The lot of them were my childhood heroes, that doesn't mean I have to agree with what they're doing.

Since May they have changed kit colour and the badge, some of their loyal fans aren't happy with all the corporate stuff going on (many follow Non League football to get away from the celebrity rubbish that can come up in the PL).

They're also buying players from 2/3 divisions higher and putting them on massive wages (300 a week + when a lot in that league play for much less) Certainly putting the City into Salford City.

Love is Blind
Saw an interview with Phil Neville after the game, he declined to comment on his views on Manchester United this coming season, Gary could be heard telling him to say nothing behind the camera.

Scholes could still do a job for us if he came back. Watching him pick apart this Bayern all-star team and its just unfair the amount of space Scholes manages to find for himself.

Not sure if this is the right place to put this but I just didn't want to dig up an old thread for just one post.

This is why I love him. Just typical Schoels.

It'd be hard for us to find such a talented bunch of players who work almost like clockwork. Our youth team doesn't seem to be throwing up the same type of superstars as we have seen in the past but then it's difficult to have so many players come through at once.

Tbf in recent years we've had Pogba, Ravel, Mats Daehli, Rossi, Adnan, Welbeck, and Cleverley come through and now have the likes of Keane, Blackett, Lingard, Wilson, Pearson, Rothwell, and Andreas waiting to breakthrough.

Salford City: Peter Lim joins ex-Man Utd stars at Evo-Stik club

Peter Lim, who tried to buy Liverpool and is set to take over Valencia, has acquired a 50% stake in Evo-Stik Division One North club Salford City.

Ex-Manchester United quintet Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt, who agreed to take over the club in March, will have 50% ownership.

In a statement, they said businessman Lim's experience would be "invaluable".

The takeover is subject to Football Association approval.

Singapore-based self-made billionaire Lim, 61, is estimated by Forbes to be worth £1.5bn, but withdrew a £320m bid to buy Liverpool in 2010.

The Neville brothers, Giggs, Scholes and Butt say they have known Lim for more than 10 years, and expect "exciting times" for Salford City, who are top of their league in the eighth tier of English football.

They said: "When we set upon this journey we always knew at some point we wanted external partners involved, people who would share our vision for Salford City FC.

"Peter's love of sport, above all football, is well documented. He has an incredible track record in business as well as youth and community engagement, especially at grassroots level. Peter's experience and knowledge can help take the club to where we believe they can be."

A spokesperson for Lim said the businessman was impressed with the vision of the Class of '92 players and he shares a common belief "in youth development through sport".

Salford's current chairwoman, Karen Baird, said: "The formal process of the takeover of the club has begun with the FA. It's been a great start to the season, we are very excited about the future for the club and what can be achieved.

"The most important aspect for us is that we continue to bond with our community and city and we have assurances this will happen."

Guess Mr. Lim finally found a club which didn't cost an arm and a leg.

It's also highlighting how much better the football from us was then. So many options for goals.
