After nearly appointing Arteta, we have almost got Sokratis.

More mediocrity with this signing. Can't him having great seasons with Milan, Genoa and Dortmund.

If you made this signing a couple of seasons ago then it would've been a great one but he has been average this season. His aggressive playing style was a great foil to Hummels' calmer demeanor but he has looked out of sorts since Hummels left. There is obviously potential but he has to be paired with the right partner, he hasn't had stability in his pairings this season because Toprak took time to settle in and so was being rotated with Bartra.

Don't see the sense in Dortmund selling him though, would've liked to see him with Akanji long term. Toprak has hardly been great this season that you can put your trust in him to lead the backline and they don't have a back-up CB now. Wonder who they have in mind to replace Sokratis with.

Him and Mustafi together would be a disaster waiting to happen

Arsenal fans on Mania going apeshit about their transfer budget. Their board is a disgrace.

He's essentially Lovren especially in the system you us and BVB play with the high line. It leaves your defenders exposed, he's reverted to being Dejan without VVD next to him. He's not a bad defender though.

Probably the most brutal come-back quotes I've ever read  he absolutely destroyed him.
He has a fair point though, Keown was talking about ozil having a mental breakdown and almost laughing about it. Very archaic way of thinking.

You would also think pundits who have played under certain managers would understand the intricacies of their tactics far better than anyone else. Something he's never shown any sign of doing.

Haha £50 million. That isn't enough of good full back these days. Maybe Wenger wasn't a spend thrift after all...

I'm guessing Aboomerang was supposed to be part of this summer's budget. You don't usually break your transfer record only to break your transfer record again in 6 months for someone playing in the same position.

Of course he wasnt it was a mutually beneficial relationship that weirdly, a lot of their fans couldnt see through.

Wenger got permanent job security, a hefty salary and no expectations other than 'finish top 4'. In return, he never publicly said there were no funds available and the board could line their own pockets season after season.

Match made in heaven/hell depending on where you sit.

Arsenal will be silly to appoint Arteta. Have they not learnt from our mistakes?

After such a long running manager, wouldn't it be more wise to get in an experienced head to steady the ship for a few years and have Arteta coach under him?
