I think he is a good manager, very good tactically, has a good record and omes across well ininterviews......BUT

He justdoesnt seem stable, especially pith side and this has been apparent atseveral clubs....also having been a journeymanalready, is he a long terms manager.....he gets a no thanks from me
I think Pep doesn't come across as stable. Maybe the players need a manager they fear to listen. EtH is stability personified. He doesn't change anything (except not to play like Ajax).

Yes, please tell us what we need.

Because apparently a proven winner who can deal with a disjointed squad is not needed...

I swear some of the opinions on here deserve bans for a few days.
I will firstly respond to you by saying, you need a ban permanently because you do not know how to take on an opinion and even when you bother to reply, you offer nothing of substance back. You are just a lazy poster swiveling in its ego.

Anyway, back to the facts. Proven winner? Okay he won the French league twice (huray) plus some micky mouse trophies in France, German league (huray, i think that was the last of a 10 or 12 year dominance where no other team even came close, but he did throw it away this year) and I think something with Dortmund and then he won the champions league with Chelsea, which was actually brilliant so I give you that. Outside 2 years in France, he has won 4 trophies in about 10 years. Can you explain where the proven winner comes from?

Like I said, I think he is a good manager but we do not need someone like him, we need someone with a clear strategy that can build us long term and this is not tuchel. How many times are we changing managers because of a different strategy? What this club needs desperately is for the board to define a style of play, hire the right players and then the right manager. If I wanted a proven winner, I'd get Jose. He is a seriel winner, but again, he's not what we need. We are in the transitions of transitions and have some guy for 2 years here does not build anything.

That's my logic, which may I add, is far more superior than your ridiculous comment of "proven winner" when you do not even know the definition and just blurt out rubbish because you need to give an opinion.

Have a great day.

Hell no. Keep ETH and give him a competent midfield in the summer. If he's shite then wait for Alonso and throw everything to get him

Arteta, Alonso, de Rossi, Motta. It’s clear where the future is. Enough of hiring 50+ year olds whose best coaching days are behind them.
He’s managed a club for 5 mins  This place sometimes :houllier:

I'm not trying to be a dick but why in god's name would Alonso ever consider going to United when he will very obviously walk into the Real Madrid job?

You have some arrogance giving out lessons on quality of argument after writing an idiotic half-sentence half-arsed post with no backing in the first place.

If you bothered to read (something I won't do with your post), you'd see that there's plenty of discussion on why to go for Tuchel and you sure as hell are not entitled to get a private dissertation because you've been called out for a blank statement that makes no sense in the first place and decided to cry about it.

Just the fact you're arguing Tuchel is not a proven winner when he's won a trophy with every club he's been with in often volatile circumstances screams arrogance of the misinformed.

Why did Pep go to Man fecking City of all places?
Well, he didn't play for years against their biggest rival for a start. Beyond that he obviously went for the stupid money and best situation - so no offense but all else being equal why in god's name would anyone consider managing Man United instead of Real Madrid at this point?

:lol::lol: listen to yourself.

1. I've read a lot of what people are saying, that does not mean I have to agree. I didn't become successful in life by following the crowd. Yes, that's my arrogance.

2. Failing to read what i wrote proves the worthlessness of your reaction. Even I had the capacity to read the drivel you fed back.

3. Everyone can have there own opinion, I dont care if someone thinks he is the man, I just expect that if you are to reply to a different comment, have the intelligence to provide a proper debate.

4. Proven winner? You are again holding on to this point? Your proven winner lost the most games in a season with bayern for over 10 years. Oh and by the way, he added the most sought after CB in Kim, world class striker in Kane and a handful of recruits in Jan. Yes, I do read what people write, that was copied directly from someone else, all brilliant facts.

5. With your definition of proven winner, why don't we look at Raneri? He won the prem with Leicester. I dont think you really know what you mean with the proven winner comment. If you want a proven winner, you go Jose.

6. To end this weird exchange between two individuals that have a inverted level of intellect (yes you are on the bottom scale), try forming your own opinion rather than being a sheep . And when you do have a proper opinion, try to really explain why, not just poach words around, just because it's free. Like I said, this club needs stability, direction, strategy, recruitment and structure. Hopefully most this squad will be gone in the summer and if that happens, a bunch of opinions on here will be void because a lot are saying they want Tuchel to manage these clowns (see another example of me reading).

Enjoy your meaningless commentary. :)

I seem to have hit a nerve with our resident genius but just the fact you're comparing Ranieri to Tuchel is a joke.

I don't need people to agree with me but I sure won't let you write nonsense and play the Einstein card. I also don't even dare ask what you consider succesful if you're having difficulty spelling 'there'.

I'm sorry but is this some sort of elaborate art piece parody wherein a young person tries to say as many idiotic things as possible whilst pretending to be a boomer?

Is ETH a proven winner? :nervous:
Maybe I should write out my methodology for a 'proven' winner, so I don't get called an idiot indirectly by insecure successful posters on the Caf.

To keep it short, I mean that he's won stuff everywhere he's been despite his somewhat turbulent personality and has really done it with the tools inherited. His biggest signing was Lukaku at Chelsea, I think, and that was a total failure. Still he got them in the CL and to 2 cup finals which they lost on pens.

In my opinion, unless we overhaul the squad this summer, getting some of these young exciting managers is really quite pointless and if they are smart, they'd stay well away. Probably why De Zerbi has decided to stay because none of the big clubs looking for managers are in a good spot for them at the moment.

Oh I am gravely sorry sir, I didn't read the grammatical dictionary when I was younger, it is also not my first language. Hopefully this correction in spelling, your only ridiculous input, will make me more successful in life. Thank you and bless you special one.

Your first paragraph, may have been spelt with perfect English and perfect grammar, but again proves the point, you are incapable of simple reasoning skills to interpret information. I dont know how you have accumulated 14k posts with the drivel you spawn.

According to this guy, ETH would be a proven winner .. but then again, it's very hard to understand the opinion because of the lack of substance coming from there keyboard.
Perhaps you should read the thread before commenting willy-nilly - but maybe that would necessitate the use of "superior logic"

Oh god are you rightnr alter ego or something?

I'll take the elaborate art as a comedy, that's my gen z side and ill take the parody side as good old fashioned humour, that's my boomer side. Unfortunately, I'm neither. But the person I'm replying to, definitely a boomer.

Interesting reading that the club needs: stability, direction, strategy, recruitment, and structure. To then say most of the squad should be gone in the summer seems contradictory; it hardly seems like it will add to stability to pull a Boehly Chelsea and buy a squads worth of players in one go. It doesn’t seem like an example of a club pulling in the right direction.

Finally, someone who has a decent response. I agree, it is contradictory when you read it on a forum, especially the way I wrote it.

The needs of the club are a must, its the key thing that has been damaging us for years and a huge reason for failure.

The comment on "hopefully most this lot will be gone" is based on the fact I think a lot of our players will not be here in the summer (evans, Maguire, varane all very likely to leave, who knows about malacia), Martial is gone, erikson is gone, casemior is likely to go. That's already 6 or 7 players. So I'm not suggestion we go and replace 16 players, I saying most the lot that we know are going will be plus a few more hopefully. The last thing I want us to do is spend a billion. I want to keep the core players we have, Bruno, hojlund, garnacho, mainoo, dalot, Mctominay (squad player) etc.

I think that’s fair. It’s probably an unpopular opinion but I wouldn’t be in a rush to let too many players go in the summer. We need to make a few good squad additions, but we need a bigger squad in general. With the injury problems we’ve had I think it would be prudent to make the squad bigger, rather than smaller, if possible.

He’s managed a club for 5 mins  This place sometimes :houllier:

How long were Arteta and Alonso managing top teams before being given cracks at their teams? How long was Pep managing before Barcelona gave him a chance? Where are the list of McKenna’s teams before doing what he has done at Ipswich.

We need to stop hiring on CVs, and start hiring modern, forward-thinking coaches who can take on a new and exciting project for the next 5 years. That’s not Tuchel, it’s not Southgate and it’s not Graham fecking Potter.

de Rossi is the only one on the list who might not come to anything, but it would be a damn sight more exciting than getting another uninspired coach whose best days could well be behind them.

If “lol cafe” is your best contribution, maybe it’s better you didn’t give any opinion after all.

Those 3 managers are nothing alike. And Potter is very much the profile you're advocating for before he failed at Chelsea.

Your general point might be sound but the arguments provided to support it falls well short.

Sigh. Nobody gets 5 years at Man United. Nobody even gets 3. Most struggle to finish 2.

People need to shorten that timespan.

The point is that they are young, confident, ambitious, and, God forbid, even charismatic.

Potter is uninspired purely because of his lack of charisma and the personality needed to be a leader at a top club.

I am not writing a feckin thesis mate. I just want a young, ambitious, energetic coach as part of a new initiative. We have done the CVs. McKenna would be my choice.

Completely agree with everything you said here, especially "modern, forward thinking".

I do like Potter though, I'm not saying I'd want him, I'm not even sure who I would want, but I'm pretty certain Tuchel is not the right man for us considering where we are today as a club and how much funds we may have available in the summer. We always go with the CV guy (coach or player), we really need to think about what we want to achieve, in how long and the steps to get there. Tuchel is just a plaster over many many cracks.

Look, I actually don't disagree BUT we have a timing issue.

To select the right hidden (or not that hidden) gem of a young manager, we need the new hires to be in post and have time to conduct the search.

This would mean we cannot change the manager this summer and for me that's unacceptable. Also, even with someone like McKenna and Iraola, they have either no experience or just a single season under their belt (we saw that De Zerbi has struggled in his second season). I would like to see them for another one or two seasons to properly make the right choice.

Which brings us to the bridge candidate of Tuchel. He seems desperate enough to accept a 1-year rolling contract under the pretext that INEOS would like to retain flexibility because they've not had enough time to reassess the full state of the club yet.

We definitely need a new guy in charge though, that's for sure.
