Should just terminate his contract after that penalty. Will likely cost some quid, but we'll win them back over time

Awful footballer. Not just the penalty but he hasn't got a single technical bone in his body. His lack of any ability to pass or control the ball invites unnecessary pressure. I'd rather play one of our U21s.

Dumb challenge from a dumb player

I pray we finally move him on in the summer

This was even worse than Dalot's against Chelsea. Such a risky tackle when there is no need, absolutely braindead decision

Absolutely brain dead tackle for the penalty, just like Dalot on Thursday

Absolute idiot. You don’t go to ground like that in the box there. It’s why we will never win anything of note with average players like this with awful decision making. Brainless.

Bad bad game today. That tackle to concede the penalty is worth docking wages for

Three pens in 2 games, perhaps they're told to take risks like that? Just like the risk to let the opposition take as many shots as they want

Meh, he played well.

He fecked up, but if you let the opposition camp out in your box the way we do, you put your players in the sort of pressure we were in all game - that will happen. Mentally it must be exhausting playing for us as a defender because you don't get a fecking break. And for the rest of the game he was impeccable against Salah who torments us.

Shouldn't be playing at left back but we have a brainless manager who decided to loan all our back up left backs knowing the two we had are extremely injury prone

Yeah he fecked up, bit like Dalot the other night. Still, he was standard otherwise. The caf is brutal though....

We're always under the cosh. Players feck up when they're constantly under pressure like that. Mentally it's taxing as feck. You stick our 2008 backline with this set up, and they'd feck up occasionally too.

Another player that needs to go. Lost Nunez for the flick on header before the first goal and conceded the pen. He cost us today.

He literally made that assist pass for Mainoo's goal?

Except that moment, he had been excellent. The back line is heroic this game.

Dreadful second half, topped off with that shit tackle for the penalty.

Get him gone.

I'm not sure I completely agree with this. Defenders in the bottom half of the table manage it loads of times a season.

Maguire was fantastic today, Kambwala was good too. Liverpool were applying pressure but they were not particularly creative on the ball. Just needed to do the basics right.

People are hating on him because he gave away the penalty. If we’re being honest, up till that incident he was having a decent game considering he was played out of position.

Yeah was a moment of madness but he had a good game apart from that.

You know how it goes bro.... Some posters have been waiting for these moments.

Still he fecked up and will understandably take a bit of stick, it is what it is

We need new fullbacks in the summer, bar Dalot none of them can be relied on.

Shaw has long injury spells.

Yeah my thoughts sort of.

Ultra dumb tackle but defended well against the wave of attacks. Some good on the ball and some very bad. Not a left back and definitely not first choice right back for me either.

Brainless. Elliot was going nowhere. That's the problem with players like him. He can play well for most of the game but he's always got that error in him. Dalot and Maguire are the same.

That being said, another soft penalty. Elliot made the contact for himself to fall over. Wouldn't have had the chance to do it if AWB wasn't brainless but yeah.

Did ok-ish for a RB playing at LB, still would prefer Dalot there who's far more comfortable on that side out of the two.

Absolute braindead decision on the tackle though.

This team.
