Starship Troopers is just plain good. Was ahead of it's time when it came out. Just remember being blown away at the cinema when I saw it first time.They really weren't. I agree with the sentiment though, they're great action flicks, although con air is cheesy as feck and face off is beyond ludicrous, but that's part of the charm.
