That's the annoying thing as it's just so obvious that he is a talent whereas with Antony it's clearly not there yet he is always going to be preferred by Ten Hag over Amad
Work rate and stamina. Garnacho has massively improved in that aspect this season, I don’t think ten hag is willing to pair Rashford with another player who isn’t really going to get up and down the pitch properly.

I’m not saying that’s right or wrong, but it’s the only thing I can think of.

It is, because it doesn't help us create scoring opportunities. He's meant to help us hold the ball higher up the pitch and be creative. If he just comes deep to get on the ball, he vacates his position that's meant to be occupying - no one is filling it and just let's the opposition get behind the ball.
Obviously in a functioning team that can progress the ball well and play through midfield, you wouldn't want your wide players dropping deep all the time but we're not that.

So Amad dropping deep is recognition of making himself available for an easy outlet pass and trying to get on the ball. If he does that when we're dominating the ball and have the opposition pinned in their half then yes it's an issue but today (or the last 10 years) it wasn't.

I like my players actually trying to get onto the ball and ignore this ETH high press man mark bollocks.

He did a few great things in the limited minutes he played:
1. sprinted back to the edge of our box and won the ball back
2. almost earned an assist when bruno hit the bar
3. he turned with the ball and had a decent carry a bit

From the limited minutes I have watched him I am quite sure that he is, at least, a decent player who won't look too out of place at PL level, it is astonishing (and insulting) that ETH seems to view him as a sporadic youth player from U18

I really hope he gets a run of games in place of rashford. I like him a lot. Play him or sell him.

He should be taking all of Rashford's minutes to the end of the season.

I would give him a chance to see what he has and if he can build on some of these flashes but people need to be realistic as to what they expect from him. He is technically good, turns well with the ball and doesn't have the tunnel vision of Rashford and Garnacho but if Utd want to play him on the wing he might have many of the same issues as Antony in lacking top end speed.

Worth trying before he is discarded and then makes a leap at his next club.

Selling Rashford would give him more minutes.

Id say give him chances the test of the season for whoever performs worst of Garnacho and Rashford at the 45minute mark.

Except he literally showed his ability to track and win the ball back numerous times against Liverpool. So that reason isn't really valid either.

Doing it briefly when you’ve been subbed on against tired players is not the same. Did add bite that I’d not seen before against Liverpool though so it’s a positive.

We can forget about Erik playing him, Erik will be sack once the FA Cup is over, he doesn't care if Amad makes it or not at United. I have never seen an idiot coach at United. He tried to justify every signings and play them regardless how bad they play. I don't even know how Rashford deserves to play week in and week out. Erik OUT!!!!

Yes. Really like what I've seen so far. He plays like a decent footballer. He's shown decent skill, workrate, game intelligent, movement, and passing. And that after playing so little game time before.

He has potential but we were expecting a world class talent for the money we paid let's be honest. Another Murtough disasterclass.

I would imagine he starts tonight with all the injuries. Especially if Garnacho doesn't make it.

Ten Hags ego is costing us a bit here.

Antony constantly getting game time ahead of Diallo despite being awful.

My guess is ETH is desperate for Antony to not be a flop. Hes the one who wanted him and if it doesn't work out, the over price failed transfer will forever be associated with him.

I think there's also likely some pressure internally for playing Antony given we undoubtedly want to sell him and recoup some of the silly fee.

If we want to recoup any fee you'd be better off NOT playing Antony and having other clubs imagine what he might play like for them instead of seeing that shit he serves up in action week after week.

Think he'll be getting more and more minutes. Or he should. Just hope he can stay fit. Can definitely be part of the group of 4 main wingers at the club though. Him and Garnacho, Rashford and one more like Nico Williams or Olise would be a very good group in a functional system.

There won’t be a buyer for Antony. Best to have Amad and Antony duel it out, under fair terms, for the RW spot next season while the LW spot goes to Garnacho and Sancho, who will also be unsellable, next season under the new manager, whose identity is yet to be revealed.

Amad looks a special talent, but can only develop under a manager who has a vision for how to keep the ball and create chances. What we have now under the current manager is total chaos, which only Bruno thrives in.

Keeping Antony is like keeping ETH for another year. You know it wont work out, but there's no other choice so you stick with them.

I would say that maybe Antony is better at defending than Amad, hence why he is getting ahead of Amad, but I wouldnt know what to say about Rashford.

I'm not sold on Amad but he should be getting more minutes, that's 100% for sure.

I don't want Antony dueling anything out. He deserves 0 minutes. I'd rather him be loaned to some shit Dutch league club if anything

If we could go back in time of course we'd never shovel 70m into the furnace the way we did with Antony, but he's here now and he's unsellable so let's use him as best as we can as a backup for Amad. Even if we loan Antony to some second division Dutch club we'd still have to pay his wages, so better have him come on when Amad needs rest, or we need to defend a lead.

But I do hear what you're saying -- or in this case read what you've written.

This is the single biggest frustration with ETH. His absolutely ridiculous favoritism. Ffs, start rewarding performance and put accountability on the players.

It's the most basic leadership trait.

Is it something personal or what?

The players in his position aren't performing. He gave us the moment of the season against Liverpool, and possibly saved Ten Hag's job with it. It's about as meaningless as a league match gets. Give him a start, for feck sake. It's something different at the very least. Something for fans to get behind.
