Rooney is Suspened. Herrera as a defensive midfielder?
    Just What I was thinking.

On another note, those nine days can feck right off! ...It feels like we hardly ever play these days, which is really frustrating with the type of players we now have playing for us. Last season I hated the idea of Europa, but I really wish we'd finished sixth now.

    Eh?
We have one game a week, there's no way Di Maria needs resting at all.
I disagree, starting Di maria would be a risk imo with the travelling and international games. Also as long flights the jet lag will be present.

I personally would bring him on after the hour mark give him the last half hour.

Di Maria and Rojo are back in Manchester on Wednesday so i really hope and think they're okay for a match 5 days later

Think us playing on Monday is a blessing in that regard. Gives them enough time to recover.

Surprised that so many are putting Jones straight back in. With LVG always saying players can be fit but must be match fit I can only see him getting 20-25 mins or so. LVG also said something along the lines of it being the senior players job to oust McNair after his good start so I wouldn't be surprised to see him start again. Probably depends on whether Rojo plays which I think he will. Otherwise Jones next to Blackett seems more realistic.

Wasn't van Persie thrown straight back in when he returned from injury though?

But it was mistake from Louis against Sunderland.....he was so far away from fit
I'm not saying it was the correct decision. I'm just saying that van Gaal apparently will throw players straight back in.

Van Persie was supposedly fit for Swansea but LVG said he held him back as he wasn't fully match fit. He did then go back into the starting line up and came off early rather than brought on as a sub late on so Jones could do the same I guess.

McNair is injured (hamstring). Happened during the last few mins of the Everton game. Out for 3 weeks.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Specifically because it seems sensible to give Jones (or whoever's fit again) some game time before the big games.

Di Maria went to Asia for Argentina's friendlies, didn't he? That's a pretty long flight all together. I wouldn't risk playing him after that. I know I shouldn't be saying this, but its WBA. They have been shite this season. We should be able to beat them even without Di Maria. Don't risk it

He's not the worst player to be able to bring on against a tiring defense either.

The game is on Monday night. Plenty of time for Di Maria to recover from jetlag. We can't afford to drop any points and WBA away isn't any easier than Sunderland away, Burnley away, Leicester away, Swansea home. Astonishingly, we've lost 10 points to those aforementioned teams already. We can't lose any more. Di Maria, as our best player, simply has to start.

They could go level on points with us if they win, so they haven't been that much worse than us. itll be a tougher game than you imagine and we need to get a good run going so I'd definitely play him. We can't afford to be resting our best players at this stage.

I used to travel back and forth between LA and Egypt a lot… The jet lag never hit me when I travelled West, it was always when I got to Egypt when I would suffer. Same when I used to travel between East Asia and Egypt, always worse when you travel East (in my experience anyway). Hopefully Di Maria will be fine. Plus, these guys travel in much more comfort than most of us.

We should have 5-6 players back for this game according to the physio room, although I doubt any of them will be fit but its a good sign, if we can get Herrera back for this game I can see us winning it which will be a big three points before our clash with Chelsea. Bit off topic but I don't think the Chelsea score will set us back even if we get hammered but the good news is after that game we should have almost all our squad back and fit with a bit of luck, exciting times then!

Apparently so. There goes my lineup prediction :)

Sounds like Jones is closest to being ready which is good as he was looking good before his injury. We really need him to have an 8-10 game run uninterrupted at centre back before the transfer window opens.

Still have faith he can be become one of the world's top defenders but this is an important period in his career and he needs to be playing.

Start Januzaj replace with Di Maria around 60-70mins depending on score and team performance
I wouldn't be opposed to that I don't think. That means Januzaj would get a game as well. Let's see what happens, such a long wait though.

the fixture list is kind to us... Argentina play in the early hours of Wednesday morning so I don't see how it will be an issue for Di Maria or Rojo....

I'm looking forward to this - will be a more testing game than the Everton one but I feel Falcao is going to take off

I don't think it's such a big risk to play him. He plays in Hong Kong on Tuesday and WB is on Monday - plenty of time even with the long flight.

Everton had to fly to Krasnodar, which is also a pretty long flight, but didn't have problem to play there on Thursday and against us on Sunday. That's 3 days less than ADM and Rojo will have even if the flight is a few hours shorter.

Bollocks to all this rest business, we've got a sparse enough schedule to start the best available week.

    I'd like to see,

    DDG

    Rafeal
    Smalling (Jones if fit)
    Blackett
    Shaw

    Blind
    Carrick (Herrara if fit)
    ADM
    Mata

    RVP
    Falcao

According to physio room we should be getting a few back.

P McNair Hamstring Injury no return date
    A Herrera Fractured Rib 26th Oct 14
    C Smalling Hip/Thigh Injury 20th Oct 14
    J Evans Ankle/Foot Injury 26th Oct 14
A Young Groin/Pelvis Injury no return date
    P Jones Hamstring Injury 20th Oct 14
J Lingard Knee Injury no return date
    M Carrick Ankle/Foot Injury 20th Oct 14

Don't know why we bother with line up predictions anymore. It'll simply be our best 11 out with the amount of games we play
    DDG
    Rafa FitDefender Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Herrara Di Maria
    Mata
    RVP Falcao

Enough cover for the defence in my line up. It's imperative that we win this game. We have to go into the renties game with our heads high. 0-1 United (Falcao)

This looks a lineup to face Chelsea not West Brom.

It's disappointing that Herrera is likely to miss this but I'm craving the return of proper football after these dreary Internationals.

Fletcher has been poor this season, but if Herrera is out then I'd rather Fletch played than throwing in Carrick or playing someone out of position. I know it'll slow down our passing a bit, but we have enough quality going forward and can make a change if needed. However, it will probably be Fellaini as he's fit now...

    de Gea
    Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Fellaini di Maria
    Mata
    van Persie Falcao

Assuming one of Jones/Smalling will be fit to start and Carrick will make the bench.
