May have to go with Mctominay and Casemiro now that Bissouma will join Bentacur and Hoijberg in the middle for Spurs. Don't think Eriksen is fit but I'd be tempted to drop Bruno if he is and bring Bruno back in for Chelsea game.

Can't see how we are going to score enough goals to get three points. Anyone notice in the squad for the game, we've got more goalkeepers than goal scorers...?

Big test for Martinez and Varane - pass it and they will be a permanent fixture, if they aren't already

Spurs aren’t without their problems but they’ve at least got a world class front 3 even if Son isn’t in form. This aside, my main concern is the lack of goals we’re scoring, unless we’re given free kicks on the edge of the box and Fernandez is focused.
Expect Varane and Martinez to be heavily involved and de Gea kept busy. Perisic will need to be closed down.

We could be in for a difficult evening but what's the point in being Manchester United if you're not up for these games?

Spurs are the worst kind of team we could play against. Their game is to sit deeper, let the other team take the initiative, and then be lethal when the opportunity presents itself. And they have been lethal. On the other hand, we’ve shown we are completely clueless when having to dictate the game and when it comes to scoring. Give away possession in a bad spot, like we are wont, and we will play right into their hands. Conte also has a point to prove after the club snubbed him last year. Richarlison and Kulusevski are out, so that should make things easier, but my expectation is still a comprehensive Spurs victory.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
Them not having Richarlison and especially Kulusevski is very good for us. I see 2 attacking threats (perhaps 3 with Perisic) and I don't think that'll be enough to hurt us unless they can catch us on the break a good number of times. If Kulusevski was fit then I think between him, Kane and Son they'd have had enough to be a consistent threat and have the quality to make more of the breakaway opportunities the likes of Omonia and Newcastle couldn't take advantage of.

    I'm going 0-0 or 1-0 to us.

Not confident tonight but let's see what happens. If we don't win either game remaining this week then top 4 will be very tough for us. We need to win one of them to stay in there.

Why though? We already have 6 points from our top 6 rivals, I can’t see why, say 2 draws would rule us out. It would be a very respectable total imo

Hoping we score a few but then we are playing against the team managed by the guy who was so desperate to get the job after Ole got sacked. Expecting a (low) score draw

Already feels like a must win to have any chance of top 4. Anything less and we were in a better position last season after 10 games.

McT will probably come in for Fred, assuming Eriksen isn’t fit enough to start. Rashford probably in for Ronaldo.

Tough game tonight, going for 1-0 for us, Fred on the scoresheet.
Just don't let them run, Dalot.

Think tonight's lineup is the easiest to predict for a while

    De Gea
    Dalot
    Martinez
    Varane
    Shaw

    McTominay
    Casemiro
    Bruno

    Antony
    Rashford
    Sancho

Ronaldo, Fred, Eriksen (if well enough) from bench

Rashford needs his shooting boots on today and to be fair he is usually up for it in these big games.

Difficult to picture us scoring more than 1 to be honest. Spurs are a better side than Newcastle who we struggled against. Really could do with a win to ease the pressure a bit against Chelsea.

On the train up now, 3 tins deep, proper buzzing for tonight! Could see win/loss/draw all happening, but reckon it will be close whatever happens, probably no more than a one goal margin.

Side note - I’m staying in Manchester tonight so if any locals could help me with a couple questions about the party scene please DM me, thanks!

The next two rounds are quite important to get points imo. Lose both and Chelsea also beat Brentford and that is 9 points off Top 4. Dippers will also likely be ahead of Utd as well as one win will take them above on GD; although I expect them to win both of those with the way West Ham and Forest are atm.

Obviously top 4 wouldn't be gone, it would however start to look a little tricky.

Sancho or Ronaldo, one of those two for the drop for me.

Tough game, Spurs can blow anyone away on their day so it's going to be a battle.

Of course losing both wouldn’t be ideal but they’re not must win games just yet. The entire point is because they still play each other and to get 2 draws so 8 points from the first half of the season v top 6 is a great return.
As long as we don’t lose both it shouldn’t have that much of an impact. Win both and we are somehow in a title race imo

They can be deadly on the counter, luckily Richarlison and Kuluševski are out, but if given space Perišić can hurt us. Not to mention Kane and Son. Losing possesion in tricky areas like center or closer to our goal should be avoided at all costs. Dalot, I'm looking at you!

Can see both teams being quite conservative here and seeing the merits in a draw.

If I had to predict, I'd go for another 0-0

Nothing but a tight game. If we score first we can nick it.

    Draw is no disaster.

Hoping for a win but expecting either a narrow loss or draw. Hopefully Eriksen is well enough to be at least ok for the bench. McTominay back in for Fred & Rashford for Ronaldo.

    DDG

    Dalot Varane Martinez Shaw

    McTominay Casemiro

    Antony B.Fernandes Sancho

    Rashford

Dubravka, Lindelof, Malacia, Iqbal, Fred, Garnacho, Pellistri, Elanga, Ronaldo

    Manchester United 1-0 Tottenham

Ronaldo’s going to start. His record against them is insane.

This is going to be a tough game for us. We need to somehow get an early goal, if this stays 0-0 for too long you just know our players are great at bottling it and Spurs will inevitably get a goal because they have a really good front line.

Can we get a goal off a corner please? Ronaldo, Varane?

I've slagged Spurs off so much under Conte, but honestly I fully think they'll beat us  :nervous: they're setup perfectly to do so. Disgustingly negative, with actual threat that does the job on the break from just a few chances. I am dreading it.

Hopefully Martial is fit, Fred is nowhere near the starting lineup, and Rashford is at it.
Yep they’ll set up in the manner which we struggle with against the most. A deep lying 5 at the back with 3 in front with 2 dangerous forwards. We’ll most likely fall right into their trap and get caught on the break.

You can pretty much guarantee that Spurs will get a soft penalty and we'll get consistently fecked over by VAR.

When was the last time we had a VAR decision in our favour?

I can barely remember the last time one of CBs scored - even harder to recall a header from a corner
