Of course it is! That was the whole point of my post, that it was a superficial dislike based on his likeness to the Stuart I know in real life. :)

That said, I don't find him entertaining / likeable enough to overlook the similarity - but I'm not saying Bingham himself is in any way dislikable.
I hear you bud.

What a fluke from Jones.

Don’t get the dislike for Jak honestly. He has played smart and within his own abilities And staying really calm and collected. No one knew of this guy and we are questioning his character! Internet for you!

always annoys me how much the commentators drone on about how great the crucible is

What a slog of a match. Lets hope the standard is better tomorrow.

He's been on the tour for over ten years in total, and reached the QF of the World Championship just last year. Of course Snooker fans knew of him!

It's always a surprise when qualifiers reach the final, of course, so I doubt anyone would have predicted him to reach the final this year. But 'no one knew of this guy' is a huge exaggeration.

Pleased to see him win today, and would be happy for him to complete the story by winning the final - even if he did ruin my tournament by knocking out Judd.

Okay - sounds so pompous - my comment was a reference to one of the comments earlier. You seem salty on this. Hope Jak wins this. Saying this when Steven Hendry and Jimmy is my fav players ever!

 Bingham's post march interview with Rob was a shitshow. He got outplayed in all aspects of the game by Jones and didn't have the decency to admit that. Disappointed in Bingham but I understand how frustrated he must be after beating Ronnie in the QF at the crucible and not making it to the final.

Massive round of applause for Jones. I think him and Kyren will give us an amazing final. Both don't give much emotion away and both absolutely desperate to win it for the first time.

Nope. Not 'salty' at all. Other than the fact that he knocked out Judd!

As I'd said earlier, I wanted him to beat Bingham. And as I added to my previous post, I'll be quite happy to see him complete the story by winning the final. Though as far as World Championship Finals go, this will be about as neutral as I'll ever be as I really don't have a preference.

Yeah - kind of disappointed in that interview. Thought more highly of him. It is a tough business this.

Ok I did not see your earlier posts. Ronnie should really have got through and that kills the interest somewhat. Both the finalist will be a good story. Hope It is an exciting final.

Bingham's interview was fecking hilarious

in the end when the interviewer tried to give him a chance go say something nice about Jak's performance he just took a dump all over that question

I really got behind Bingham for that WC title when he was the underdog and followed him on Twitter for a while after and got the impression he’s a bit of a tool.

I have no real preference for who wins it out of those two.At a push I'd say jones, purely because he's a qualifier. He admitted himself he hasn't done anything special to get here, he's just won a lot of the scrappy important frames.

If Wilson plays like he did against Higgins, he'll win.
Hopefully it goes 18-17!

Disappointing start from Jones. Was always a possibility that he'd buckle under the intense pressure. Hopefully he'll improve after the interval and get into the contest.

It'll be interesting next season to see if Jak Jones can become more consistent in the shorter formats, and start competing well in those - or if he's going to be like Matthew Stevens and Anthony McGill and always seem to only come alive at the longer formats.

Seemed grounded and humble in the interview with Henry just then. Hope he can settle down and get some frames on the board soon.

Would a winner with blonde highlights be bad for the game?
Two British finalists in their early 30's (young for Snooker!) is at least a good message just as the game looks to be taking ever bigger steps towards the obvious move to Asia.

It won't stop the inevitable, but at least it 'highlights' that there's life in the British game yet beyond the class of 92.

Jones looks like a deer caught in the headlights, biggest mining margin is 18-3 at this rate, it could be beaten.
Yeah, I guess it's always a real possibility when you get upsets / underdog stories earlier in the tournament. Can sometimes lead to one sided SF's or Finals when the occasion proves too much for them.
