Yes unfortunately, with RvP up top instead of Falcao I imagine. Given we are at home I'd love to see a risk like playing Pereira in midfield and Rooney up top, but it's highly unlikely.
Be a great reward with him signing a new contract, but as you said, it's highly unlikely.

Fair enough. Either way, I think we should have enough to see off West Brom.
I hope so, no doubt LvG put a rocket under them this week as he was not pleased at how lackluster we were against Everton. My worry is the slow forward line will be slower than ever and it wont be easy to get in behind a defensively well drilled Pulis team.

That's true. Recently, against Chelsea and Everton - two teams that have defended deep and narrow against us, we have really struggled to break them down and create chances. For this one, we should probably think about going with width on both flanks, in order to try and stretch them and maybe look to whip some crosses in, as I can imagine it'll be very congested through the middle.

I agree, I know he looks well below his best and low on confidence but I'd be inclined to play Di Maria on the left and move Young to the right, he'd give us an injection of pace and could stretch West Brom to create some space.

Ye, as good as Mata has been, he lacks that pace in the wide areas and cuts in too much, which can sometimes close up the space for our midfielders.

Definitely, if LvG wanted to still play Mata then risk him in Fellaini's role, move Fellaini to the #8 and push Rooney up top. Whichever route LvG goes pace to stretch West Brom on the flanks is essential I think, I just can't see us passing through them.

Ye, well last time we played West Brom, we went with Mata and Fellaini (Herrera taken off at half time) as our centre midfielders, so it's definitely an option.

Shaw's out again? Sigh... Stick Young back there, and let Di Maria come back in.
Meaning Blind can do the Carrick role so we don't completely ruck things up.

this would be my team also....Herrera really impressed me against Chelsea in that role, i thought he wont good but he was(apart from few 2 terrible passes in dangerous area).

Di Maria got into the team of the year in that position.

Fellaini will be slightly inside left, with Young creating the width. He'll sit in the hole between midfield and defence causing problems as usual.

If Carrick, Rojo, Evans, Rafael and Shaw are all out then......

Bench: Valdes, McNair, Pereira, Young, Januzaj, Van Persie, Falcao

Special note: Valencia is lucky boy that we don't have currently another right-back in the squad.

I reckon we'll see Di Maria in for Mata, and possibly Mcnair for Valencia. There would probably be more changes but for the injuries.

I'd really like to see a Di Maria - Rooney - Mata front 3 for once though. In theory, that should be our best 3. But Young has outperformed Mata in the 2 defeats, so going by LVG's logic, Mata will the one to make way.

It would be nice to see Di Maria getting into the starting eleven though. Would be interesting to see if he would take the opportunity to show us that he belongs in the starting line-up.
Giving him 20-15 min in a game doesn't seem to work out.

So I'd put Di Maria on instead of Fellaini.

Teams in knockout phase next year as things stand:
    Sevilla/Valencia (Same points)
    Monaco
    Bayer Leverkusen
    Roma
Fenerbache/Galatasaray/Besiktas (Top 3 are all on 60/61 points so could be either)
    Sporting Lisbon
    Celtic
I think Celtic and Monaco could be trouble if we finish 4th. Others, mehhh.

I have some fears about this game after getting sucker-punched by Everton last week, but were at home where we have the second best record i think so hopefully we will turn up and get the win.

Great, Rooneys been injured and back in the team. He'll have his usual shocker after injury today.

Need to smash these after the last couple of weeks.

So I'd put Di Maria on instead of Fellaini.
One thing about LVG - he does not care how much a player earns, cost or what how big his name is.
Ribbery was shocked when he was introduced to this process, at Bayern.
If a player doesnt fit into the system, he wont play.

The last time Di Maria started, he got a red card and effectively ended the (FA Cup) tie at Old Trafford. He isn't going to be rewarded for that.
Since then, our team went on a very good run of performances without Di Mara.
A combination of these factors have kept Di Maria out.

Now, after our poor performance at Everton, it is quite possible that Di Maria will get a start today. I think its 50-50.
But to replace Fellaini - our most 'hard to play against' player - that just wont happen.

My only worry about being so reliant on Fellaini is that it seems that if you stop him, you stop Man Utd. Chelsea and Everton marked him out of the game and basically, we were done for.

Its quite surprising that fans are scared of a team several places below us, at Old Trafford.
I expect an easy win; we usually score 3 at OT, so that's what I expect today.
Have some confidence guys and stop with the negativity. We are paying WBA, not Bayern Munich.

Di Maria has to start. Would love LVG to take the risk and start Pereira. We should still be able to win comfortably.

It'll be difficult for him to get back form after a long stretch out.

Excited about this game because I anticipate next season we will be facing a lot of parked buses, teams conceding possession to us and drilling themselves well trying to counter with a long ball and pace up top to exploit our high line.

I hope there are a lot of positives, we need to be very patient in possession but also intelligent pulling the opposition out of position and stretching them across the pitch to create space to attack whilst preventing the counter attacks.
