Why? He’s won all there it is to win there so he could easily want a new challenge.

Also, if I leave my bank for another one thats offering more money…what exactly is the issue?
What’s this nonsense here. It’s obviously for the money, any other theory is bonkers. And that isn’t inherently bad, but you analogy is not good.

Gives me matic vibes this one but i dont even care. A midfield of a casemiero, Fred she eriksen is at least functional and not balanced. I cannot see McFred anymore. It bleeds my eyes

Still getting my head around this signing possibly being announced and people throwing up their hands in disappointment and/or anger.

Signing him would end any (however delusional) hope of a coherent transfer strategy.
Serious question. When was the last time your club had an actual strategy? Would have had to be Fergie era surely.

He's not coming for a new challenge. He's coming, or might be as he's not signed yet, because we are probably offering to double his wages.

Don't be so naive. Otherwise we could offer him same money surely?

My analogy is perfectly fine. I can take another job JUST for the money. Why does that mean I automatically will suck at my new job?

Also players want new challenges all the time. He’s spent his career there and won it all. Isn’t it possible he wants to try something else? Of course it is. Never said likely, the money is 100% a huge factor, but never rule out everything else just because its easy and feeds into the negative character of this place/around the club.

There is another angle to that, because Casemiro joining means we can FINALLY stop playing guys like Fred and McTominay out of positions. This IMO will turn things massively in our favour. And who knows, maybe, maybe if we put McTominay on the right side of midfield 3 and tell him to keep it simple, we might have an useful player.
Obviously, it is far from ideal, but it puts our midfield in a completely different situation.
This is also why I was against buying De Jong since we can't put around him players who would get the best of him. With Casemiro, it's a different story.
Not having to play McFred duo together is a victory in itself!

Can't get excited about this at all. Isn't this exactly against what Rangnick said we should be doing? Brazilians aren't necessarily known for their longevity either. Awful planning and management as usual by United.
They are none for their longevity as much as any other nation. I mean in the past 10-15 years we have Lucio, Ze Roberto, Dani Alves, Pepe, Miranda, Thiago Silva, Thiago Motta, Fernandinho and many others.

There is no issue at all. There ain't a single player who doesn't play for money. We just have to be sure it's not JUST for money

Hopefully we manage to sign a second midfield as well. Casemiro alone, albeit a massive improvement, would not resolve all of our issues in the middle.

If he joins and plays on Monday, I hope he destroys those scouser feckers.

FINALLY some steel and character in the midfield instead of the softies we have now.

I actually can’t believe they’re are people saying walk away from this
I'm certainly not saying that. He's a top player. I'm just playing devils advocate and wondering why he'd leave the current Spanish and CL champions to play in the Europa League.

It's a risky deal even though he's a good player.

Casemiro in the market can get any wage he wants.
What more of a challenge is there to move to the best league in the world? Where’s the lie?

That's on him. You just can't afford not to see our glaring weakness. It was quite clear we needed a new midfield . If it took 3 months to know.about it for a coach like him , then I do have worries.

It would be a good signing for Manchester United but I would not sell him just yet. We apparently are loaded in his position but overall the team still lacks reinforcements in other areas and Kroos is already on his last legs, and specially I don't think the team is going to sell him this late on the window.

Anyway I'm sure he's not that much interested unless United plans to put him on obscene wages.
Interesting, As Madrid fan, wouldn't you think that Valverdi, Tchouameni & Camavinga are excellent young CMs, and should be ready to perform now?

Me! Plus Varane vibes - if he was that good they wouldnt be selling him! Club is a dumpster fire - why would he want to come here other than money.........
Yes like they didn’t sell Robben, Ozil, Di Maria (who had a very good career after his one season here), Kovacic, Hakimi, Ødegaard, Theo Hernandez, Makalele, Xabi Alonso etc

He knew - hence why we’ve been chasing De Jong since day one

He's leaving a top team to join one that's massively off the pace. It's the money mate.

I think he's a top top player but these deals come with red flags. Di Maria and Sanchez were top players too. They came for the money and look how that went for us.

Let's hope if we get him it's different this time and he stays humble and grafts.

Very good player. But strange move to make a big investment in a CM who will be 31 before the end of the season, but I suppose long term concerns go out the window when your desperate
