So what? he has better out put and link up play also a better passing range than wingers as well. Doesn't seem to be a problem with spurs.

Also besides we better not be too dependent on Pogba for creativity and playmaking.
Nope. He plays in midfield for Spurs. Enough of signing players and putting them out of position. Why should we buy Eriksen when we could actually buy a specialist for the position? Don't get me wrong he's a very talented footballer but we don't need. Pogba as the creative outlet with support from Fred and pacy narrow front three Rashford/Martial/new RF is enough. We need a Salah type forward to complete our front line. Leaving us with Martial, Sanchez, Rashford, new RW and Lukaku who could find himself pushed further down the pecking order. Hopefully we get the RB position sorted as well and with these two signings our entire attack will be transformed

Would love him here but fear it’s going to be Daniel Levy who will prove to be the stumbling block yet again.

You place a lot of faith in Fred.
I do. I think it's a matter of time before he establishes himself in the team. He's got all the attributes to be a success in the PL. There were some doubts about Lindelof and second season look at the improvement. Fred will be the same.

We have practically exhausted all our options at this point unless our scouts unearth a Martial type player for the right wing.

Also whenever I see spurs play I see him deployed on the right in a 4231. He's a attacking midfielder who is deadly in front line as well.

Also Sancho ain't leaving Dortmund so early.

No thanks. Not sure he'd be effective alongside Pogba in midfield. The only way he'd be a good fit is if he played at the tip of a diamond, or if we had a much better DM.

Genuinly nice guy off the pitch too. I helped him once with dinner reservations when I worked as a concierge here in Stockholm. Him and his girlfriend were very friendly people.
That's really screwed my idea of him. I always thought he looked like a cnut. Mixed feelings now.

There is still Nicolas Pepe at Lille available.

I think he's going to have to drop deeper at his next club. Top clubs don't play with a No 10 anymore. It's a dying position.

I would love us to sign him especially if we are planning on playing 4-2-2-2 or something.
But right now, defence has to be our priority and a backup ball playing DM

CB is of course a priority. But do we honestly feel we are well covered in terms of a playmaker?

Ive met him and he's actually pretty shy/timid/down to earth if I had to pick words for it. He didn't assume I knew who he was.

Kinda polar opposite of Memphis or so

Where would you play him?
Replace Mata. Hes plays that position for Spurs anyway starting wide and drifting. He doesnt play at a central 10. Of course is means we need a really good RB

Right wing. He’s a whole tier better than Juan Mata in that position.

I'd prefer another 20+ goal player on the right tbh. I think Eriksen and Pogba in front of a DM can work. Eriksen works his balls off for Poch, and Pogba will have less of the creative load in the middle.

We still haven't replaced Valencia and Young. Dalot is very good prospect but we need another RB and finally stop relying on over the hill wingers. TFM is better in the middle.

Eriksen is a top quality player and as a Dane I would love to see him at United. He is also really humble (almost boring) off the pitch, and it just seems like all he wants to focus on is football - he almost has a Scholes-type personality. In recent years, he has also taken a lot more responsibility in the national team, basically dragging Denmark to the World Cup with his goals.

I'm not so sure how he would fit into the side, though. Against weaker teams he could probably play with Pogba and a DM in midfield, but not sure that would be sufficient coverage against better sides. Putting him on the right would be a shame, in my opinion. Typically he is much better in the central areas, and our team is crying out for a RW able to beat a man with pace and trickery - Eriksen is not that guy.

Most likely he will end up in Barcelona or Madrid, I think.

Rumour is a club made him an offer a month ago that has turned his head.
Wasn't Jose sacked a month ago?...

Pretty please.. If an offer turned his head then I assume it's financials and not necessarily the coach. He seems to be the kinda player who loves what United is now doing again with Ole and our young players - being an Ajax product in a sense.

I've said it a million times starting when it became clear he was leaving Ajax - he is as much a fit for United as much as about any of our past greats. We should have gone all out for him at the time.

Did anything else come out about his supposed stomach problem or whatever it was, can’t remember now! Suppose a medical takes care of that! So yes, he’d be great though we need a defensive monster behind him and Pogba.

Or he might have got word that a certain Spurs coach has made a decision..

He's so much better than I thought he'd be. A better player than Mata at his peak and for his brutal consistency, he's not far off Silva at this point. At the beginning I thought he looked a decent and reliable playmaker but he's been a pivotal player in a really good team for such a long time now. Even when he was getting good he seemed workmanlike. Now he regularly does special things and makes things look as easy as the very best playmakers to ever play in England.

He's become a fabulous player, would be an absolutely perfect replacement for Modric at Madrid which is where I think he'll go in the summer

Except for the end of the match, I think he was pretty invisible.

His second-half performance reminded me of when Scholes completely controlled the game against Spurs in the second half in September 2012. Didn't deserve to be on the losing side tonight.

Barca fecked up getting Coutinho and not him. Though they might get him anyway as he doesn't want to extend his contract seemingly. But such a brilliant footballer.

I agree with this. Everything they did came from wide.
He gave us a problem with his positioning but he did little with the ball to hurt us.
