Ange Postecoglou

They could get Guardiola and it wouldn't move the needle an inch.

I don’t believe this. They have a great young team with a lot of quality that was brought in at a premium. A very good selection of CBs, some of the best prospects at CM in Europe and decent wide options too.

They probably need a Son replacement and a quality striker to compete with Solanke but they have the makings of a very good team there. Iraola would jump at that squad ahead of what he has at Bournemouth.

Ange isn’t a good manager and is actively hurting their team with his ridiculous lack of flexibility and stress in his defensive players. Iraola would make them a force, I think.

Last 10 games in league at home: 1 win, 3 draws and 6 defeats. The win was vs United. Also, only kept 2 clean sheets at home in league this season: vs Everton back in August and against United in February

Didn't he have a sly dig at us saying.... " do it for months" with the injuries and young players that he had to play.

Its well and good saying your players are young and you have no options but he should be moaning to the board then. They sanctioned 85m euros on 3 U20 players...

Its like Amorim moaning that he has to play Yoro because he is 18... or Dorgu cause he is 20 but we signed those players for now, you dont spend 40m on a Archie Gray... then moan about his age.

Is it really their team that great? I'm not sure . How many would you take at United , given we are pretty much the same this year ?
Solanke above Hojlund- probably by a very small margin. Both aren't good enough .

Porro over Dalot - yes, but above Maz ? Not sure .

VdV above Martinez? Yes.

Kulu over Garnacho - Yes.

That's it!

For our squad? A lot of them!

Vicário, Porro, Romero, Van der Ven, Gray, Bergvall, Tel, Solanke, Kulu, Spence, would all be welcome additions to our squad.

They have a really nice young team that should be in the European places with ease.

The worst thing is that we’ve played them thrice this season and lost all 3 games. They did the double over us in the league (for the first time ever in the Premier League era), keeping clean sheets both times.

No, I beg to differ. But agree to disagree and move on.

If you have seen most of those play, and you have seen out bench for recent games, they would all have a role to play, and about half of them are starters.

We can’t get above ourselves just because we have had some decent results recently and have a highly promising coach.

They have a very promising squad, one that should put them in those Europa places with ease. He is a really poor coach for this level and some of those players will go on to great things when they don’t have him to deal with.

Yeah. The defeat at Old Trafford was understandable as we were just poor and also Bruno got a red card at 0-1. However, 2 defeats at their stadium were avoidable. 4-3 in cup was Amorim rotating early into his reign and then 1-0 in league wasn't a bad performance but we also lost Amad and Mainoo before that game and think that's what decided the match before it even started.

Spurs were quite good in 2016-2019 period and we never lost twice to them in a season during that period and then it happens against a terrible Spurs side (though we're terrible as well).

Yeah, but they'd still be Spurs. Remember, they came 3rd in a 2 horse race with a good manager.

There definitely is a problem with club culture, and the idea that the minimum is enough. That comes from the top and needs to change for them to move forward

But there is no way that group of players should be where they are, or playing as badly as they have. They are hilariously open and easy to score against, and that comes from poor coaching.

It was the same here with Ten Hag losing big games by 6-7 goals against rivals. Good coaches don’t let that happen consistently. That group losing 15PL games by March is ludicrous. They are consistently naive, and that comes from one man.

Not digging out your post but your last sentance made me think, what teams should get European place with ease. What does it go down to 8?

1 United
2 Manchester city
3 Scouse
4 Arsenal
5 Chelsea
6 Villa
7 Newcastle
8 Brighton? Spurs? Forest?

The league seems to be getting a lot closer at the top

There should definitely be more capable teams, but this is a poor season to argue it. With Chelsea, United and City playing as they have been at times, and very inconsistent results from all three of Brighton, Villa and Newcastle, the fact they are in 14th with 15 losses is scandalous.

Only Wolves, Ipswich, Southampton and Leicester have lost more games.

It’s not a poor season to argue it. that’s my point. All those teams you mention should ‘easily’ get Europe. Where does it end

Not sure what the point is then. They are a superior team to the likes of Brighton and Newcastle (who, again, have 10 losses themselves and still have the likes of Murphy starting) and City/Chelsea/United are having poor seasons. They should be top 6/7 based on what they have, with ease.

The point is what classes as ‘should easily get european place’ when there’s about ten teams you could say that about. They can’t all easily get it

I get what you mean, but they have far superior resources and a far deeper squad than the likes of Brighton and Newcastle. They are a top 6 squad and they are so far off that because of their coach.

Their bench at Fulham had Madison, Bergvall, Sarr, Son, Odebert, Porro and Van den Ven and that’s still with a few injuries.

They should be doing far better than they are and have a much better squad than the likes of Brighton or Newcastle.

To know how bad this fella is doing look no further than the table to see them three points behind Man United having lost 16 games only the Wolves (17) Ipswich (18) and the bottom two have lost more games this season.

He will get sacked in the summer. It's shit for Spurs fans but the board have basically given up on the season because the managers they want won't join until the summer.

The guy is peak neggy vibes. Cupping his ears to his own fans.

The Tottenham curse is just too strong and Ange is too stubborn with his dysfunctional system (any similarity with another PL manager is pure coincidence).

I was going to say that, like us, all their hopes are in the Europa League but it just sounds so toxic at the club that winning it would be almost a miracle. Frankfurt and then possibly Lazio (IIRC?), those won't be easy games. I think he'll be gone quite soon if they lose there.

Maybe. I think if he does get sacked during the season it will be a Ryan Mason job again. Either way I wouldn't be surprised to see Iraola as Spurs manager next season.

He's bitching about the disallowed goal and when he's asked point blank if he thought it was a foul he goes 'you can try and push me into a corner mate'

He's not getting sacked as long as getting CL football is possible and it's possible through Europa League as we know. But probably not wise to fight with fans and cup ears to them. He's in a bad situation and only EL win can save him. Has to improve atmosphere before Eintracht to have a chance. Southampton game at home could be a chance to do that.

No need for Ryan Mason to come in for a 3rd time. They'll just sack him few days after seasons is ended if they don't go all the way in Europa.

This interview with Ange could well have been a Knowing Me, Knowing You sketch...
