one of the most ridiculous red cards I’ve seen in recent times. state of refereeing is concerning:

Saw that earlier, first yellow was extremely harsh and the second yellow was ludicrous.

If we get ten Haag as manager then it’s most likely that VDB will get a lot more playing time, we will still obviously target a dm but if we play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 next season then it could be, VDB DM and Bruno. Which would give us good balance I think.
VDB has a long way to go to prove he's good enough for us. And I really don't see him being a starter for us as an 8 alongside Bruno

Does he work hard? We need hard workers. We cannot have any people just casually walking around the place.

Another good performance in a 1-0 win away from home against Marseille from what I've read.

Wait for a properly run team Aurelian, don't damage your reputation by joining these cowards

How has Camavinga got on at Real? Who is/was considered the bigger talent between the two? I felt Camavinga had far more hype when he was still in France.
Camavinga is 18. He's doing relatively well for an 18 year old

As for hype, again, Camavinga is 18. Debuted at 16

Need to watch more of him. This is only the second time I've proper had a look at him

Didnt get on the ball enough me...

But alongside Fofana in a midfield two looked defensively solid. As were Monaco as a whole tbf

Game finished 1-0 Monaco.

How did Kamara play in comparison.

This lad is going to be the best DM in the world, he's so so good already. If there is any chance of us getting him it has to be priority number 1 this summer.

As a french fan all i'm hoping for is that he won't be played as a DM in his next club. If he comes to Man Utd and plays as a DM, people will start complaining about why he doesn't play like he used to at Monaco, where he always play next to a pure DM.

No problem, he can be the Pogba replacement and we'll take Palhinha from sporting as a pure DM.

Yea that could work, I dont know how good Palhinha is but he needs a DM next to him to be free to go forward, which is one of his biggest strengths, he's too good offensively to be just a DM. Even McT, who's not a DM but doesnt have the skillset to be a box to box at the highest level, could do as a DM next to Tchouameni. I'm really eager to know where he's gonna land, because he'll be a major piece of the future of our national team.

I rate him incredibly highly from what I've seen, would absolutely love him here but he will be excellent wherever he goes. I also think Kounde is fantastic, expect Chelsea to secure him for next season.

How and what would your description of his role and position be?

I love Kounde too, I think his size hurts his reputation, people want their CB to be 190cm+ tall nowadays, but if you look at his aerial stats he holds the comparison to those giant centre backs.

He's a box to box, but at Monaco he is given kind of a free role that he won't get at his next club, at least initially. Their DM, usually Fofana or Jean Lucas, sits back and acts as a shield to their defense line while Tchouameni presses and wins the ball, but he wouldnt be able to do that if he didnt have that kind of DM behind him. While I'm very excited about a Kante-Tchouameni-Pogba midfield for our national team, it will require adjustement from Kante who's more of a bully DM than a sitback DM (if that makes sense, my english feels rusty today).

Thanks. If I understood correctly, this is how I see Tchouameni too.

He is energetic and in your face, all over the place, making slide tackles after the opposition has gotten in to deep dangerous areas etc. At the same time he has good passing ability and able to get up and down the pitch.

This is why I personally saw him more as a replacement for Fred or even Mctominay than someone like Matic who is able to do the shielding thing and protect the CB's by being at the right place at the right time.

I'd be happy if Tchouameni joined us, but I do think we won't be using him to his best ability if we bought him and used him as an anchorman or shielding CDM.

This is why personally I want Rice to replace Matic whilst someone like Tchouameni being a replacement for a terrier box to box cm like Fred or Mctominay. Finally a deep lying playmaker like Garner or Caquaret should leave us with gaps in our midfield specialists sorted out.

Yea your assesment of him is how I see him too. And I agree that a Rice-Tchouameni partnership would be kind of ideal. I could see him playing as a DM, but he'd need a midfielder like Jorginho or Verratti next to him, someone who likes to sit back and plays deep but while not DMs they can still cover and make tackles. Using him as a lone DM in your current Man Utd setup would lead to holes in the middle when he pushes forward or restrict him to a role that suppresses his best qualities, which are winning the ball and going forward by either carrying the ball or finding a pass and making a run.

Time to move on, we aren’t getting this level of exciting young player this summer with the other big clubs circling.

We're not getting him. Without the CL, we have to look at cheaper alternatives with decent potential that can maybe push us to the top.

This is why you set up a deal for a new manager and new players in advance you absolute fecking muppets.

I agree. Ruiz would be well suited, I think. But we cant afford both. Maybe neither. I think Haidara would be an interesting and cheap option if we are looking at a good option.

Do you think Boubacar Kamara would be a good foil to Tchouameni to allow him to go forward?
