He may not be Beckenbauer on the ball, but he's always been a very good defender when he's kept busy. Problem is that we don't want our defenders to be kept busy!

To an extent, yes. He has said some bizarre things, and there is no doubt that he could have handled things much better, but a lot of things have been skewed and exaggerated for the sake of news stories.

I mean that a lot of the disharmony in the club has been fuelled by the media, and that has massively affected our performances. I don't really see how anyone could argue with that?

Defensively, we have been an absolute disgrace. I can't understand how international defenders can look as lost out there as Lindelof and Bailly. Their positioning is just woeful. Smalling might not be the quality of player that is going to win us the title, but he's a damn sight better than...

In my head, pay-to-win is more along the lines of offering an advantage that can't be gained otherwise.
