Will be a very hard game, Swansea are looking real tidy right now. Surely by this time the De Gea shit will be sorted??
Even if the DDG saga was sorted, I wouldnt play him.
Why break up the meanest defence in Europe.
We have conceded 1 goal in 5 games.

If the park the bus, then it could be difficult to even get 1 point here.
But if they attack us, I don't see us losing.

Romero, Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw, Schneiderlin, Mata, Herrera, Memphis, and Rooney should be nailed on to start. Only tough call is Carrick or Schweinsteiger IMO. Will probably be Bastian as he'll likely only play the first 60-70 with Carrick replacing him anyway.

    Romero
    Darmian Smalling Blind Shaw
    Schweinsteiger Schneiderlin
    Mata Herrera Memphis
    Rooney
    ---
Johnstone; McNair; Carrick, Fellaini, Young; Januzaj, Hernandez

Reckon we'll win 1-2 in a tough game, Rooney to score again.

Like the line up but would definitely switch Herrera and Mata especially considering Herrera could help more with Montero if needed.

I wouldn't play him because it would be harsh on Romero who's done a decent job. De Gea needs to prove he wants to play for United and work himself back into the team.

If he does, our defence will look fecking excellent.

Embarrassing to be saying this, especially when 2 of the games were against Sunday League opposition in Club Brugge

I'm feeling the Shelvey 'wonder-strike', but only in the 90th minute when we've been 2-0 up all game and get a bit lazy, giving him the room to do it. Those wonder goals always have as much to do with the defending team not closing down properly as they do with any sort of 'unstoppable brilliance'.

God, teams used to produce them about once a week against us in Fergie's last seasons when we were in our 'just let them back us into the box and don't bother pressing or making a tackle' phase. Inevitably, the commentators would come out with the old 'well, there's nothing you can do about a strike like that, is there!' chestnut. To which the answer was always 'yes, you fecking can, just don't let a massively inferior team wander around with the ball on the edge of our penalty box unchallenged!'

They won't be parking anything, they will attack and press.

It will be a difficult match which everyone knows. I would take any win but it would be nice to build on the Brugge performance with another good one.

    Romero
    Darmian-Smalling-Blind-Shaw
    Schweinsteiger/Carrick-Schneiderlin
    Mata-Herrera-Memphis
    Rooney

subs: Johnstone, McNair, Carrick/Basti, Fellaini, Januzaj, Young, Hernandez

The hardest decision was whether to play Carrick or not. A real dilemma but a good one to have. I thought he was good tonight and good when he came on vs Newcastle, but I feel we need a more defensive option in Schneiderlin.

That has to be our strongest attacking and defensively balanced lineup

the only possible change I could see might be Young for Mata if he wanted to freshen things up

I think Carrick and Schneiderlein will start.....got to keep an eye on Shelvey who has been excellent so far

Don't think Swansea park the bus.
That is exactly what Monk did last time they played us (or that's how I remember it). I think he did it at the Emirates too and Wenger wasn't very happy with it.

    -----

    Romero
    Darmian Smalling Blind Shaw
    Carrick Schneiderlin
    Young Herrera Depay
    Rooney
    That would my choice XI.

You can only beat/defend against the teams put in front of you.
And if you exclude Brugg and use only the EPL games, that's zero goals conceded. Even better.

I doubt they will park the bus, they are at home.
I hope you are right, but don't forget: Chelsea parked the bus against us, at Stamford Bridge, when they saw us beat Spurs, Man City and LFC (last year).

Very worried about this game, not confident at all. Swansea have had our number for a while now.

Going with a 2-1 loss, hope I very wrong though. Just think this will be by far our toughest game. We have struggled for goals in the league and Swansea did the double over us last season so will be confident. The pace and control over the ball will cause our back line problems especially Blind who has been very decent until now, just feel this will be the one that ends badly especially if Shaw gets caught up field often like he did against Brugge and leaves him exposed.

I'd play Carrick and Schneiderlin with Herrera in front. All other positions the same.

This game will be more of a test than anything we've faced so far this season. It will be interesting to see how we cope and it should tell us plenty about our prospects for this season.

Interesting to see who plays at #10. Will be Herrera or Januzaj.

Amazing how the team picks itself at the moment apart from the #10 role and who partners Schneiderlin out of Schwein and Carrick.

I'm nervous about this game, but I reckon our defence and midfield can pull through. Memphis and Rooney's chemistry is getting better and better, so I'm sure we'll score.

Hate playing against Swansea. Not just because they're good but because a lot of my mates are Swansea fans so it's a touch painful to lose to them.

That'd be my team too. The thing with Herrera starting as 10 is that it gives us a bit more possession control in the middle while he can still move the ball quickly and create chances when we're attacking their box.

As long as Darmian, Smalling, Shaw, Mata, Herrera and Memphis start I'm not too fussed about the rest.

Since the 4-2, we always have struggled against them results wise. I dont expect an easy game, hopefully we can win this.
