In his ‘prime’ he got about one goal in every 5 PL games. I am genuinely floored if we sign this shit racist cnut. Its not even a little loan like Ighalo either we are going to pay money to sign him when we’ve had all summer to rebuild a squad. Got the likes of pogba and jlingz out to bring in this racist and a mommys boy

Its a sick joke
The market for strikers is a pretty poor one right now. However, when I want a haircut I don't ask the barber to chop my head off.

Where do you draw the line, though? Should we recall Greenwood? Maybe Mendy could also do a job?
Yeah of course not. Not getting dragged into an arguement I’m not even making. My point is clear. I don’t count isolated insults about someone’s race as meaning that person is a blatant racist…just ignorant. As long as he has apologised (he has) has been sanctioned (I’m sure he was) and has not made a habit of it (not to my knowledge ) I would just say he is thick as opposed to a racist.

Anyway, back to the football - cheap plan b…no issue with the PL…knows ETH. Nonissue.

If he's the one demanding those players, questions need to be asked
Your right! If he’s demanding those players, questions do need to be asked. But if he isn’t demanding those players, then that is even more concerning!

Either way, someone in a meaningful position at the club is coming up with some absolutely terrible ideas

Didn’t want him purely on his ability & age.

Now it also transpires that he’s a massive racist & misogynist too? You could barely make it up. If this is the player Erik is pushing for them questions have to be asked. Especially after stressing all summer that we have to find the ‘right players’.

Seeing a player like this turn out for us would make me feel sick. I absolutely would not support him in any way.

Then how about this one? https://syndication.bleacherreport....ic-called-me-a-nigger-ibrahim-kargbo.amp.html

Does this make it a habit? Being racist once can be a misunderstanding? But twice?

If he's a stop gap squad player in addition to signing Sesko but having to leave the latter on loan at Salzburg for a year, then it becomes slightly more palatable. Slightly.
besides all the issues with the person. a 3 year deal isnt stop gap. We will be left with a usless 36 year old probably on good wages

Well hopefully it's a 2 year deal plus an option of an extra year. In that situation, we use him as a squad player this season, he's largely redundant the year after and we don't exercise the option.

United reaping the benefits of Moyes' genius again, we wouldn't have found our stop gap striker if not for him.

If we're this desperate we should be hijacking the Werner deal or something, not in for this clown (and I still don't believe we actually are)

He's a cnut who will be 34 this season and wasn't anywhere near good enough in his prime. We are ran by morons.

This can't be true. Simply, it can't. From 100 strikers around we are really pushing for 33y old average striker? I would understand if it was some world class striker but bloody Arnautovic? Bloody hell

I see a Newcastle last year like season
Yep, something like Newcastle or Leicester. A couple of injuries to "key players" and we could be looking at an Everton like season. Or am I going OTT here? ;)

How many stop-gaps can the ST position take in 5 years? Ibrahimovic, Ighalo, Cavani, Ronaldo and now Arnautovic?

Last striker under 30 that we signed was literally Martial. 7 years ago.

 Incredible. Leak PR about background checks, attempt to sign a racist and a player whose agent is an absolute demon. Profit
Their PR guys just aren’t that sharp. I can understand Cavani and the Ibra signings, even Falcao. But this….

I know he was forgettable, but Lukaku was a striker...I think.

If we bring this guy and Rabiot in over the next couple of days, then get tanked at Brentford, the Liverpool home game is going to be very interesting. Again.

Our strikers post RVP have been as follows*:

Arnautovic (33)
Ronaldo (36)
Cavani (34)
Ighalo (30)
Lukaku (24)
Ibrahimovic (34)
Falcao (28, but he literally came off the back of a huge ACL injury)

* I wouldn’t even count Martial, he was a left winger when we signed him, no?

I can't remember why I joined this war.
So not only does no one on the caf want him and thinks he is too much of a trouble maker to be worth our time but no, even he doesn't want to come here. This transfer summer is just one giant shit show from start to finish.

This is a target that even our likely rivals this season like West Ham wouldn’t go for at this point.
