I rewatched the whole of season 1 last week. I think it's a show that's designed to be binge watched and then binge watched again.

It was better than I remember, and I'm hyped about season 2 (though I refuse to watch any of the trailers).

It is an interesting challenge for the main actor. The whole concept of the show, different sleeves, same person, has Mackie studied Kinnaman's performance and tried to incorporate some echo of that into his own interpretation? Find that fascinating, did Kinnaman have any obvious distinctive body language that could be transferred? Were they thinking that far ahead?

Doing the same, two episodes left. I can't remember if Ortega dies or not. She's like the "fiery latina" stereotype dialed up to 12. Really bad acting.

I wonder how much convincing it took Rei's actress to do a fight scene naked? Also, James Purefoy has a big ol' dick, it probably didn't require much convincing for him to get it out.

Anyway, looking forward to season 2. I'll be surprised it gets a season 3 though. Looks expensive as feck to make and it hasn't really grabbed a big fanbase.

Agree that Ortega is terrible. Probably the worst part of the show. Generally I thought that, as a series, it was good enough but I gave it a lot of slack because I’m a sci fi nerd. The flashback episodes of Kovacs past with Quellcrist were the best.

I'm not much of an Anthony Mackie fan. I don’t really understand how he keeps getting parts. He has no edge at all. Just bland and yet witlessly smug at the same time. So not thrilled for season 2. Kinnaman will be missed.

As for James Purefoy’s penis. I hate to be the one to break it to you, but that’s not really considered big......

Can't believe I'm debating this but bullshit, that's a big dick.

Nah... 30 years have passed anyway. I hear he has his own interpretation. Takeshiko Kovacs does become more empathetic in the latter books though. Other than that you just have to act like a fecking brutal badass that gets lots of fanny.

I’m sorry but that’s a decidedly average wang.
We can't really tell, it depends on whether he's a grower or a shower.

But since simonhch's reference point is probably gay porn, I have to point out that studies suggest the average penis is about 9 cm when flaccid, 13 cm when erect.

And yes, I googled these studies in incognito mode. If someone wants this part of my search history, they'll have to access the router itself.

I have done that too and I'm mega hyped for the new season dropping. Can't wait. Poe is a great character, glad he is back.

Is there a catch up video somewhere of season 1? I've seen it but cant remember most of the plot points. I have this issue with most Netflix shows

Netflix usually have a recap bundled along with new seasons of their shows anyway.

Two fecking years since season one came out, it's impossible to remember all this shit. That said season one was relatively self contained outside the flashbacks so I don't think there's too much you need to know other than Kovacs is going back to his homeworld to find Quell (think that's her name).

Which is already a change from the book so I'm wondering where they're going with that. I clocked (what seem to be) elements of the 3rd book in the last trailer

I just started watching this while waiting to pass my gallstones. I quite like it so far.

The show, not the gallstones.

Why would it need to be gay porn, not straight? And so what if it was? It’s 2020. The gay thing isn’t viably derogatory any more.

Wasn't meant to be derogatory: the point was that you cannot use porn actors as reference points for average penis size. Gay porn has, presumably, more male talent than straight porn.

Not into season two at all. Everything seems toned down from S1, it lacks the cyperpunk tone, and worst of all, Mackie is a charisma vacuum in the lead role.

Half way through. I'm liking it. Agree Mackie is wooden but hes almost a bit part amongst a prominent and excellent supporting cast.
