Has he always actually been a left back? Other than enthusiasm he has very little defensive instinct from what I can see. The only way you can be fair to him is that in yesterday's setup he's on the left on his own pretty much. Didn't think those in front of Carrick seemed concerned about defending in anyway, so the back 5 were left hung out to dry a lot. Regardless of the result meaning little, conceding 5 (particularly the last 3) is very disappointing, as was Buttner's performance defensively.
