Joining up with Hit Boy seems to have given him a new lease of life. They are on some roll.

Meet Joe Black and Wave God's my favourite so far from Magic.

Asap really stepped up his game too on this
They really are, aren't they. Can't wait for KD3. Loved Wave Gods and Hollywood Gangster. Agree re ASAP. I really like bits of what I've heard of him in the past (1 Train is a banger) but have been tepid on others. He was great on this.

Not sure if this is in the right place but had a random playlist on and this song appeared;

Appreciate it’s a few years old now. Is it worth exploring more of his music? I love this kind of thing and reminds me a little of earlier Frank Ocean (Swim Good etc).

Any other recommendations? Love this.

The Devault remix of Switch is amazing:

This is a good cover of Swim Good by Indiana, too:

Don't have an answer to your Q though, have only heard one other 6lack track.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll have a listen tomorrow.

How about any other similar tracks (any artist) in that kind of style? Looking to add to my playlist!

If no one else has told you yet, yes it absolutely is worth exploring more of his music, 6lack is fantastic.
I personally prefer his first album, it's a bit more moody, solemn and more like Frank Ocean's "blonde" whereas his second album is a bit more uptempo.

Saba is also a really good artist, he's a rapper but he's melodic & rhythmic so he bends the two genres a bit.

This is one of my favourite songs from him

Heres a song with Saba, 6lack & Smino (also another really good artist)

Others to check out; SiR, Masego, Lucky Daye, James Blake.

If you specifically just want some lo-fi-type instrumentals then look into J Dilla and also Nujabes, their styles heavily birthed a lot of these beat styles that these types of artists use.

Kid Cudi might be worth checking out.

Thank you both!

Much appreciated. I only know Cudi (very underrated IMO) so I’ll add the other tracks to my play list and let you know.

6LACK is great and yeah that Saba album is superb. Great storytelling.

A few more good 6LACK songs are Pretty Little Fears feat. J Cole and also Stan.

Maybe give Choker a listen as well @TheReligion. Songs like Juno, Petrol Bliss & Lucky give off very Blonde Frank Ocean vibes.

Thank you!

Added them too. Nice to find something different to put on the list!

Didn't realise Nas released yet another album at the tail end of last year...

It’s amazing. They’ve managed to make something sound really new but also really nostalgic. Nas is having a fine Indian summer.
Hit Boy has really turned up on the last few Nas albums and of course, Nas' flow is on point, Kings Disease 2 is a fantastic album.

So one month?! Very exciting...it's been a minute. Hope it loves up to its predecessors.

I love rollouts like this. So many artists announce something and release singles from it for months and by the time it comes out you’ve been anticipating it for ages plus you’re sick of the singles.

Agreed entirely! I guess K dot doesn't need to build hype any more...he knows people are chomping at the bit.

Excited to listen to this later. Not even going to do it the disservice of listening while working.

So glad he continued The Heart series, mentioned many times is one of my favourite callback series he returns to.
The video was touching, loved that he referred to many people in popular culture who have gained notoriety particularly at their low points and showed grace to them in their vulnerability, instead of adding onto the pile-on like so many others.
Love the references to Jay-Z, Lauryn Hill, Nipsey, and many references to his own previous lyrics too.

Great track! Looking forward to the album.

There is a song/group I'm trying to find.

Song is around 5- 6 years old. They're riding around on BMXs around some suburb type neighbourhood and that's literally all I remember.

Any thoughts?
