I mean I doubt it's Potter making them.Shame Erik isn't allowed to make appointments like this due to clowns who have run us into the ground for last 9 years
Love the sarcasm in that responseI mean I doubt it's Potter making them.
Our structure doesn't need new people when it has the brilliant of John Murtough and Darren Fletcher.
Let’s be honest. you’d heard of neither of them until Chelsea picked them up.Shame Erik isn't allowed to make appointments like this due to clowns who have run us into the ground for last 9 years
Why would a manager make these appointments? Potter didn’t even make these appointmentsShame Erik isn't allowed to make appointments like this due to clowns who have run us into the ground for last 9 years
It is 8 weeks at most apparently. No idea where out for the season came from hahaWhere did you hear James is possibly out for the season? Can you link it on here? Max out i have seen is 8 weeks at a stretch.
I’d imagine it’s the Pavlovian expectation to the phrase “possibly out for the World Cup”Where did you hear James is possibly out for the season? Can you link it on here? Max out i have seen is 8 weeks at a stretch.
Look who posted it. I'm surprised he didn't post a eulogy for Reece. It is 8 weeks at most apparently. No idea where out for the season came from haha
ah yes. I wondered why we hadnt heard from him in here recentlyLook who posted it. I'm surprised he didn't post a eulogy for Reece.
He's seeing a specialist:Where did you hear James is possibly out for the season? Can you link it on here? Max out i have seen is 8 weeks at a stretch.
Yep. Although you don’t go to see a specialist if it’s a minor injury. He's seeing a specialist:

Doesn't mean he's out for a long time yet, certainly possible given we're taking the step of sending him to a specialist, we'll find out next week.
This just isn’t true of elite athletes. They’ll have a specialist for everything bigger than a twisted ankleYep. Although you don’t go to see a specialist if it’s a minor injury.
It’s absolutely trueThis just isn’t true of elite athletes. They’ll have a specialist for everything bigger than a twisted ankle
Shameless wummery, Iove it.I’m wondering if Chelsea will dip into the market January, even if a loan deal on a RB? I know this hasn’t been successful for them of late but someone like Wan Bissaka could be available to help Azpilicueta in that area.
Not at all. He’s the kind of player Potter would love to work his magic onShameless wummery, Iove it.

Didn't Chelsea sack all their medical staff and send Fofana to a specialist in the US for his fitness test? I think the medical staff at Chelsea isn't trusted by the board and they're going to people top of their field in the US for answers instead.Yep. Although you don’t go to see a specialist if it’s a minor injury.
Not sure? Wouldn’t surprise me the way Boehly is operating. It’s always pantomime season at the Bridge.Didn't Chelsea sack all their medical staff and send Fofana to a specialist in the US for his fitness test? It's not the fact I haven't heard of them more that they are actually appointing Football people not just promoting existing onesLet’s be honest. you’d heard of neither of them until Chelsea picked them up.
Neither were their first choice or preferred candidates either.
We will see how everything works out but can’t be much worse than United’s appointments over the last 10 years. It's not the fact I haven't heard of them more that they are actually appointing Football people not just promoting existing ones
Here we thought you were the expert on our club. As long as we are having a pantomime why don’t you pull up a seat and enjoy the show because from where I’m sitting, there has yet to be any obvious mistakes. But I know you’ll be there ready to shout “he is behind you” if we end up slipping up somewhere. Not sure? Wouldn’t surprise me the way Boehly is operating. It’s always pantomime season at the Bridge.
Isn’t that because everybody left? It's not the fact I haven't heard of them more that they are actually appointing Football people not just promoting existing ones
Well, that’s not true. You, me, or the banker down the street would t go see a specialist for a minor injury .Yep. Although you don’t go to see a specialist if it’s a minor injury.
‘Football people’. So United don’t have football people at the club? Why is it a shame we haven’t got these two considering they are way down the list of who Chelsea actually wanted? What are we missing out on?It's not the fact I haven't heard of them more that they are actually appointing Football people not just promoting existing ones
I was shouting the warning ‘he’s behind you’ when most of you were adamant Roman was going nowhere a few months ago.We will see how everything works out but can’t be much worse than United’s appointments over the last 10 years.

Good opinion piece but as I say you don’t take a player to see a specialist if it’s something straightforward. That’s why clubs have their own highly qualified Doctors and medical facilities.Well, that’s not true. You, me, or the banker down the street would t go see a specialist for a minor injury .
Elite athletes should see a specialist anytime there is even a minor question.
The moment I saw “LCL” I was surprised they were just letting him walk around on it, even with braces, before being seen by one.
The reason: LCL injuries that “only” involve the LCL are extremely rare. Generally the LCL is injured in conjunction with things like knee dislocations. If there was a trauma to the knee that caused the joint to dislodge, but then pop back into place (as an example) then they need to rule out non ligament damage to different parts of the knee.
Even if the damage is solely to the LCL, they would then need to decide on whether surgery or long term healing is the best route. If the ligament was fully torn he would already be lined up for surgery. My suspicion is the initial scans showed a strain with a lot of inflammation. A second scan, with the inflammation down probably showed a partial tear.
At that point you have to decide whether to let it heal naturally, or whether it would be better to do a clean separation of the ligament and a surgical repair.
And that’s not the type of thing you go to a team physio or team medical director for anyway. In America, teams have official affiliations with top hospitals and surgical centers. The Dodgers have an official partnership with UCLA medical center which is cutting edge, and even then they go specialists in places like New York if a player faces something daunting.
The fact that “team doctors” would even presume to think they should be the last word on things like Fofanas previous injury evaluation, or how to proceed with Reece is just weird.
Clearlake will do what’s best for James, and they will have the medical team they want and the specialist and surgical affiliations they want, even if they have to build their own clinic.
I would just like to see us appoint someone who has knowledge of the british and european market which isn't Murtough for me‘Football people’. So United don’t have football people at the club? Why is it a shame we haven’t got these two considering they are way down the list of who Chelsea actually wanted? What are we missing out on?
Me thinks you have no idea and just saw it as an opportunity to have a moan.
I was shouting the warning ‘he’s behind you’ when most of you were adamant Roman was going nowhere a few months ago.
I just have a rounded footballing knowledge. Not specific to Chelsea. I’m a student of the game.
Good opinion piece but as I say you don’t take a player to see a specialist if it’s something straightforward. That’s why clubs have their own highly qualified Doctors and medical facilities.
As confirmed the injury is worse than first thought hence the specialist referral.
Why isn’t it him?I would just like to see us appoint someone who has knowledge of the british and european market which isn't Murtough for me
Out until 2024 apparently.Sounds like Reece James is out for the World Cup and rest of the year
Poor lad is desperate to get back for the WC with England.8 weeks for James, and no surgery. 8 week timeframe is being conservative.
He'll back within that no bother.Poor lad is desperate to get back for the WC with England.
8 weeks is 2 months? Sadly this has all the hallmarks of a rushing back and cutting corners for the WC job. From "out for the season" to "less than 2 months". I'll take that.
8 weeks is less than 2 months, unless he's missing 2 Februarys.8 weeks is 2 months?
Loss for England and James but the WC helps Chelsea here quite a lot. 8 weeks works out to 11th of December from now. That's a big loss and a shame for England especially with Trent's nonexistent form.
