Any chance of getting him in even if we keep Lukaku?

Lukaku, Sanchez, Rashford and Yedder would be 4 striker options. We always had 4 strikers fighting it out in the past.

Martial is a left winger.
Nah id think United already know Lukaku is gone . Inter will up the offer to probably around 65 mil in total and it looks like we already have Ben Yedder done which i for one am more than happy with. A quality CB and one or two midfielders and i think we will have had a very good window for a change

You're absolutely right in that short players can be very strong on the ball. Hazard is no Peter Crouch but his fantastic balance and "low centre of gravity" (fat arse) meant he rarely got shrugged off the ball.

I was thinking more of being an threat in the air at set pieces and bringing down long balls from the back. Going from 6'3" to 5'7" Yedder is a difference!

I say him being short is the best thing for us. You see, our players can't cross the ball anyways.

I hope it is true, he is the right kind of striker i want to see here. There arent many better strikers available for that price.

Yeh I have. Was tipped about him by a Polish colleague at work. Tipped him a couple years ago to get a move to a big club and move ahead of Lewandowski for Poland in the future. He wasn't wrong and unfortunately I've seen him prove himself in Serie A ever since.

Piatek is a poacher, in the same mould as Icardi. Wouldn't add much to your overall game. A typical LVG specialist striker
This is what I have also heard. He is a poacher and is no different to Lukaku.

Luuk De Jong to sevilla. Looks like Ben Yedder to us has legs

Really ? That is definitely interesting! It up the stakes for sure. Good news all round then . This lukaku deal will probably happen in the next couple of weeks

Hopefully, at least for me. He is good mates with Pogba as well, so a good understanding on the pitch would be nice too. Not that i think Pogba will stay for more than another season here

Looks really talented in his YouTube highlights. Not just a goal poacher.

Pogba could do with a mobile striker who knows where the ball is going to be played without having to telegraph it!

Reminds me a bit of Suarez actually - (thankfully for his footballing ability, not his ability to be racist and/or eat people).

Someone sell me on him. I don't know a whole lot but for a 28 year old striker his stats seem a bit underwhelming. But I guess he might at least have another 3 peak years ahead of him.

Perfect for United then :drool::drool::drool:
Ben could play in EL/cup run and others (Rash/Tony) in the league run.
God help us if those two are our starting strikers for the upcoming season. What is our record for the lowest number of goals scored in a season?

People who watch La Liga will know he's not limited. Would be a good addition. Has a great track record in Europa too. Our current strikers dont have that.

He's definitely not just a goal poacher. When I first became aware of him when Valencia were linked with him many seasons ago, he was scoring 14-15 goals a season in France while other players were scoring a fair few more than that. I could see that he was technically good and could find a teammate etc. but he didnt exactly look the next big thing with that goalscoring record.

But last season he scored and created more goals as well as overall probably being Sevilla's best player that season.

Looks a good choice, will be an improvement from Lukaku from last season at least.

Never stops moving in the box.

Surprisingly good at holding up the ball for his size and a very good technical footballer. I think he’s underrated because everything he does looks quite scrappy.

A few optimistic posts that he would be coming to play right wing... think he would be coming to back up rashford. We would still see plenty of him though.

This is one of those transfers that just makes sense. We are missing a clinical striker, and he looks like a good value for money signing.

Hope we can get this one done quickly, as it looks pretty straight forward.

Fred maybe, Matic, no way. He is finished.
Now I am in no way a fan of Matic, but tbf to him he did have an injury and then underwent surgery before the season started and then was immediately put back in the team the moment he came back. That was on the back of a WC campaign, so he did not have much rest, nor a proper pre-season last year.

Maybe some time off could do him good, although that is just me trying to be optimistic. Realistically, I think he is finished as well, and Fred will probably be given the role.

I still think Matic has a use, off the bench, definitely not as a starter. As far as I'm concerned our club ruined him by running him into ground any chance we got.

He’s a rip-off Suarez. Endless work ethic, can look scrappy with the ball but is always moving dangerously in the box.

He’s an average striker.

He’s the pure fundamental of what we need out of a striker. Someone that just does the dirty work in the box and moves with intention and intelligence like RVP did in the box

I imagine this implies we've probably agreed to sell Lukaku then? I can't imagine they'd sign someone without knowing they'd sell him

Yep. I think Lukaku to Inter is a goer all the signs are there, they're just trying to stump up the cash.

We've obviously informed Sevilla we are going to activate the clause as soon as it happens, maybe they wanted to sign a player first before making it all official?

I don't know what Sevilla's squad is like and whether they needed a new striker anyway, but it all seems coincidental.

I could see him getting at least 15 goals and assisting 10+. This is based purely on my limited knowledge of the striker and his card on Fifa.

I would go for Dembele instead as he is a lot younger and he has played in Britain so can handle the rough stuff and that includes the weather.

I think he could do really well for us. You know players who many thought were going to be superstars, some of them do, some don’t and some will be really good at a later stage in their careers. I think Yedder is in the last category.

If we sign him can his chant be based on a Pearl Jam song?
I doubt most match-going fans know a PJ song, nevermind who Eddie Vedder is.

Having said that, perhaps when he scores:

Wissam Ben-Yeeeedder
Scoooores
Again

(To the tune of "Jeremy"...not the most uplifting song to sing but a few of PJ's most famous ones are a bit dark anyway).

Agreed, he should have been used more sparingly. The signs of his physical decline were there in his last season at Chelsea, but Jose loved him and was always in the side, even when it was obvious he needed a break.
