He and Cheech should leave probably really.
Kagawa wants to stay and fight for his place. I respect that. If Mata plays like he played in the last two games, I'm sure Kagawa will get his chance sooner rather than later.

I'd play 2 reserve or U21 midfielders, can't be worse then cleverly and fletcher.

We could also execute plan B and kidnapp vidal and make him put on a cleverly shirt and hope nobody realises it's vidal :)

In any formation i'd imagine Di Maria gets to play there then or Januzaj even.

He'll ride the bench a lot and not even make the bench at times if he stays. Pointless for him.

I'm alot more excited for this game than our league games. Hopefully we'll see some positive football and the likes of Januzaj, Rojo, Wilson, Zaha, Powell, Lawrence start, or at least feature.

So is Rafael fit to play? Why wasn't he even on the bench today? If he is not I would start Varela on the right and James who deserves his chance on the left. Then Januzaj and Wilson/Welbeck up front. Kagawa as CAM, Pearson as CDM and no idea with the rest. I wouldnt certainly play Cleverley/Fletcher.. but going with Pearson and Rothwell could be quite risky for Van Gaal. It couldn't be worse then Fletcherley IMO.. and CBs? One of them will be Keane and the other I could guess Rojo (the work permit can't take that much time) and Evans? Maybe Jones will start as senior player who seems to have the biggest stamina from our team. But going with Keane -Thorpe - Rojo, James and Varela on the wings, haha but than why not

    Janko - Keane - Evans - James
    Januzaj - Pearson - Powell - Welbeck
    Kagawa
    Wilson
    Bench: Amos/Rojo/Smalling/Herrera/Rothwell/Valencia/RvP

I don't see us fielding an U21 side like some of the posts here are suggesting, LvG will probably gives games to Wilson, James, Januzaj and hopefully Rafael.

No idea about who will play but why was it scheduled for only 2 days after a league game?
Would like to see Lindegaard, Wilson, Rojo (if cleared to play), Rafael (if fit), Evans (ditto), Kagawa (if not leaving), Welbeck (ditto).

Lindegaard seems to be on his way out. Struggling for a buyer it seems. I'd start Sam Johnstone

I hope Rojo and Welbeck are the oldest players on the pitch from us on Tuesday. The kids can't do worse than what we saw today!

Wilson to start and stake a claim for a place in the first team. We need his movement as RVP and Rooney are too static and Welbeck can't score.

Play two or all three of cleverley, young and fletcher so we don't have to see them against burnley.

Quite looking forward to this. Always like seeing the early cup games that mixes the reserves with the first team, also another reason why I really disliked what we did in last years capital one cup, despite making the semi's.

I don't think it'll be packed full of kids. I wish we'd see Rothwell, Pearson, Powell, etc all at once but just can't see it.

Our kids and second string will play a strange game called football, without fear, and win comfortably causing all our fans to ask silly questions like "should such and such start for us in the league?"

No thanks. Play the youngsters or ANYONE else, Fletcher is awful, absolute garbage and he shouldn't play for United again. That performance against Sunderland was horrific.

EDIT: Just noticed you said 'no cleverley please', yet want Fletcher to start? Did you watch the Sunderland game? Cleverley was miles better than Fletcher, who put in one of the worst performances I've ever seen from a midfielder in the PL.
