matic has looked very comfortable at CB, I like how Donny has worked hard but have to say I'm surprised Ralfie has made so many changes in only his second game

Mata is shit, seriously why the feck do we waste minutes with him? play Hanibal or Iqbal, any youngster really. Waste of space and wages.

Amad has had some great moments and some sloppy ones. Clearly a huge talent. Should have had two goals, was hesitant for one, and didn’t receive the ball from Greenwood for an open goal tap in (Mata chance).

    Greenwood our MOTM despite that.

That was a terrible half, just lot of sloppy passing and sloppy touches. Lingard and AWB are useless on the ball, both needs to leave. Fecking criminal how the ball just bounces away from most of our players when they're trying to control it.

AWB was strolling around miles out of position before and when they scored.
Cant stand looking at this little shit. Playing like he thought he is prime Maldini. Worst player in the pitch. His touches and passes are always garbage. Get him out asap

Poor football mixed with brilliance from Greenwood, but guess we can’t expect better from a bunch who don’t play much.
    Lingard has declined.
    Matic sloppy.
    Mata finished.
Donny isn’t really good at stepping forward when he gets the opportunity, is he?
Except for a good tackle and a good block from Bailly, the defence looked poor and unorganised.
Well, we saw one or two positive glimpses from Shaw.

Jesus our team is made up of players who haven’t kicked a ball in the last month and kids...we have been fuking awesome all things considered...I have seen full strength Utd sides struggle to dominate this type of team under Ole/Mourinho. Goes to show how far basic tactics go.
I agree, it’s being massively overlooked by a lot of people on here, remember our first team couldn’t do jack shit against YB in the first meeting (yes, we all know about the red card). Yet the 2nd stringers have been good, bar the last 10 mins unfortunately. Should have been at least 2-0 up when we were still cruising.

The fact is that a player receiving a pass usually moves towards the ball, not moving at all because he's not anticipated it made the pass look far worse than it actually was.
This, Lingard is playing very loose, not just that instance but others as well.

We got complacent and it spread. I agree with Drainy above. Players aren't moving for the pass. We saw this with Donnie's pass, and we saw this a few times when we could have scored the other end.

Bissaka's been comically horrific. Usual sleepwalking mentality, jogging back, zero engagement in the the game.

I'd play Dalot on attitude alone, but fortunately he's also a much, much better right-back.

100% Donny's fault. Could have easily cleared it but the whole team became complacent
Disagree. He had his back towards the opposition half and was given a very strong ball by Matic. What he did was arguably the only option he really had.

Well VdB made a mistake but check the whole thing, Matic pass to VDB, dunno what was that, then guess VDB making pass towards Spiderman but he clearly cant be bothered and they scored.

Matic is a dm playing as a CB. DVB is an AM playing as a lone midfielder. This team looks so disjointed and it's not surprising because they are playing out of position and they have never played together for a long time.

Was sloppy by Van De Beek but he had his back to what might be coming while Matic was looking forward, should probably have played it to Lingard. Good finish though in fairness.
yep not sure matic should have passed that to him there. couldn’t see behind him and got pressed from the side so had to switch it quickly.

matic should be clearing it properly Imo

The pass was off target, but not that much. Only looked like it because AWB wasn't even trying to get to it. He could've easily reached it if he was alert enough.
Not saying that it wasn't Donny's fault, but AWB had a part in this one
Wan Bissaka was in no position to receive a pass.

Wan Bissaka isn't getting his place back. Given his general attitude tonight I don't think he cares either.

AWB is terrible with the ball.
Really worrying for him. I think Dalot clearly ahead currently.

Btw I have never been able to stand him, but I’m all here for Robbie Savages proud moment of having his son on the bench and potentially seeing him come on. Pure stuff.

I've almost never heard this word used in real life, yet on this Forum, everyone's at it. it's almost like a spelling bee:

    Use Egregious in a sentence.
To be fair I rarely use it myself, and i'm not sure why I decided to here. Maybe some subliminal osmosis by virtue of hanging around here too much.

    Use 'osmosis' in a sentence.

Don't paint them all with the same brush. Mata has mostly been good, 2-3 misplaced passes but he's not played in decades. VDB has kept things quite composed. Greenwood has been very good. It's the wide areas that have been problematic.

VDB is awful in this game. Can't play a 6 to save his life. There's been free real estate all game round between our midfield and defence. Won't judge him too much based off of this game though. He's a 10.
I think the problem is that he's being asked to cover the whole midfield without a partner. Mata has been the bigger problem imo. I think he'll look better with Matic alongside him.

A team full of kids and past it vets in a weird formation with Maya and VDB playing as CMs, Matic as CB. One training with Ralf. Playing amazing football. Should have been 3 up by 35th minute.

pandemic really affected people, I guess

I don't think we've been anywhere near as poor as some people here are saying. we are zipping the ball around much quicker and finding each other way better than a few weeks ago and I like the fact that the boss is out on the touchline the whole time
