Blank Screen Issue

Hi guys. Having an issue when browsing the caf where the threads will load up fine, but whilst scrolling down the page the screen just goes blank and i need to go back and reload to view the page again. It happens pretty up every 20 seconds or so, possibly an ad triggering something on my work laptop? Using Chrome.

same problem Edge, sometimes with a security warning, and when clicking advance it shows a weird URL that's definitely not the caf so I also suspect something to do with an advert trying to redirect

Have been getting the old McAfee security alert yet again. Also know it happens when I click on The Independent which is worrying.

Went into cookie settings to block third party cookies and now the screen often goes blank or I get a ‘dangerous website’ alert for the Caf.

Have scanned my laptop for viruses and malware but there’s nothing there.
 
I have this issue and I thought that there was a thread on this already but when I went to find it, I couldn't locate it. Anyway, glad there's a thread on it and it's not just me. Need to refresh, sometimes get redirected to a dodgy domain. Using Edge but I think I have the same issue on Chrome (did last time). Makes the site almost unusable on my laptop. Tends to happen as I scroll towards the very bottom of any given page.
 
McAfee warning, blank screen as if redirecting to another site.

If any of you do see security alerts containing URLs different to the one @Grib posted, please post images here to help Niall track them down.
 
I’ve reported this and it is being looked into.

As Damien suggested, please grab a screenshot and the URL you’re redirected to when this happens and PM it to me. That way I can get the offending ad identified and blocked.

I got this in the Trump and Musk threads and just thought they were on to me, so didn't go back in again.
 
To me it looks like it could be an advert that redirects to an insecure url (http rather than https) that your work systems are blocking.

Niall may be able block individual ads (I'm guessing he can't blanket ban ads with insecure urls) but, assuming that this is the issue, the chances are another ad will do this again, and in the end it is a client side system (Cloudflare, Firewall, Virus software or simialr) that is producing this issue, which is outside the Caf's control.
 
touch wood I haven't had the issue today so far (don't know that anything's been changed)
 
Keep sending me screenshots and URLs by PM when it happens please, so I can get them blocked.

Yes correct. Malicious ads can slip through and have to be individually blocked as they’re identified.
 
Blank screen is a nightmare hit me non stop trying to post in the Premier League thread about Eze's penalty miss and had to save this as a draft numerous times as it hit me 4 times here too.

Can't offer anything more as it remains the same url.
 
Is anyone getting this on a non-work laptop? The answer is probably yes as most modern browsers block http links from https sites (which we are).

Niall can try to help by blocking after the fact if we can track down the offending advert (which isn't inherently or necessarily malicious BTW - just hosted on an insecure server - http vs https) but your work/device/browser security settings will block these whenever they arise I'm afraid.
 
I'm on my home PC and originally got the window I posted above, but the last few days it's just gone blank and no change in the URL.

That is with chrome.

It doesn't appear to be happening with Brave browser.
 
I'm getting it constantly on my home Windows PC too. The screen goes blank, but no change in the URL. If I refresh it takes me back to the page I was reading.

Viewing source on the blank page looks like the page I was reading but starting with this. It seems to happen towards the bottom of each page when the ads start to show.

Might be totally unrelated but when I am using my VPN to watch certain matches it never seems to happen. This is from my PC using Firefox.

Put the URL in a spoiler, have been really lucky tonight but the last 5/10 minutes have been same blank screen issue and the above url tried to do a redirect but Chrome said it was the wrong address.

Sods law have recorded my screen typing this and nothing has happened :lol: ffs.

It could be that you get delivered different location based adverts but more likely the VPN blocks dodgy ads or forces HTTPS where possible, which could unintentionally "fix" the issue. Or a combination of those things.
 
Not sure if the host has made changes but not had the issue this evening at all - I did this afternoon regularly.
