It will work if Qatar walk. But that has only become clear recently. So Raine worked with Ineos for months on a deal that was never going to work

Yep, I fear it will be a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire if SJR wins.Neither owners are perfect, but surely with Ratcliffe we are going to be as bad burnt than scalded. We will still be in loads of debt, run by someone with a bad owner track record in football. At least with Qatar we will be in with a shout of major investment and silverware.
I’d stick to that plan and wait for news on the beeb or sky.Why do you feel it is blatantly obvious? I don't mean anything snarky by the way, I've not been in this thread in a while and I'm wondering if I've missed any important updates
It's all Welsh to meBeing from Wales, I can confirm its not in welsh.
Yes exactly, though "announcement in hours" seems additional. That article reads like a translation of the Bloomberg reports.

I get that, but the "blatantly obvious" assertion made it seem as if some sort of report has come outI’d stick to that plan and wait for news on the beeb or sky.
All we seem to do here is look at “ITK” tweets and argue about the validity of them
Rio's their source. Clearly.Yes exactly, though "announcement in hours" seems additional.
Its nothing. The paper saying according to reports and does not mention what reports. So most probably bs. Reading it with arabic context makes believe contradiction within the article itself.
Victor Meldrew has joined the CAFI don’t believe it
But secretly you do, right ?I don’t believe it
Of courseBut secretly you do, right ?
YesBut secretly you do, right ?
Good or bad feelingI don’t believe it
Well I want it to be true obviously. Not sure I want to get suckered itGood or bad feeling
To quote Logan Roy, that means they're "not serious people" but rather children arguing over the best toys. They aren't waiting a year and don't blame them
Pretty much the crux of it to be fair! Non-story probably. That article reads like a translation of the Bloomberg reports.
Yeah me neither, are you referring to the Bill Rice tweet or the Qatari news thing thenWell I want it to be true obviously. Not sure I want to get suckered it
But the point is that it's headlining on a semi-official Qatari newspaper. That article reads like a translation of the Bloomberg reports.
Hadn’t seen the Bill Rice thingYeah me neither, are you referring to the Bill Rice tweet or the Qatari news thing then
Check it out it's further up this pageHadn’t seen the Bill Rice thing
Do we take that as positive or negativeArticle states an announcement is expected in the coming hours according to sources within the inner circles.
They are not quoting other articles so make what you want out of that.
Yeah someone hits the bullseye eventuallyNothing from anyone credible, its all just rumours and people chancing their luck.
No that was Joel the gooner who works for themI think it's plausible that Rio Ferdinand has some insight into the club.
He's clearly passionate about it, and I recall he was good friends with Darren Fletcher during their playing days
I also don't think he stated at any point that there would be any news today?
What did Rio supposedly say ?
They're not saying its sourced in the inner circle. The article can be found below:Article states an announcement is expected in the coming hours according to sources within the inner circles.

Bolded bit is just taken from the recent Bloomberg article.Manchester United fans are awaiting a settlement of the fate of the club’s sale deal to the Qatari group led by Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, and it is expected that the Manchester United purchase contract will be signed by the Glazer family that owns the club within the next few hours, after the Qatari group entered a bid to buy the club against the offer. The competition is from British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe. Media reports indicated that those in the circle close to the Qatari file have now begun to express their confidence in the victory, and they believe that it is only a matter of time before the official announcement is made. Manchester United is considered one of the most valuable sports assets, and if it is sold for six billion dollars, it will become one of the largest sports deals ever. Manchester United officials are looking forward to achieving record annual financial revenues that may reach 640 million pounds in the current fiscal year, with Continuation of the ongoing efforts related to the acquisition of the club.
Agreed.

His exact words are: "Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. I was talking to Ornstein as well man. He's got good knowledge as well. But we've got good sources so..."
If United don't announce a sale off the back of that revelation, Rio is going to have egg on his face.
It’s almost like it’s an auction where multiple parties are competing to buy something.Just seen, true to form, that SJR is apparently resubmitting a new bid!
The Ying and Yang of update news is now very predictable.
Qatari’s close to announcing……SJR rebidding - and it just seems to go on and on….
