Does seem like this went from 0-100 real fast, and out of nowhere. Those are usually the ones with something to it, the press seem confident.
If Ben Yedder is the first choice ahead of Aubameyang, this one will probably be done very quickly after Lukaku is tied up. Sevilla have already signed Luke De Jong today, could be a potential replacement.
Got to say, I'm rather excited about this potential transfer.
We need better, it would be a pointless addition.
Better than having Rashford as our only striker
He’d be an upgrade on Lukaku and that’s all that matters right now. There’s other areas that need more funding.
Yet he’d instantly be our best striker, that doesn’t rely on crosses.
We can’t rely on our attack alone currently.

I think this would be an excellent signing if we can pull off for the 35m quoted. Get 70m in for Lukaku and then put the extra 35m towards Sancho.
I’ve only seen this lad in the odd game a season when I happen to stumble across a Sevilla game but he definitely has more tenacity and build up play ability than Lukaku and we definitely need that.

I had only heard of Jesus in passing and even then I thought he had died a few years back -- how wrong was I?!

Benzema - 31, Just scored 21 goals for a struggling Real side
Surarez - 32, not what he was but still very good (21 Goals in 33 league games last year)

I mean, Sane and Sterling had already grown a lot of attention when city pounced on them, they where both very coveted youngsters admired by many. As for Agüero, he was already world class before he switched to City.
On the other hand, Ben Yedder is by himself an stablished center forward, who came to the attention of Europe when he was scoring goals for fun at Touluse. Has done excellent in Sevilla as well. He's also a regular for France NT at the moment. So is not about being "known" or "herd of". And is not about him not being good footballer
...Just don't see him as an upgrade on any forward line of top-four teams across the big leagues in Europe. Don`t see any top teams getting better by him. All due respect.
Could also be a replacement for André Silva, isn’t his loan deal up?
Is there a comparably proven striker out there available for anywhere near the quoted price for Ben Yedder? I cannot think of many TBH more over a striker who would replace and improve on Lukaku (not saying he is better per se but in terms of how Utd play) and still give plenty of room for Rashford, Martial and Greenwood.
We definitely need options and given the specifics it is a very hard position to fill and not completely upset the apple cart, Yedder may come in and be so good he cannot be dropped or moved around, but bring in a £100m striker and immediately you have Rashford and Martial living permenantly on the wings.

Before Aguero got to City he was already know as probably the best young striker in the world.
Sterling was liverpool's best young talent since gerrard
Sane was the most exciting prospect out of Germany when he was signed.
They were all top exciting propsects.

When I think about it. Getting this guy as Lukaku's replacement is being done with Greenwood's development in mind.....
This is what I've been thinking about certain signings we could make and I think in the case of a Centre Forward or Centre Back, signing a more experienced player who is going to give us about three good years while taking pressure off Martial/Rashford to score, or the reliance on Sanchez to stay fit and come good is the right decision. It also, as you say, gives more time to develop our younger forward players.
I'd be fine with the same at CB. If we think Tuanzebe is going to be the one, we could sign Alderweireld to play with Lindelof and let Axel develop for 2-3 years. It'll be good to have some experienced heads around when you look at how many players we're pumping into our first-team squad around the ages of 21-24. By the time these lads hit their peak the 'old guard' will be trotting off and our new youngsters coming in. It could be really exciting in a few years time.
