He's beaten the defender more than Lingard has this season in most games. Which is a good or a bad thing depending on how you look at it.

He's arrogance when with the ball is a breath of fresh air in a defense full of bambi's on ice.

All those people saying we could play him at RB; let's not repeat the mistakes of the past that we've been so fond of making and actually play people in their proper bloody positions
I think we're so used to defenders like Smalling with little technical ability that the moment people see someone able to pass and dribble with a ball, they think he needs to be used in a more advanced position!

Nice little bit of play in the first half when he got forward and looked like a prime Messi / Robben with his left footed shot
His handball was crazy, but didnt see replays, (thought it was outside the box).

^ Yeah, he's quite poor in handling high crosses too, poor heading accuracy.

I enjoy his appetite in attacking, he showed much effort plus more importantly risk bravery to beat players leading to chances which somehow our attackers are afraid to do this season.

In the future seasons, once our CBs situation is good, aka once we got quality CBs I would like to see Bailly play at RB sometimes, the position which he can showcase his defending and moreso his attacking capabilities. :devil:At CB, he's limited to just defending.

Need to control his temper better though, not to throw that fire away, since in the long run, it's costly, like missing the final.

Nope nope and nope.

In future seasons, we should hoping when he has cemented his spot at the first choice CB, we want to play in a style where we aren't afraid to be pro active and take it to the opposition; we will need Bailly's composure and ability to play it from the back. That would help massively in breaking down lines and get our team pushing up.

Right now our defenders basically don't leave their area, whilst all the defensive shape and work is getting done by our midfielders and attackers. It probably explains why we cover one the least amount of distances in the league and why our attack is so sh|te i.e they're fecking tired and have too much responsibility looking over their shoulder rather than keeping the opposition guessing.

Fair enough.

That would be like Bailly being given the license to bomb forward from the CB position, causing unpredictable disruptions to the opponent's defensive shape :smirk: similar to what Ferdinand often did under SAF but less adventerous. Bailly is more agressive in attacks, and actually in the early part of this season, he did bomb forward :D hilariously several times in many games. Love it. Like that one when he took the ball away from Valencia on the right then bring it forward sticks to my mind.

Actually I think Mourinho does give the permits to our CBs to go forward whenever appropriate in the current primary system. Often I see Bailly, Rojo and Blind attacks forward from their deep CB position when we're dominating possession in the opponent's half.

Feck, hope we don't have another sick note on our hands here.

Doesn't look too promising with all these small injuries and recurring knee woes.

Get him off. It might be the end of his season but the way he's going he'll miss the start of the next one too.

I worry about his lack of self preservation if I'm honest. Love the commitment but needs to be smarter with it.

:DLove his commitment and that last-ditch slide tackle on Zaha.

Still, have a good break, at the rate he's going with his aggressive-throw-body defending playstyle, I'm worried his injuries might pile up and it'll affect his later older years of playing football.

Does it matter really? Vidic may not have a top flight career as long as Nesta but he's still a legendary Center Back for what he does.

A beastly defender who has turned out to be a very, very good signing. A few more signings like that and we'll soon be competing for the title.

Just a simple worry, before Bailly reach that level... big injuries (often from accumulated small injuries) could ruin career.

Vidic's wasn't the same after his big shoulder(?) injury, still that good of a defender mind, but he unwillingly collected that injury after he have established himself at the top level as one of the best CBs in the game.

He has to be considered a success so far, especially having lost time to that nasty mid-season injury. With another season under his belt I'm convinced we'll have an excellent player.

He shows fantastic commitment but as you've said it could start costing him. He's at his best when he remains composed.

The part where he flicked the ball over the strikers head then volleyed a first time pass to the midfielder was

was an ACL torn in a Champions League match against Basel or something like that.

One of the first names on the team sheet. Big loss against Ajax. Those kids would know they were in a game if they came up against Bailly.

But hopefully he has a good break this summer and comes back to a new partner in crime, given that Rojo probably won't start next season either and no guarantees he'll return to the form he showed pre-injury.
