Yeah, obviously someone knew, my question is more about what do you mean by done?

Do you mean it's guaranteed we're getting sold or that it's actually happened but not publicly disclosed yet?
Just a hunch, I don't think someone goes that big with the purchase order unless they know for sure it's done.

Beckham running the club with Saudi money is a depressing idea

It's definitely going to be Dubai, they have been waiting years for the right opportunity to come up and no better or bigger then Man Utd

Yeah that’s why we need a country / state or someone like Bezos who can take the hit and not actually worry about it, the likes of Ratcliffe would either need to dump a good portion of their personal wealth or need to be backed by investors who would want a slice of our profits at some point.
Who needs Jeff Bezos? His ex-wife will do. She has been throwing money at lots of non-profits, who not United then?

Really needs a poll of 6 or 7 options to actually see what posters think? Instead of 1000s of pages in multiple threads.

One poll that rules them all.

How about not being bought by a fecking country in the first place.
I had put that in a different response. If the opposition is to being state-backed irrespective of the country then it's fair enough, but if tomorrow Norway comes in to buy us, I doubt you would see the same push back from many on here.

If it was a State Owned fund yes, if it was private no.
That's fair enough. I am not sure about the LGBTQ laws of all countries but I just wanted to point out that singling only Dubai out for it is wrong as many other societies which are more liberal have similar laws in place.

"Other potential buyers could include private equity pair Josh Harris and David Blitzer, and another group led by basketball moguls Stephen Pagliuca and Larry Tanenbaum, who were shortlisted to buy Chelsea earlier this year."

That trumps the oil states sport washing agenda for me, which I did not think was possible.

I thought it comes with being a miserable cnut
There are tons of posters on here who seem to revel in misery and it's so tiring to read.

You can see it when a Utd win gets a post match thread of about 15 pages say, but if we lose it gets double that. We could win the title and there'd be people in the celebration thread worrying about if we'll retain it the following year.

Whoever buys us won't be an angel and it's something to think about, but feck me it looks like we're finally getting rid of these vulture cnut owners the Glazers. Lets just enjoy it for a little while for feck sake.

if Amazon bought us would we be the wealthiest club in the world?
It could be bad for our club. Amazon is a public traded company. Thus, share holders could do everything to get the value out. We don’t want that.

Dubai all the way. They would make the club a success quickly just like they have made their city.

Jim...Jim...please buy us. Get the Glazers out for us. PLEASE. You're a United fan and would be brilliant for us.
Glazers put United up for sale.
Oh fukc off Jim. You're not rich enough for us, seemily a bit of a cnut and you're making a mess of Nice. Oh, and you're too old and liable to die on us soon.

Got to love football fans.

Absolutely gobsmacked that even this amazing news has still been met with negativity. Some on here will literally never be happy, this is proof.
Abuse Maguire
Abuse Sancho
Abuse glazers
Abuse any new potential owners
Stick up for Ronaldo

All in a weeks work for some on here

They don't need to know that a sale is done. Just knowledge of the announcement of impending sale/ beginning of sale process is enough. That's enough to raise the share price, enough to make the options go ITM.
