I think Bruno and Shaw should be dropped after their antics in the second half, but we'll see how EtH handles it...
How it's possible to hope for Antony in the team after today is beyond me

In all honesty, we should be beating Betis. They're a very ordinary team that I'd rate behind the likes of Fulham and Brighton, nevermind the big 6 clubs in England. A 2-0 win to take into the second leg should not be beyond us. Main worry will be the combination of fatigue and low morale from today's game. But in terms of ability, we're a way ahead of them and should be able to show it.

Bruno, Rashford and Shaw looked knackered today and should be rested. Anthony, Weghorst and Dalot were frequently mugged of possession and were lethargic off the ball.
It'll be interesting to see the reaction from the team v betis. It better be fukn good.

This is a difficult one for ETH. On the one hand he needs to rest (or punish) key players or we really will hit a wall. Bruno, Rashford, Casemiro, Varane all need a week to recover. I think 3 of them are carrying niggly injuries too.

But unfortunately their replacements are simply not good enough and we will be in danger of losing to Betis at home. And that really will bring the season to crisis.

He's going to have to trust Sancho, Sabitzer and Maguire to get the job done here, although it will be a difficult watch I suspect as we're not going to be able to look after the ball at all.

You don't lose 7-0 because of fatigue so let us stop this bs of let throw away this cup. The only way to get some redemption is actually winning one more trophy at least. We are 3rd and it will take a monumental feck up to finish below Liverpool so let us not over react and try to win FA cup and europa

Looked so sluggish and error prone today the tends to happen with tired bodies and minds.

Will be achievement in itself to claim a win against a side in decent form including a draw with Real Madrid tonight.

The first 11 should want to play here after that. And I think Erik makes the majority play. I think we’ll go:

    De Gea

    AWB
    Lindelof
    Martinez
    Malacia

    Casemiro
    Fred

    Antony
    Bruno
    Rashford

    Weghorst
