No, he wasn't great yesterday. Making a few runs without end product isn't great. He was caught offsides a few times where he could simply be on shows laziness. He was bang on average making zero defensive effort. Rashford has no excuses since signing a big fat contract. He should be bringing on 7-8 rated performance weekly instead he is putting a 5-6 rated effort with an occupational 7 rated performance. I think there are many left wingers who plays at a higher level than him today likes Martinelli, Gordon, Diaz, Grealish, Doku and etc. Ours is probably one of the highest paid.

And I said Garnacho was the one getting caught out in the first half, not Rashford, when they both had a proper full back behind them, despite the fact Bailey is Villa's most dangerous player. I think my English is quite clear tbf.
I understand what your writing, I just don't understand why you thinking more chances came down our right matters?

Garnacho made more recoveries, interceptions, clearances and they were equal on tackles with Rashford.

Ramsey was pulling out to moving Dalot over or centrally, meaning that he didn't know to stick or move.

Think Ramsey is a very good player, taking up the half space.

Also Watkins is Villa's most dangerous player even has more assets?!

I have a feeling we’ll sell him in the summer. If Omar has half the belief in the importance of body language as Guardiola does at City, he simply wouldn’t belong to what they’re trying to build.

Because they were attacking down his side and he played 30 mins more than Rashford presumably...

And Watkins? Just no.

Blimey, you should have gone with twoplanks as a user name.

Rashford should be dropped and a left footer played there. Defensively poor ;)

How can a player this young, fast and fit just refuse to work off the ball? He doesn't have any excuse. I hope we get a huge offer.

It's all about priorities in life. What I've always admired for the top professionals in this sport is their hunger. Imagine coming from nothing, like Rashford said, that there were times when they had nothing to eat. So to have all that money in the world now, where you can do anything you want, drive any car you want, have any girl you want, be a global superstar, and still have that drive to be successful, and never put your foot off the gas, to me, it's impressive.

I believe he has started to enjoy the financial freedom, and the good life outside of football a bit more, and it's natural to have consequences on your performances. Issues with discipline starting to resurface, going to a party after a 0-3 thrashing from a local rival, going out to a night club the night before training. Again, back to my first point. If his priority was football, he would've never done this.

Something has changed with him after the EL final we lost. In his post-match after that game, I saw a player hurt by the loss. Ever since then, he has been on a different trajectory. And it's truly sad to see.

Feels like he put in a shift for a couple of games after the nightclub incident and is now reverting to form.

Wouldn’t 100% sell him but would be very much willing to listen to offers.

You just don’t know what you’re going to get with Rashford and on his wages that’s not good enough.

Haaland, Kane, Salah. You go into every season and you know for a fact bar injuries you’re getting 30+ goals from them.

We have given Rashford a contract for those calibre of players and can anyone trust him to score even 20 goals a season?

I acknowledge that I could be being fickle here because he managed over 20 goals in 3 of the past 4 seasons and the 1 he didn’t was the Ragnick season but that season combined with this season (which granted isn’t over yet) makes it 2 poor seasons out of the last 3 which has shaken my confidence in him. Especially as he is on massive wages and is no longer a young player with upside. He is what he is now at 26 I don’t see him evolving further.

Wasn't as shite as he has been. However, this was Luton and he's earning 350k a week, it really isn't good enough.

I thought he was pretty good in the second half. Will probably get shot for having that opinion on here but hey ho.

Very good performance, second half particularly. I’m convinced people who are posting he played badly just have their laptops set up to auto post. No way they watched the actual match.

he's so lethargic. Some good moments on the break (not as wasteful as often) but when struggling he makes the team defensively so weak. Doesn't do a job without the ball at all.

Yeah, that's what I think.

Average first half and good second half.

Nah I've been very critical of him lately, but I have to agree with you here, I thought he had one of his better halves today in that second half.

I thought he was a lot better today. Of course the Body Language FC lot will continue to complain because the toxic side of the fan base needs someone to blame all our problems on; but he made some dangerous runs, drew a few cards, and was probably unlucky not to score.

To be fair before today people were rightly calling him out for his body language, because it was awful, genuinely looked like he'd rather be doing anything else than playing football

He is only contributing when we have the ball. Against it he is close to a non-entity sometimes. Didn't really like his body language today, wouldn't single him out for being bad today but as somebody said it earlier, the guy is on 350k a week and I don't think, we would have noticed him if he had played in the Luton team today.

This.

Morons here have a standard opinion and post the same everytime. He was very very good in second half.

There was a time there when one min injury time was gone when a Luton player did a 360 around him outside the box and he did nothing. Stunning even by his nonchalant not give a fook approach.
A ghost... sell him in the summer

I’ve hammered him. And did do for his efforts in a diabolical first half. That was however a good second half performance. A few really good balls through that created chances. Was unlucky with driving run and shot on his left as well thst the keeper did well to save

Shit first half, a good 2nd half.

Not good enough for his status in the team.

I caught him jogging a couple times when there was a press ready for him to jump on. It's really annoying to see.

He was fine enough on the ball though, just think he needs to snap into gear off the ball and be on his toes.

He was better today - more so in the second half - but he still lacks intensity and that hunger to get to the ball first, beat his man, press the opponent. He gives up at the slightest resistance.

Two really good strong shots that were well saved, he made those himself and must be pretty gutted one didn't go in.

Very much the same as last week- decent if a bit unspectacular. Looked and acted a bit pissed off at times but what's new.

It's nowhere near as good as his performances last season but I'd seriously take these performances over what was being served up a few months back.

Thought he looked better in the second half than the first. The issue we have is that we have a lack of good rotation options for his position, or at least something that will improve us. Guess the only real way forward is to hope that he plays himself out of form. I'm semi-hopeful he'll score and go on a little run to the end of the season to finish on a high.
