Its Carrick you knowwww, it's hard to believe its not Scholes!!!
Glad he got a song, he deserved it.
Glad he got a song, he deserved it.
Strange when you consider nothing has actually changed in the time since, he was amazing that season in our run to winning the league and reaching the CL final. He was the Caf's favourite scapegoat around 2010/11. Funny how times change, even the media seem to have finally picked up on his importance to the current Utd side.
Shite song mindIts Carrick you knowwww, it's hard to believe its not Scholes!!!

Don't think Carrick should have a song. I want to continue saying he's unsung.
It's optimistic to think you could go into the Madrid game with two in midfield.
Something has though, he seems tougher and fitter. Always seems difficult to get passed and his ability under pressure seems more composed.Strange when you consider nothing has actually changed in the time since, he was amazing that season in our run to winning the league and reaching the CL final.
No, it's brilliant. Lyrics aren't Shakespearean but the tune and tempo rocked Loftus Road - long may it continue. That chant was just terrible.
I agree. Good chant IMONo, it's brilliant. Lyrics aren't Shakespearean but the tune and tempo rocked Loftus Road - long may it continue.
Yes.Is that song supposed to be complementary?
And catchy. Can't take it of my mind.I agree. Good chant IMO
After hearing it on that video, agreed the chant sounds pretty good. Not Lincoln-esque line, but easy to sing with large crowd. No, it's brilliant. Lyrics aren't Shakespearean but the tune and tempo rocked Loftus Road - long may it continue.
Pfft. In terms of quality Colback will never be close. Carrick is.Sunderland fans have the same chant for Jack Colback. But that is more apt since Colback is ginger like Scholes.
He's far to passive. I don't reckon he'd even consider it, fair play if he does and is a genius. I will admit I am wrong. Not only is he a great player and a United icon, but he seems to have a really good footballing brain. I think he will make a good manager one day, or if not I hope he stays at United as a member of staff.
fecking classic. Carrick's ill fated 'mullet' era.
What is the chant? I don't understand the vowel only singing that all supporters sound like. No, it's brilliant. Lyrics aren't Shakespearean but the tune and tempo rocked Loftus Road - long may it continue.
Suu Kyi wouldn't give the likes of Khedira and Alonso a second on the ball. She bossed the midfield for us in the 2011 quarter-final against Chelsea. Yes, it's a joke about racism. It's optimistic to think you could go into the Madrid game with two in midfield.
"Hard to believe it's not Scholes, Carrick, you know!" or a variant thereof. What is the chant? I don't understand the vowel only singing that all supporters sound like.
Was fantastic, lifted the last 15 mins considerablyThat chant was just terrible.
“I certainly noticed our fans singing. Our travelling fans are amazing and they sang that song for quite some time in the second half. It was nice to hear,” Carrick told M.E.N Sport.
“Scholesy is a legend and he is always going to be a legend. I don’t know whether it is tongue in cheek but it is a nice song and I will take that,” he added.
“It is always nice to be compared to players like that. Paul is as good as it gets and he has been throughout his career. To train alongside him and learn every day from him has been something I have tried to make the most of.
“I have taken that opportunity and it has helped me bring my own game on whether he knows it or not. It has been a big help.”
Scholes himself refers to Carrick as a ‘Rolls Royce’ of a player.
“It just shows you the respect that there is within the squad for each other’s game,” said the 31-year-old.
“We all bring something different and we all have different qualities.
“We all want to help each other to be successful.”
“I don’t know why my game is suddenly getting noticed. It is hard for me to answer that,” he said.
“I suppose I am playing a bit better but I feel I have been playing consistently well for a number of years now. I was in the Champions League final not so long ago so I can’t have been doing that badly.
“It is about gradual improvement. As you get older you get more experience and you have a different role in the team.
“My game all depends on what game we are playing and who we are playing against and who I am playing alongside. With the tactics and set up my game varies. You just have to adapt to each other.”
“Goals are not something I really think about to be honest,” he added.
“Of course I would like to score more, everybody would.
“If I am playing a role in the team and I am not scoring then I am still happy with that. It doesn’t bother me.
“I don’t get too many opportunities to get forward and into the box these days. In an ideal world I would love to be scoring goals but you have to do the job in the team you do and everyone helps and every little helps.
“We are scoring enough goals as a team anyway and hopefully that continues. I am just happy with the way things are going.
“But it is all about the bigger picture and that is about achieving at the end of the season. That’s my focus.”
As Ghaliboy said, he look a bit too passive to be a manager. Shame that as I can see him being a good manager. If you look at Deschamp and Guardiola who played the same role in similar style (with perhaps comparable game intelligent), they both are successful managers. Not only is he a great player and a United icon, but he seems to have a really good footballing brain. I think he will make a good manager one day, or if not I hope he stays at United as a member of staff.
Yeah there's a definite link there, they're all quite square jawed as well, maybe that has something to do with it?As Ghaliboy said, he look a bit too passive to be a manager. Carrick should be at least in our youth coaching staff. With him and Scholes there, maybe later on we can say ""We have many players like him (Wilshere) in our second team".
Well it sounds a bit ambiguous, which Carrick himself seems to have picked up on:Comparing someone to Scholes.. yep.. its complimentary
The point is that Scholes is his contemporary and colleague. It would be one thing if it was Paddy Crerand he was being compared to, but this is kind of like singing, 'RVP, RVP, He's almost as good as Wayne Rooney". Yes it's a compliment, but it's vaguely back-handed, it's basically saying, 'He's playing so well that you could almost mistake him for that other, better player we've got'."Scholesy is a legend, so I don't know whether it is tongue-in-cheek but it is a nice song and I will take that," he said.
"It's Carrick, he's old...sell him and sign Joey Cole."What is the chant? I don't understand the vowel only singing that all supporters sound like.
I like it. We should start insulting all our players by saying they're not as good as others.Well it sounds a bit ambiguous, which Carrick himself seems to have picked up on:

Tune's also dirge-like. We should leave that stuff to the Scousers.
