Never thought this comparison was even possible but believe it to be relevant as of late. Brunos stats wouldn’t quite stack up to de Bruynes, but in terms of importance to the team, consistantly putting in high level performances, AM skills, etc then I reckon the comparison would be valid. Also Bruno has more years left to continue at high level.

Anyone go for Bruno?

No.

Sorry.

De Bruyne is obviously a better player than Bruno.

(That isn't a slight on Bruno.)

De Bruyne obviously takes it.

I wouldn't swap them though. Love Bruno, for all his shortcomings he's an absolute machine when it comes to productivity.

Bruno isn't even more productive than KDB though, looking at all-time stats, he is a better goalscorer but worse at making assists.
And yes, i am adjusting for total games.

I've clearly said KDB is better, I'm just saying I wouldn't swap them. Bruno plays with a passion not a lot of players do and also happens to be super productive.

Their goal contribution in the Premier league both sit at around one every 1.5 games.

I know you said that, it just that even when it comes to his main "thing", KDB actually beats him there too.

For me, I compare them both as different kinds of killers.

De Bruyne gets the job done beautifully and effectively... no mess made.

Fernandes gets the job done, but it won't look as nice and there will be a bloody mess left behind.

Clearly KDB is a better player. Would be interesting to swap them and see the difference in performance but that can be said for loads of players.

Bruno is better than this KDB we’ve seen this season. It’s almost as if they’ve switched roles

I mean, I can’t be sure, but the timing of this seems coincidental with my post in recent match day thread comparing how De Bruyne and Bruno (I believe) both lose the ball quite a bit due to their high risk play style and regularly trying to play the killer pass.

Another poster mentioned the areas Bruno tried his flicks and passes in which is a fair comment, but the people slating Bruno for losing the ball so much likely don’t appreciate this comparison.

If both were assinans , kdb would take out the target in a few bullets, Bruno would need a few more to get there, when they go back to stats, there's not to much between them,

Bruno takes it in energy and ability to play every game and just keep on running.

De Bruyne wins on everything else

Bruno has been better this season.

And if the OP would be kind enough to put "2022-23 Season" at the beginning or end of the title then we can all go home in peace

I think Bruno is better in this United team, De Bruyne is better for his City.
Bruno intensity, mentality and leadership are qualities that we shouldn't take for granted especially in a team that isn't yet all conquering. De bruyne suit City more Rolls Royce set up were his finesse shines.
