At the risk of derailing this thread, why is it that populists have gained popularity specifically?
Unchecked capitalism is running wild, which increases the gap between rich and poor. Many people are not seeing an increase in their standard of living compared to their parents and grandparents. Populists provide people with convenient scapegoats that appeal to their worst nature and doesn't require much critical thought (it's the immigrants, it's the woke ideology, it's the liberal Hollywood elite, etc. etc.). This is amplified by social media echo chambers, which allow people to easily have their bad ideas validated, while it is simultaneously being deliberately used by bad actors to further divide people and spread hate.
I watched an interview with the philosopher John Grey on Novara Media the other day and he described populism as the political blowback against the social disruption that decades of liberalism/liberal policies have produced. I’d largely agree with that.

So how are his trials going?
Still deliberating in the civil trial against Trump Org., but the amount in penalties should be set soon.
The second E. Jean Caroll civil trial is still ongoing, but last day prior to deliberations is tomorrow. Think he's fecked there too.
The trials that are yet to begin are in DC (January 6), in Florida (stolen classified documents) and in Georgia (election interference). That being said, I hope to see something coming out of Michigan for the same reasons as in Georgia (Take him to Detroit!)
Judge Cannon will make sure the document case is still in process when Trump dies.
The E. Jean Carroll trial sounds comically bad for Trump. He seems to have extremely poor (yet attractive) representation.
I almost forgot about that stupid creature. Hopefully, Jack Smith will get her ass dismissed on accusations of conflict of interest.
