You think so? I believe Nagelsmann and Klopp are very different. Klopp's team are much more organized and less erratic
Yes I think so. But as I don't rate Nagelsmann that highly I would just say, I don't think they do implement their philosophy on the same level :smirk:

The social media power wasn't half of what it is now, it's impossible to keep things as such a secret for months now.
He told the club in November so it clearly is easy to keep it a secret.

That's a shock and although he said he told the club in November the timing of making it public is a bit odd.

Liverpool have been lucky with him will be interesting to see how lucky they are without him now

My first instinct was the Germany job for the next World Cup. Said he was tired but international management is a lot less intense.

It’s just incessantly negative. Alonso is now the new messiah I assume and there’s literally no one who can touch him..
Oh I don't disagree, I think the hysteria surrounding him is well overblown. I just think that if it came down to a tug of war between us and Liverpool for him, he'd almost certainly opt for the latter, namely because of his past affiliations, coupled to the fact they're just a better run club at the moment and in better shape.

For those crossing fingers about him coming to Utd.....it'd take Saudi type dosh for him to be even remotely tempted.
He is adored at Liverpool so anybody thinking he'd absolutely destroy that by coming here must be absolutely deluded.

I honestly don’t get why you would announce this now, wait until May. It could become one hell of a distraction for them
Not necessarily. He announced leaving Dortmund early also and they played a strong second half of the season. They even qualified for the Europa League despite being rock bottom around December.

Bayern and Heynckes is another postive example. Pep's arrival was announced early and the team did everything to give Heynckes the farewell he deserved.

Has Sky Sports News gone to black banners for him?

The next few months are going to be insufferable

Let's hope he doesn't pull a Fergie 01/02 and change his mind.

Hope all is well with him in his personal life, but it really puts into perspective how Fergie kept the energy and hunger to achieve what he did with us.

Agree. Would be funny as feck though, let people have a giggle at the notion.

Wow this was a shock. It’s going to be interesting who goes there. I’d bet on Alonso. Going to be easier for city now though as Liverpool were the only team that could go head to head with them.

Given the pressure and coverage of Premier league these days I'm not sure Fergie could have. its clear standards around the club were already falling in his later years.

He says he thinks he will never be a manager again, and 30 seconds later says that he will definitely not manage another team in the next year.

Can't stand the man but I hope he's alright and it's not a health thing.

Having no energy for it seems like the kinder way of breaking some godawful news perhaps.

It's good news for us of course but you don't wish ill on anyone.
In the interview he explicitly says that his health is as good as it can be at his age.

Gutted and shocked

best manager in the world

clearly burnt out as well, fair play too him

I don’t find it bizarre timing at all either, let the fans know, so we can absorb this last piece of poetry from one of Liverpools greatest managers knowing it’s the last few month of having the great man in the dug out

Xabi up next Alonso please
