This is huge news, but I'm a tad worried about the outlay on him and how this will affect our spending on midfield and CF in the future. City will probably end up with Haaland which is a better deal.
I think the same. It basically means we have to win now and I'm not confident that will happen, I had hoped we would continue to build a team properly (maybe a midfielder and a striker next summer while looking at potential keepers) but instead this is now throwing everything at winning in the short term.

Yesterday a staff member of this site wanted his legs to be broken. What a meltdown this thread has been.

Imagine an attack of CR7, Bruno, Pogba, Sancho, Rashford and Greenwood.

And then you have Matic and Fred behind them

I'm not sure quite where Ronaldo fits into our squad, I have concerns about our wage structure and should we really be signing players at 35 when...

Ah who am I kidding! It's f**king Ronaldo! I feel 16 again, not been this excited about a potential transfer since like, Nani and Anderson :D
Exactly, Ronaldo returning can only be a huge boost for the supporters, the players and the whole club! I was devastated to think he might join city knowing as he does that he is idolized by United supporters. To have one of the greatest players to ever lace on a pair of boots is one thing, but when that player is Cristiano Ronaldo!!!!!!!

Watching him in United shirt again will be buzzing. What a feeling. Old Trafford will be rocking in his first game.

My great grandpa once told me : There's time for the brain and the other for the benis. This one is for the later. Stop thinking and join in the fun.

City: "I find you very attractive, would you like to go out with me m'lady?"
Ronaldo: "No thank you"
City: "lol you're an ugly slut anyway I never wanted you"

The level of cope is off the charts.

Oh come on. The post you quoted was me listing players who can cover LWF or CF. I was making the point there's plenty of depth. Then you said the specific players I listed aren't forwards so I provided examples. Now you're changing the goal posts. Be consistent.
There is no depth in the position he plays. We currently have Greenwood, Cavani who isn't able to play and Martial who is a waste of space. Ronaldo makes sense emotionally and tactically..... You're either deluded or a poor attempt at winding people up.

Haaland is not 100% to join us. That snake will sell his client to the club who is offering the most money as agent fees. We wait and if Haaland decides to go somewhere else we are fecked.

Enjoy the signing now and worry about that next year .

We aren't a well oiled machine. We are a team of individuals who are painfully inconsistent at playing cohesive football.
The current Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the worst players you could put into that mix. I can guarantee it would be a disaster.
I always feel a club that is confident in its sense of direction isn't distracted by these things. Let City have him. We need to continue building as planned. Fans are the ones that are emotional, the club should be above that.
I am inclined to agree but then he might be more clinical in taking the chances we do actually create plus his movement is like Cavani only he scores more so basically an upgrade on Cavani

Is anyone actually pleased that this is happening?

We don't need a 36yo Ronaldo. If he tarnishes his legacy by going to City, so be it. Why do we have to offer him a retirement home?
Put him in that city team they will win everything this year.

Why would you want that?

This should not impact our activity elsewhere at all. We are spending like £20m to sign him and putting about £15m per year or so on wages. With the PR boost he will bring we are probably going to make that back in revenue. He can basically replace Martial in the squad for now.
