The 115 Charges against City is huge marker.
Whoever owns a football club will have to comply with FFP rules.

SJR is setting up a proper football structure which will in 3-5 years time help us winning titles again and after that start to dominate the English game.

Whoever is the manager next season will only have to focus on the team. He will have all the support he needs to succed.

Posting things like this when absolutely nothing has changed, and we're unable to buy a single player seems a little overexcited. There's some potentially positive news about the structure of the club. That's literally all. We're still in freefall, still a mess, and still poor as church mice.
Very good post. This thread has been a sometimes hilarious, sometimes grim example of the lengths fans will go to believe/discard reports depending on their pre conceived notions on owners/players/media/etc.

In reality very little has changed. Majority owners are still the same. The debt is still there. Investment in infraestructure is still needed. The good thing is that apparently the big issue of football operations is going to finally be addressed. But that's pretty much it, and of course, there's no guarantees there either.

We aren’t ‘poor’ though. We just can’t spend due to FFP primarily.

Only a huge marker if they get punished firstly, and then don’t have it overturned.

Jesus your posts really are insufferable in this thread. Are you actually an adult?
Hard to tell. Sounds a bit boring to be honest. :wenger:
I would however argue this thread needs a little joviality after 12 months of arguing, politics, ethics and morality.
It struck me as a welcome change after all the shilling for Qatar to see posters positive and excited about the future, realising that INEOS might not be the worst deal in the world and better days could be ahead. I was just making light of that is all (hence the winky face) If nothing else it stimulated a bit of discussion.
Apologies if this offended anyone.

There's nothing City has done that cannot by replicated by us within the next few years, except for hiring a GOAT-level manager.

However, Pep won't be around forever and whilst City will almost certainly stay around the top of English football, making the CL and challenging for the league every season, their dominance and status as being by far the best team in the world will definitely end after he's gone.

EDIT: I feel like most supporters don't really realize how much of a statistical anomaly we've been for the last 10 years. All we need is some competence at the top, and we can be similar to Madrid or Bayern: Always have a quality team, always be there or thereabouts in the CL and challenge for the PL every season. This club has everything to become that.
I really think this cant be stressed enough.

While people get their knickers in a twist calling for another manager, the bottom line is that our relative failure for 11 years is much much deeper then a manager.

Statistically speaking and based on money spent united should have 1-3 titles and at least one CL.

Yeah, huge indeed. Nothing has happened and they laugh in FFPs face

Imagine if Woodward had done all this back then and with all the money we've pissed up the wall over the years. Where would this club be today.
Exactly. people used to defend this idiot. Complete arrogant amateur. Though glazers even more stupid for allowign this clown to ruin things. Even with the Glazers we could have been real challengers and playing good football. We are seeing now what sensible management and decision making looks like.

I would think the word “additional” answers your question
I don’t understand what you mean

Isn’t the question why Evertons incoming owners can inject money into the club before their takeover is complete when Ratcliffe isn’t allowed to inject capital until it’s all ratified

Perhaps it's not that Ratcliffe isn't allowed to inject capital into the club until the deal is approved, but rather that he has chosen not to. I don't know any details about the Everton take over, but it's got to be more straight forward than the Ratcliffe/Glazers mess. Would you give 200 Million to the Glazers before you have any legal control over the club?

Perhaps I’ve jumped the gun. I thought the 777 group were already invested into Everton and as such they can add additional money. Let’s ask a bluenose @SilentWitness

I know and its even more infuriating that us as fans have more sense than Woodward and he was allowed to run the football side into the ground. Many here on the caf were calling for a shakeup on the exectuive side and to employ a best in class DOF.
Ineos comes in and not even a month goes by and already they're looking at doing the right things. It's not a guarantee for success but at least you know that there are likely going to be people in charge of the football side of the club that know their craft.

I'm even more angry now than when Woodward was here just because of how quickly it seems Sir Jim is moving to address some of the issues. Woody was entirely capable of doing the same in the years he was running this club.

He's a fecking shite stain on the history of this great club. Undoing all the great work of SAF because of his ego.

I'm sorry. Rant over.

I'm very optimistic for the future going on recent happenings.

They have an army of lawyers fighting the charges.
The reason is the punishments will not just be points deductions but league positions and possible setting aside their titles.

if Everton could get a10 point deduction, the punishment for what City's owners have done will be many times worse.

I'm sure the Saudis are watching how all this plays out before they spend huge amounts.

The other clubs are pushing this.

Possible brief to soften the blow of a potential Ten Hag sacking whenever it happens? "We tried to work with him but he wouldn't give up control of transfers."
What the feck sort of weak tenuous logic are you making up in your head?

It makes sense though? If it's true that he's contractually got a big say in transfers, and they want a structure that's not dependant on the coach to plan long term, then it's clearly a potential problem.
It doesn’t make any sense. He has 18 months left on his contract, the new footballing structure and appointments are unlikely to be bedded in and have their strategy solidified and matured before this summer and unless ten Hag does something amazing this season they’re not going to be under any pressure to come up with excuses if they choose to replace him. Conversely if they want him to stay on and he wants a contract extension then they have the opportunity to renegotiate that clause.

What are you riled up for? It's called speculation. It's all most of us on the outside of this process can do at the moment.

They obviously will be under pressure to come up with an excuse as Ten Hag still has a fairly healthy amount of support from the fan base. Even on this forum his support sits at roughly 50/50 despite all the bad results. There's little chance they're sacking Ten Hag even at the end of the season without coming up with some good PR excuse for it. Ineos are new here and need to prove they're not going to just change managers without good reason and long-term strategy.

Regardless of any of this, Ratcliffes investments are written into his purchase agreement as further purchase of shares, I imagine the major stumbling block is that without ratification the deal would not apply if he were to invest before all the t's are crossed and I's dotted.

They are not only trying to put the right people in place, also willing to tap into how things were done pre 2013 by speaking with Fergie and Gill.

Surely if there is three candidates for Head of Recruitment then would be another one for Sporting Director but who is the question?

To build on your point, I also feel like a lot of people don't realize how much of an anomaly Pep is when it comes to league campaigns. I know it's a weird thing to say about a manager who many would say is in the GOAT category, but Pep does not get enough credit for this. I've never seen a manager who is able to strangle the life out of a league campaign like Pep can. We see it almost every season, where no matter how much of a lead another team accumulates, you always think city are still in it and can go on an insane run. They will not be at this level when Pep leaves. With the resources they have, they will always be there or thereabouts in terms of competing. That's not going to change and we have to get used to that, but they will become mortal like everyone else (best example being Liverpool) after Pep leaves.

"The results haven't been good enough for the money spent and control ceded to the manager" no one in their right mind can argue against that because the evidence is there for all to see.

If Ratcliffe aims to purchase say 20% of the club every 1-2 years, will we have to go through this owners test bollocks with every increase in his share?

Shouldn't have to. It's the Owner's & Director's Test so once they've passed once, that's it. From experience, in the Football League at least, I think they have to resubmit documents every 2 years but usually, they're just a formality.

Even if he doesn't do anything amazing, they'd have to give an excuse because half the fan base are deluded into thinking that he's still the best man for the job. And the poster you responded to did say 'whenever it happens' in regards to the sacking. Hell we might get top 4 and there's a big likelihood that he still isn't the man for the job. You think they wouldn't be questioned by half of the fan base that are happy to ignore performances and settle for a top 4 finish? If he achieved that, half of the muppets would be declaring him the best manager around, given that they do that now when it's total crap.

The Glazers put Ineos in place and let them run the club for them. Why is everyone pretending Ineos/Sir Jim runs the show now. They dont. Its still the Glazers. If Sir Jim is successful its because of the Glazers. I know its hard to hear but truth is truth.
