As I said, fair enough. But you can surely understand why most decent people tend to resist sexual objectification, particularly of women? Most of the time, as in this case, it's not pleasant.
I can understand being instinctively wary of objectification but I think a world where we get to choose when we're objectified and when we're not is what we should strive towards, rather than one where all objectification is seen as inherently bad.

Actually my favourite club is a good example of the differences between my kind of objectification and that which I don't like. It's common place for people to wander around the place in just their underwear. They also insist their bar staff only wear underwear. The former I think is fun, the latter makes me a bit uncomfortable.
The girl who did this was stupid. The organizers are despicable. Whoever is responsible for spreading the video is at best foolish and at worst heinous and mean spirited. There is a double standard in how society reacts to the men and women involved in these things. It's awful that people stalked her family and ruined her life. The way the media has capitalized on this is abhorrent. Doing what she did is not normal and while it is totally her choice to do so, it's not unusual for people to find it distasteful. porn is far from "professional"... whatever way you look at it porn is degrading, For men and women. That's their choice though to do it. How she can honestly attempt to convince anyone her job is professional is ridiculous. I know its hard work alright, they go through such degrading acts and its physically demanding for sweet fa. While writing this post, I've just realized that had this girl in the video been given an actual holiday and not a shot / cocktail... that'd probably cost more than what Brooklyn earns per shoot, far as I'm aware female porn stars are given in or around $300-500 per shoot. That'd vary, depending on the scene they do... the more they are willing to partake in (oral, unprotected sex, anal, etc) the more they earn.
As for the medically tested aspect of her comment, that too is fn ridiculous... Porn-stars are tested every 30/31 days (monthly) to continue in the industry... the thing is, porn-star A could get her test on Jan 1st for example, do a scene on Jan 5th after being given the all clear and contract HIV / Aids / Hep C / Herpes etc etc etc...she'd be none the wiser and would then pass it to numerous partners she works "professionally" with. The disease is only picked up on then on her next STI Check.

watched many a docu on it! Find it interesting, the mentality of someone who can do it and the workings of the industry etc... Again, Channel 4's documentary on the industry was fantastic.
Took 3 guys from England and sent them over to the porn capital of the world, San Fernando Valley. Each guy had the chance to meet their favorite porn star and go to porn shoots while there. All 3 of the guys pre visit to the states we're self confessed porn addicts and saw absolutely no harm in the industry. Defended it continually.
As their week in the valley unfolded, their opinions changed and by the end of the week all three had cracked and done a complete u turn on the industry. each of them was interviewed a month later and each had completely changed their opinions of the industry and how it objectified and abused women.

Again, people pass judgement on hookers and porn stars all the time. So it is weird to try and hold it up as being some sort of double standard. We can debate why this makes the papers, but lets face it not a regular enough occurence where it would not be a story.
End of the day you do something incredibly stupid especially in public you run a huge risk of being judged on it. And as far as I go, the only thing I am accusing her of is a bit of stupidity.
The difference is the public setting though, I think. In my opinion, the media hysteria over this incident is disgraceful and the way which the girl has been attacked through the internet is truly shocking. On the other hand, the vast, vast majority of people are not doing worse things in their own sexual lives when the public setting is taken into account. I would go so far to suggest that only a tiny, minor fraction of the population would consider performing sexual acts in such an environment. That is why it becomes news.
I know it's Magaluf and she was drunk and that drunken mistake shouldn't ruin the rest of her life. However, everyone knows that people carry mobile phones, everyone has access to a camera and video recorder, so you know the consequences of doing something which will attract attention.

Not really. Porn is filmed in a notionally professional and safe environment where I'd assume they make sure there's no risk of STIs. Presumably pay is agreed too, so there's not the scam element there is with this case. I'd say this is an entirely worse situation for the girl to be in.
That would be impossible and to be honest, they don't try that hard either. Heard it said a few times that if you're in the industry for any real amount of time, you inevitably have herpes.
Not that this is massively relevant. I'm just inclined to take opportunities to remind people that the industry their clicks fund does harm those involved in it.
Of course there is risk of STI's, read my comment above. They take measures sure, but it still happens quite frequently within the industry. A STI Check is performed every month, an STI could be contracted a day or two after a test, the performer then goes on to shoot 3,4,5 or however many scenes with numerous performers for the remainder of the month only to find out at the next STI Check, sorry you've an STI.
The reason I use porn as an example is because there are striking similarities, camera? check! sexual gratification? check! woman degraded? check! Pay / reward incentive? check!
The two aspects of it that are different to some degree are the setting, porn generally being shot behind closed doors whereas this was in public. Definitely no STI check for this poor girl (unless she has one when she gets home?) or the guys involved.
Then you go one step further and you've guys (not necessarily on here, some but not all) having a go at the girl saying she is a skank / slag / whore etc. Its societys mentality towards a woman with this type of incident.
