That is also very true ... be an interesting few months. That of course depends if they are capable of stabilising or simply being helpless to do anything as standards continue to disappear.

Absolutely. To be fair to Ashley he has appointed the only Premier League manager to have written mystery novels, so it's not all bad. That is also very true ... be an interesting few months.
I might be tempted one day when I have not got a lot on to read one. Have you had the pleasure of doing so? If so which one did you attempt?Absolutely. To be fair to Ashley he has appointed the only Premier League manager to have written mystery novels, so it's not all bad.
No one was having a pop when he was at Wednesday, another big club who I'd like to have seem him get promoted. But the context of this appointment is piss poor. Cheapskate owner of very big club with large and psychologically frail fanbase makes an inexpensive call knowing that Bruce is emotional about Newcastle and -given they are haemoraging their best players from an already bang average squad- appoints him with half an eye on relegation. It won't be fun watching him squirm on that touchline.I see the dislike for Utd legends goes beyond the Class of 92 on here. This forum attracts some of the weirdest Utd fans. Bruce has actually done as good a job as could be expected at just about every club he’s managed. Look at where Sunderland and Wigan have gone in comparison to what he did at those clubs, he managed to get an awful Hull side promoted as well. He’s a solid enough mid table manager. Newcastle are no more than that currently.
Then the focus should be on that. Not Steve Bruce Who is being portrayed as a much worse manager than he is.No one was having a pop when he was at Wednesday, another big club who I'd like to have seem him get promoted. But he is probably a much worse manager than Benitez. And if he's got miracle working tools in his locker they are yet to be seen. Then the focus should be on that. Not Steve Bruce Who is being portrayed as a much worse manager than he is.
He is but who else was queueing up for the job? A lot of it is based on him being an English manager and they’re all lumped together as if they’re exactly the same. But he is probably a much worse manager than Benitez. And if he's got miracle working tools in his locker they are yet to be seen.
How did two of Fergies captains end up so shite at management? He will be gone by December, and Newcastle will be gone by the end of April.
- Among the 33 managers to have managed 200 or more Premier League games, Bruce's win percentage of 28.1% (110 games in 392 games) is the second-lowest, ahead only of his former Manchester United team-mate Bryan Robson (26.8%).
Think Bruce has got one of if not the best record of all time getting teams out the championship and in to the prem. he’s a good manager he just always tends to be with championship/lower prem teams. How did two of Fergies captains end up so shite at management?
Hes a Championship manager who was never going to manage in the Prem again which is exactly what they were looking for, a yes man whos happy to be there and will take whatever hes given like Pardew Mcclaren and Roeder before him. Barring an untenably disastrous run of results he'll be there as long as he wants as long as he does as hes told. A club interested in competing would've backed the best manager they'll ever realistically have.He is but who else was queueing up for the job? What amuses me about all the comments is that he is no worse than the former legend who is currently in charge of us. Shows how far we have fallen. At least Bruce is probably of a right level for Newcastle.I see the dislike for Utd legends goes beyond the Class of 92 on here. This forum attracts some of the weirdest Utd fans. Solid appointment. Should finally get the fans on Mike Ashley's side.
Leading team by example (performing by playing) and managing people in a team are two totally different games. How did two of Fergies captains end up so shite at management?
Yeah, he's quite good at doing that.Think Bruce has got one of if not the best record of all time getting teams out the championship and in to the prem.
I’ve got nothing against Bruce and wish him well. I read an article about what a hard time Bruce is expected to have this season and recounting his managerial history, and it got me thinking “What about Chris Hughton for Sheffield United?”Could be a blessing in disguise for Sheffield Wednesday.
Chris Hughton is still available and would be a good fit for them I'd have thought.
A few years ago that would look immense, but getting sicknote 1 & 2 on the pitch would be an achievement.First signing looks like it will be Andy Carroll by looks of it.
Can see them starting season with strikerforce of him and Sturridge.
Hmm sounds like another United...Hes a Championship manager who was never going to manage in the Prem again which is exactly what they were looking for, a yes man whos happy to be there and will take whatever hes given like Pardew Mcclaren and Roeder before him.
