My first game as a steward is this match, I'm jealous as you guy's will be able to actually watch the damn thing.
I am going, but I'm not sure where I'm sitting as my ticket has been swapped with someone else's. I am not always a good-luck charm at our home games, but I would really hope we can win this one.

So Rooneys back fit as is Jones and RVP

But Evans and Shaw are injured, man everytime this kid looks like he's about to pick up some form he's injured again, I'm not so worried yet but thats not good for such a young man, hopefully next season he has a better start.

I've been predicting the correct 11 near enough every week recently, so here's this week's shot based on LVGs press conference.

    -------------De Gea--------------

Valencia --Smalling -- Jones -- Blind

    -----------Herrera----------------
    ------Rooney-------Fellaini--------

    Mata--------------------Young

    -----------RVP----------------

Please, no Rooney in midfield. Play the only natural midfielder we have in this position and replace him with Di Maria. Herrera playing deeper and Di Maria to link the play with Mata next to him could avoid too many losses balls from ADM.

And Shaw’s injury record is getting more and more frustrating. We had Evra for 8 years who was never never injured, and a young guy comes in an play two game and miss 5… Such a pitty

    ------------------------------------------De Gea------------------------------------------
    Valencia-----------------Smalling-----------------Jones/Mc Nair-------------------Blind
    ------------------------------------------Herrera------------------------------------------
    Mata---------------------Di Maria--------------------Fellaini-----------------------Young
    ------------------------------------------Rooney------------------------------------------

Thanks mate, been to OT once before, the Real Madrid 1-2 defeat back in 2013.

Just got back to hotel from the MegaStore, spent like :houllier:

Don't know where but there has to be changes from the last match. The Everton performance was shocking.

That's the only glaring flaw you spotted in that midfield? :p
You'll know of course that McNair has been converted from a midfield player & compared to Carrick by the United staff & you'll have noted against Chelsea how comfortable he was, at bringing the ball out from the back.

Against WBA, a backline of Valencia, Jones , Smalling & Blind, with a midfield two of Herrera & McNair, with Rooney in front & with Young & Di Maria in wide positions & with Falcao up top, should be enough.

Only Southampton and Chelsea have kept more clean sheets than these lot. Hopefully we can get an early goal to settle us down, if not then it could be a struggle.

Now we know Rooney is fit hopefully LvG can come up with a selection that avoids having to play RvP or Falcao.

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Jones Blind
    Rooney Herrera Fellaini
    Di Maria RvP Young

I think we'll see a different Blind. Seems a bit more imposing at OT.

LVG is desperate to put Rooney in number 10, I just know it. With Fellaini getting taken off on Sunday against Everton, wonder if he'll start Rooney as a 10 with Falcao or RVP as the 9?

I would personally stick with the team we played against Everton. Well, if Jones and Carrick are fit they'd go straight back in, but other than that, I don't think one poor game warrants a place on the bench for Fellaini, although he wasn't the only one.

    My team would be:

    De Gea
    Valencia - Smalling - Jones - Shaw
    Carrick
    Mata - Herrera - Fellaini - Young
    Rooney

Hopefully the line up will be

    DDG
    Valencia Smalling Jones Blind
    Ander
    Mata Rooney Fellaini Young
    RVP

I thought Ander did well in the Carrick role against Chelsea. Although Rojo at LB and Blind Ander Rooney up the middle is possible too, as said I'd prefer RVP in the strike role, plus I think we need someone to do some work along the edge of the box because West Brom will sit deep and what where I think Rooney is best.

I must say though. The Young/Di Maria situation is getting a bit worrying. Di Maria has been out of the team for a long time now and Young although competent really isn't in blazing form like he was.

Carrick isn't fit mate and Shaw is injured, LvG confirmed at the presser today. So Fellaini will play and Rooney will probably be the #8 like against Chelsea.

About damn time we thump a team 5, 6, 7 nil. Let that be West Brom! Hehe.

Hope the lads get fired up to rebound from last week's poor display at Goodison.

Of course, ye. Just listened to the press conference. Why Rooney in midfield, though? Can't Blind go CDM, with Rojo left back, or is he injured too?

    Oh, right...

Are you guessing that it'll be the same midfield we fielded against Chelsea then, with Herrera, Rooney and Fellaini?
Yes unfortunately, with RvP up top instead of Falcao I imagine. Given we are at home I'd love to see a risk like playing Pereira in midfield and Rooney up top, but it's highly unlikely.
