I'm not sure you get it. This isn't really about Hernandez but me being baffled at how you perceive something being portrayed by the media. I'd like Hernandez to be here next season because I think he's the best backup you can get (assuming he doesn't want to leave). We could have used him last season and we can use him next season. Last season Real also used him when Benzema was injured and he did well. If he wants to leave and goes, so be it. That's doesn't mean he's disrespectful. You see a few quotes that are 7 months apart and accuse him of always mouthing off.

In Mexico Real Madrid is nr. 1. Naturally he wanted to go there. "A dream come true" is a cliché but it's a cliché for a reason. When you are a kid and your dream is to be a professional footballer, you dream that dream with a certain club or clubs in mind.

He didn't bemoan his time at Madrid. Again, you're letting the headlines fool you. He was asked a questions and then an article was written around it with their own context and none of the questions. The question was most likely something like "were you happy with the playing time you got at Madrid" and he answered as expected. He said before going there that he didn't expect to start but that if gotten the chance he'd prove himself. Meanwhile we look at Madrid and see how much Bale played despite not performing and understandably he's disappointed because he doesn't feel like he got a fair chance. When played he did well, better than Bale. He tried and nothing came of it. That's it.
Sigh, you just don't get it.

It's not the media that is fooling me at all, I am reading his quotes directly. This isn't some tabloid rubbish without quotes from the parties involved. This is Hernandez giving his opinions on the situation. Whilst I agree it is cliche to say its a dream move he still continued bemoan how little game time he got at United and then moved to a club where he most likely knew he wouldn't get game time. If he truly cared about game time he would of went to the other club and played.

"He didn't bemoan his time at Madrid" - Yes he feckin did
I had to warm the bench a lot. My time in Madrid was massively frustrating because I did not feel important.”
That is whingey for me, I'd prefer a player to be professional and get on with his game and prove himself on the pitch.

Chich is exactly the forward we need next season, between him Rooney and Wilson I'm happy.

@Snow is correct. He's not "hitting out at Real Madrid" nor has he "bad mouthed madrid".

He's said nothing wrong really. Praised the club he went to and after it didn't work out expressed disappointment. Football fans are a sensitive bunch.

Basically you get carried away by reading quotes.

Sir Alex Ferguson - "Phil Jones can be the greatest ever united player".

Fact is, as far as attitude goes, and "proving themselves on the pitch" I'd to ask @Vato how hernandez's attitude really was on the pitch, which is what matters. I felt it was spot on whenever I saw him at the fag end of the season. He was running his ass off for every ball.

His mistake was actually in the club he went to and not in his attitude.

It was a stupid move to him to join them anyway, his heart clearly ruled his head. The lad needed to play regularly.

He would have been even more stupid to turn it down

Not many players would, give up on an opportunity like that and At least towards the end of his time out there he did prove himself again

This for me is far more frustrating that any transfer story this summer. Here we have a proven goalscorer, I wish Utd would announce intentions to keep him next season. Business done

It was an odd career move to make as he really needed a club which would make him the main man so he could get back on track for Mexico aswell as for a club, but like Randall says, it's hard to turn Madrid down when they're interested. He'd probably be a good option for you to have still as a rotational player but he's 27 now and hasn't been the leading striker since before coming to United. He should really move as it's becoming a case of last chance saloon for him.

Vital next move for him. He needs to pick somewhere where's he's an almost certain starter.

I still think he'll leave this summer.

Hernandez needs to accept that you can't have both - be a regular starter and play for one of the 'big' teams. It's either one or the other. Tbh I thought he was more intelligent than this. How Sir Alex kept him happy as a super-sub is beyond my comprehension.....man needs to get an honorary PHD in psychology....

Sir Alex rotated really well. If you look at Chicha's starts, you'll see that he started a fair amount of games under Fergie; enough to keep him satisfied, in addition to the fact that we were winning titles. It was Moyes who completely screwed Hernandez over by giving him under 10 starts in 13/14, that too, in a season where we below par throughout.

I feel bad for him. Those saying it was stupid move from him are clueless. He was told he was surplus to requirements by van Gaal, which was followed by the opportunity to join Real Madrid. Who on earth would say no to that? I'd have questioned his sanity if he didn't move to Real, last summer.

Yes, when Benzema was out at the end of the season he really impressed me. If that period had come much earlier I bet he would have had a much better season.

Yeah I don't mind that energy in our squad next season at all, if we can't get a quality striker in. The energy he gave your team was pretty great IMO. He was like a striker version of park in that spell. Superingly creative as well.

Falcao has gone, assuming we get a new striker that means three first choice forwards including Rooney and RVP if he stays. The trend is to have four forwards so there could be place for Chicharito.
