The offensiveness of a racist gesture can't be mitigated on some sort of 'ethnically appropriate' and/or contextual basis. Racist gestures are offensive absolutely, not relatively; pulling the face that that bloke pulls would be offensive even done in an empty stadium. I think it was more he was saying that the guy was stupid for mocking a race that wasn't on the pitch rather than saying it was better that he mocked a race that wasn't on the pitch
Develop 'stupid', then - would you consider him less stupid for mocking someone on the pitch who had the ethnic background he was apparently mocking? That sort of 'fine tuning' gets swallowed up by the bigger and more damning stupidity of choosing to make any gesture in the first place. It's making a pointless distinction.

I was referring to my fellow travelers. I saw people not use the restroom even once during a 15 hour flight. Others did not open their masks at all - even to eat food. Me and my wife were constantly emptying bottles of hand-sanitizer before touching anything. Airline crew had masks on at all times and it felt like we are inside the Resident Evil game world. Everybody had a grim face as they weren't sure if they would be allowed in. A few people were turned back from the airport because travel restrictions were put in place on their route while they were in transit to the airport.
At O'Hare I have heard about massive queues for virus testing where travelers from Europe had to wait for 6-hours straight though I got saved from that ordeal as I did my US pre-clearance at Abu Dhabi and landed as a domestic traveler.
