Jeez it sounds amazing but it going to take ages!
He’s in a hurry he’ll want that stadium done for his 75th birthday and he’ll expect to be competing for the title by then too!

He’s not making that investment until he’s ratified
There’s more to it than even that under EPL FSP and UEFA rules we can lose £115m over 3 years, Sir Jim investment of $300m us is in two stages, $200m as soon as ratification and a further $100m later in the year, the proxy vote has just been agreed and lodged with SEC and NYSE because 4% additional shares are being raised for his cash injection.

The Club really is so close to FSP this season, the FSP runs January 23 to December 23 and we can only spend 80% of the turnover generated in that period. The club has until June the first to produce amended accounts and this new $200m investment for a new training complex will allow the club to have its first ever investment which will mean United with some clever strategic academy sales like ; Greenwood, Mejbri, A Fernandez, I Hansen and the others recently loaned or sold this winter and in the summer could help the club potentially £250-300m.

This transfer war chest touted in the press will only happen if the club sells £100-120m of player sales. We simply couldn’t do anything this January unless Ratcliffe was ratified in early January and he paid the $200m into United’s Bank account for two reasons ;

1. We really are Skint, no cash reserves no credit card, crippling interest charges and huge wages which are far too high for a team that probably won’t be playing any European Football in 2024.

2. When the Revenue is calculated might be higher than £650m because of CL football in 2023, the club can only spend 80% this summer on Wages, Amortised transfers owed, Agent Fees and Net transfers. Eighty per cent of £650m is £520m. Our wage bill is currently £360m, we owe £364m in transfer fees so probably £90-100m each year. That would be £460m plus Agent fees of £25m so £485-490m leaving £30m currently if the numbers add up to £650m. This doesn’t mean we can only spend £30m but instead more like £100m in transfers and £50m in wages as the net figure is amortised by the length of new 4/5 year contracts. Now if we sold Greenwood for £35m, Hanibal for £15m, A Fernandez(£6m). And others for £14m that’s pure profit of £70m which would allow another £200m on transfers and £80m on wages.

However the club must sell high earners like Casemiro, Varane and Erikson to make way for the following year since FSP reduces to 70% and potentially without European football this year the clubs revenue could reduce from £650m to £570m for the fiscal year of 2024. The threshold would therefore be £400m and our wage bill alone is currently £360m plus that same £95m amortized yearly fee owed to previous transfer would mean the club is trading in a way which is not sustainable.

Thats why ETH will 100% be sacked if he doesn’t qualify for the CL, especially if the PL gets a fifth spot. From a purely financial reason, Ineos will say 5 teams from 20 qualify for the CL which is 25% of the PL and Man United pay wages in the top 2 PL teams every season, then why after spending £400m have you not qualified for the CL? He will say Third Place is the minimum I would expect and that’s standing still!

One thing that is a concern with Sir Jim is his age. I hope there will be a good succession plan and a structure in place.

Some of the tweets I'm reading really paint a picture that the plans for United are not liked by everyone.
Monaco based tax exile trying to buy 25% of MUFC via Isle of Man based shell company investing in Cayman Islands based company listed in New York which has paid £941m to banks in interest for an LBO & £166m of dividends to Florida residents… wants UK taxpayer cash

Well if the right political clout is involved, this can be built quickly. The Emirates was built in 2 years. Spurs ground in 3.

It’s possible and considering SJR is a British billionaire with political connections, it should be done in a similar time frame.

A new stadium is cheaper, it will allow the owners to build it the way they want it and it will allow them to sell its name to someone else. According to Gaz that can fetch 60m-90m per year. We might be playing in Durex stadium pretty soon.

So it's not even going to be called New Trafford and instead Wembley of the North.

No body is paying 60 m for stadium naming rights per year let alone 90 m . Neville it seems was shooting his mouth off without thinking it through .

So far SJR has been impressive
The transfer window would be probably be the major test

I agree. However according to reports Spurs would want 25m a year for their stadium. We can easily ask 35m-40m for united

And Spurs are still waiting for that , we can Ask whatever we want in theory but there has to be party willing to pay that as well even 35m-40m a year deal for naming stadium rights would be most lucrative one in the world that too by significant margins I just don't see it happening unless it by Ineos itself .

If we sold naming rights on a new stadium then it would undoubtedly be the most lucrative deal ever so the £40m is not unrealistic (current record $30m in 2019), but £90m estimates are too high

Current Football Stadium Naming rights haven't even breached 10 m mark if you ignore City's sponsor , I think even £40m would be bridge too far £20m could be far more realistic figure .

Current record is SoFi in LA (20 years from 2019, $600m), I'd expect higher for us

But that's only for a new stadium, existing ones (like Nou Camp) can't ask as much as most people just keep using the old name

Project funded in part by Government money doesn't sound too good.
It says it won't be, it's more about tax breaks and removal of red tape that adds extra cost.

If we can fund it, it wouldn't take that long. I suspect populas has already got plans and architecture drawn up as part of the review last year, we have the land. Just the approvals and building.

Comparing Spurs with us is like comparing Mangyongdae Funfair with Disney World Orlando, your grocery delivery store with Amazon, your paddle boat with Scenic Eclipse, a Lada with a Ferrari. You got it right?

On top of that we've got people like Blanc at the wheel. I had my reservations on him being CEO but in terms of sponsorships and infrastructure projects, well, this guy is the littlefinger of football. The guy managed to build Juventus a stadium at a time when they were rocked by the calciopoli scandal, they were relegated the Serie B and while retaining some of the best players in the world (ex Buffon and Del Piero) with a salary that reflect their ability. That while concurrently providing Juventus with enough transfer budget to bounce back and become competitive in matter of few years. Serie A clubs always fount it difficult to attract top sponsorships and Blanc did that with a disgraced club who was playing week in week out football against the likes of Albinoleffe, Crotone and Triestina

I think that INEOS's plan is this

a- Bring the best in class on the football management side
b- Improve United on every level (fitness, training, recruitment etc)
c-Bring success back to Manchester United
d- Work extra hard to make the United's brand the coolest in football (Blanc did that with PSG, imagine what he'll do with a successful Manchester United)
e- Build a new stadium that is cutting edge (he'll demand the Glazers to either put money in or let him pay for the job in exchange of shares)
f- Put the stadium naming rights on sale at a time when United is on top of the world (or around that area)
g- Possibly sell a stake of Manchester United once we're at an all time high.

Barca are paying £25m per annum in repayments. All coming from Sportify. They want to squeeze as much as they can from every customer...I meant fan. Sadly it's the game.

It's not that long ago that Barca refused to even have a shirt sponsor, but now they sold everything and anything to pay the debts

Many thought the Glazers would sell OT naming rights years ago but thankfully they never did

Fair enough it all sounds great let's hope they can execute their plans well , it's already been too long for United to be irrelevant on the field .
