I've started those already, find squad battles really easy so will manage those ones fine. Rivals will be a grind though with the 7 First owners though.

Got untradable De Gea and Lenglet in the 2 rare gold player pack you get from winning 25 squad battles games... my luck with packs has been insane this year.
Finished on 17 wins, so improvment on last week. Hopefully can push for 20 next weekend.
On the objectives, I don't quite understand why the WL doesn't count towards rivals objectives like last year. You earn Rivals points through it but nothing towards objectives.
With the Icons, what is the recommendation, save all swaps for the more expensive players or pick up 2 or 3 icons?
I was thinking Schmeichle (6) + 1 (thinking Keane 15) or Schmeichle, Nesta & Pep (23 in total)

It’s still unplayable. EA are the biggest pieces of shit in the gaming industry, I wish they’d just be shut down.
442 with two CDM’s is my go-to at the moment. Perfect for getting wide to score goals, then have your 2 CDM’s sit nice and narrow when defending.
Hit Gold 3 with 11 games to spare, don’t think I can be arsed pushing on further. Just gonna spend a little time trying to gather a few more of the Icon Swap cards. WL is just not my cup of tea, so props to anyone who can smash their max amount of games.

Doing the Gold week 3 objective is a bitch. Ihad to have silver forwards that cant score and the worse part is I'm playing against really bad players but they have OP mismatch teams. So frustrating
I've done the same this week. G3 and then stop playing... the input lag, 45/90 minute BS, all park the bus and counter-attack shit has really frustrated me. Shit game.

Haven’t played Ultimate Team in years because I kind of lost interest in grinding and just played online seasons/against friends for fun.
Kind of interested in trying out Ultimate Team this year so just how bad is it, is it an absolute grind fest where you need to play 6 hours a night and have a grasp of capitalist economics or alternatively sink £100 in the game to get anywhere or can you as a casual player still get somewhere with the mode and get a half decent team?
Was dedicated to the mode for the first few seasons then completely lost interest. I can’t be arsed to start again and spend weeks with a bronze team getting tonked by spoilt 12 year olds with Messi/Ronaldo/Maradona up top.

I only play casually and just build up slowly, you'll put together a competitive team within no time if you play like an hour or two a night plus do weekend league when you get entry. The game will chuck you a bone now and then with pack luck or good player picks. Later in the game they release so many cards that you'll be packing good players regularly. Just be smart with who you buy and work towards a plan of how you want your team to look.
Also listen out for investment tips to bump up your coins now and then. Do the basic and advanced SBCs ASAP, they're giving out good players in the packs. I've played about 30 games on squad battles so far and have about 550k just from packs, which I'll spend when prices come down or invest.

I've already done a few ICON swaps. I cannot see how I can do the 3 rivals wins with 7 first owned Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 & La liga though. I have a few untradeable, from Serie A and La liga but they are dreadful so I honestly can't see how I'd scrap 3 wins with them.
Is It best to just spend every penny you have on to get a full ok team from that division and then sell it once you have the 3 wins? I have about 80K, is that enough to get a team that compete?

I played a friendly game and eventually won 3 - 1 after ET but it took 54 shots to get there. Could not get it to cross the line to save my life. His keeper made 33 saves.

Havent noticed any big difference. I think it's just people play the shit out of it early on and then get annoyed at repetitiveness which inevitably comes in. Especially in the WL. I'll only do it to get the 9 wins for the icon swaps card, but not worth it. It's not fun to play that much over a weekend (with all the games being such a grind fest).
Have 8 of the icon swaps cards so far. Working on the first owner Spanish league and first owner bundesiga league wins, and then will need to do the WL once for the 9 wins and then hope for some usable cards from the French league since I only have like 3 players from that league.

SBCs are a new addition since I stopped, are they really worth doing? My understanding is you go and buy a team, then trade it in for a pack; which just seems like a massive risk?
At first was going to go for Giggs at 9 but hasnt been hard to get the cards at all. Will depend on the 2nd half of the swaps to see how doable they are. Right now planning for Keane at 15. Don't think any of the attackers are worth it (in terms of looking for a long term staple in the team), so I'm thinking more of going for a defensive guy (Keane/Rio/Roberto Carlos/Zanetti). Always spend big on my attack and change that up, while I go for a functional defence anyway so might be smarter.
I haven’t played in awhile as I’m playing through last of us but I was reading on EA forum Those icon swaps have ruined the game for casual players as if it wasn’t bad enough for us anyway because the better players in division 1/2/3 have relegated themselves down the divisions to match against easier opponents In order to achieve them quicker.
there’s no doubt fifa is not a casual players game anymore it’s fully catered towards UT and hardcore win at all cost players.
Im the same - ideally want Keane but the leftovers at 9 tokens are poor - Giggs/Okocha/nesta/schemichel/Guardiola. Giggs weak foot puts me off but ill probably settle for him and have a run at Keane next.

Yeah, thought about Schmeichel but then got untradeable De gea so no point there. Probably won't go out of my way to get all of them though. Will likely just get the 16 for Rio (thinking hes the best option) and leave it at that.
My normal level is professional, had a go on WC there and it's stupid. Their GK turned into fecking neuer/De gea/schmeichel all rolled into one... It was fecking karius.
Also they don't seem to slow down on WC, constant sprint without losing stamina.
Only lost 2-0 but feel proper robbed. Over the top, volley over the shoulder for their first from about 30 yards then chasing the game and they get a perfect cross and header (think I've managed that once in about 50 games)
