That was pretty embarrassing. Not seen a team dominate us in that fashion for some time.

It’s only one nil though . SU might be made to regret not scoring again as we can’t be that bad in the second half....can we.

Our midfield by the way

The problem is the back 3. We're being pushed back easily (especially on the left), and that means our only out-ball is in central midfield rather than fullback. That normally wouldn't be a fatal problem, but for the fact that central midfield isn't good enough on the ball.

I'd swap Garner for Jones and Young for Williams. Then move to a 4-3-3.

Maybe Lingard for Pereira at some point, but ideally we'll keep that last sub open for the Greenwood option.

there's hardly a player out there that I wouldn't sell. sorry but rashford and martial are never going to be top-class strikers. midfield would be lucky to get a game at bolton

We can lose but there’s no excuse for not picking up our performance and at least starting to compete in the second half. It’s inexcusable for Ole and this group of players to be bullied away from home like this.

We have no midfield. Simple as that. And it is beyond belief we did not invest there. We are lucky McTominay has shone in recent games but what is left is amateur hour.

Pereira should be nowhere near our first team. He is simply not good enough. So many passes to the opposition. And it should be a given that you can actually pass.

No matter what the result today, if we don't go for Poch after this we are utter mugs. The timing is absolutely perfect for him to come in. We won't have this kind of opportunity again. Sometimes you just have to pull the trigger.
It's hard to expect anything logical from the current leadership (Ed and co.).

Pretty much a championship side. Unbelievable how they're greatly coached like that, while we're giving excuses for our manager for not having X and Y.
Not really surprising. This a team of players that are putting a shift in because it's the biggest season of their careers. We play like we're in a huff over being dragged away from parties, PR deals and social media

There’s a serious problem when our “youthful and pacy’ front three can’t remotely trouble a 37 year old Phil Jagielka in a back three. They’ve identified our weakness in the middle and destroyed us, we identified a weak spot and told him to put on his slippers and have his easiest game of the season.

I hate to say this, but it’s easily one of the worst halves of the post Ferguson era. An exhibition of everything fans hate to see in their team. Terrible passing, terrible work rate, terrible strength, cowardice. You name it. An atrocity of a performance

I am 100% sure we have the worst midfield in the league. Outrun, outpassed, outclassed by Sheffield United. Sometimes i wonder if any of our players has any shame. They can't have.

Whatever happens with the situation around who manages the club, our midfield needs a 100% upgrade. Not a single player besides McTominay is anywhere near good enough for this or any other PL club most likely.

Worst half this season. We badly miss Mctominay. Ole really needs to go. We don't do anything in attack and totally lack good movement and combinations. Also we don't even press well as a team.

    Absolute shambles.

The most annoying is how predictable it all is. Seriously, how many of us didn't expect this to happen.

We need a proper manager. Chelsea have a young manager who is able to have more of the ball away at City. We have one who has us getting battered against Sheffield.

Martial can’t even control the ball the entire half. Bloody idiot. And some on here don’t want us to buy a new striker just so Martial keeps his place:
If Martial is given space he can be lethal. Mark him tightly and he loses Interest. Never going to be the answer

Every player bar De Gea has been an embarrassment. If we don't win, Ole better resign for his own sake because it's going to get very ugly.

No issue with the signing, but we needed a midfielder. 80 million on a CB when are short in other areas is poor management from the whole club
The two players Leicester bought, the Turkish cb and Tielemans cost only 64 million. 64 million two players are playing better than anyone we have now.

Is Ole the worst manager in the league? I'm struggling to think of anyone who'd do a worse job than this.

We’re so far off the top 4 it’s incredible. It’s clear we’re not making it if we keep Ole in charge, and especially after the effect a new manager had last season it makes me wonder if the board will pull the trigger with Poch available.

so poch is fired, emery is prob gone soon. Wonder how long ole can last being behind both those teams still. He is molding this team into what he wants, and apparently he wants crap because that is what united look like under Ole. Mid table team at best that just sits back and hopes for magic from a disjointed front 3. Amazing how much better lampard has chelsea looking compared to united. Oh well nice to see new teams like sheffield and newish team like leicester doing well.

Anyone who thinks this is down to 'injury' or 'no midfield' is just blind. There are teams in League One who play better than us.

The scoreline is harsh on Sheffield United. They should easily be 2 or 3-0 up. We should count ourselves lucky that we're still in this match.

The quality of their passing and movement is on another level compared to how we perform those tasks. As soon as we have the ball, two or three of their players are on us and we're being closed down. They've made it seem like they have 15 or 16 players on their side. Why is it that there are so many other sides that we have come up against this season who can pass, move and create chances better than we can? It's a personnel and a coaching problem, and a major one. We don't look like we have a plan.

For all the bullshit about youth he chose to go with Pereira in CM instead of Garner. If he doesn't change it at halftime and get Garner in there......

Sorry that's a foul. As shit as jones is. I bet you if that were us our goal wouldn't have stood.
It was definitely a foul - compare that to what Liverpool got away with yesterday

Absolutely pathetic, but I wouldn't expect any favours from the officials.

Having said that Sheffield deservedly lead. They have absolutely battered us and should be 2 or 3-0 up.

This is one of the worst performances I've seen in my lifetime. I don't think that's an exaggeration.

Was willing to give him a chance but this is actually just embarrassing. We are well and truly a mid table team where one game we win the next we easily lose. High press my ass, Ole does not know the meaning of it. He keeps saying it needs time, in the one year he has been in charge he has taken us from possibly a top 6 to a top 10 team. Does he need time to take us to relegation? These players are clueless and if he made the decision to not sign anyone, he needs to go. It was clear in the summer how bad we needed players, he has taken the high road nad suggested the money was there. Ole out, Poch in and we can possibly save some dignity this season.
