So is any fan or pundit still defending him? I am sure there is one or the other moron

Of course Rio is. He is saying that the ETH should treat him differently because he is Ronaldo and should have communicated with him better. What should ETH do? Write a polite letter and sign at the bottom, Your Obedient Servant? Feck people like Rio. People like him are why this club has not been able to get out of this trough we are in.

Don’t buy his bullshit about the glazers and club infrastructure. It’s like telling the world that Manchester is often wet. He’s throwing that in to the mix to get some backing behind his rant which is designed to be all about him. Yep, more quotes confirming he’s a tool.
I can't buy into this Glazer thing from someone that have a contract that is out of this world. Play for free and show that you care about club and football.

Fecking hell, Souness talks an unbelievable amount of shite. Goes on and on about this fictional meeting that he's made up in his own head. Clown.
It’s like he forgets that ultimately it comes down to performances. No manager is going to promise a player game time and stick to it regardless of performances.

The truth is Ronaldo has been dog shite when he’s played. We’ve looked shite when he’s played. All but 1 of our defeats have been when he’s played.

If he had actually performed and was helping the team play well, I’ve got no doubts ETH would be playing him virtually every game. Ronaldo just wants to completely deflect from the fact he ain’t that player he likes the world to think he is anymore. Absolutely no mention from him this season of how poorly he’s played. It’s just the rest of the worlds fault.

Souness is a fecking moron. The conversation ETH & Ronaldo had in the summer is irrelevant - because he's been shit whenever he's been on the pitch since then. It's not as if managers aren't allowed to change their mind after watching the equivalent of half a seasons football.

This is the guy who bought Ali Dia, and then had to sub him off in the same half. What a complete idiot.
There was no conversation or promises made. Souness made it up on air and carried on as if it were fact all because when he was a player..shite

He goes for the Glazers and says they don't care about the club, but if he cared about the club he wouldn't be doing that interview and saying those things. Or going for Rooney for seemingly no reason. Mad that he can't see how he's coming across to everyone watching.

He’s a weird bloke to be honest, not someone that Wayne or Gary would want to have dinner with I imagine. He reminds me of Michael Jackson in some ways.

Funny you should say that, I was thinking the same thing yesterday. It's proper fecking weird he's decided to go down the botox route (or whatever it is that he's had done) at the age of 37, especially when there was absolutely no need for it and it's made him look worse.

The killer part of it is that he complains that the club don't believe him, and then when asked why he wasn't in the side today he said that he was asked to be on the bench but he told them that he was ill.

Guy isn't on the same page as himself.

Florentino Perez is on the phone with Arnold: "I told you that he didn't invent warm water."

It’s a shame because it seems parts of his interview are spot on and limited to those parts would have gotten backing and support from the fans; particularly about the Glazers and declining infrastructure.

Those messages will get lost in all the other dross that he’s said which quite rightly puts him squarely in the firing line from fans.

From what has been released so far, it’s so contradictory and I have absolutely no idea what he’s trying to say.

This whole thing is weirder or at least as weird as that thing Griezmann did when he did like 3 parts of a "documentary" to reveal his new club only for it to turn out that he was just staying at Atletico.

Within minutes of Ronaldo saying the Glazers only care about marketing

Slagging off Wazza and G. Nev.

We had plenty of Ostriches with their head in the sand on this forum saying Ronnie didn’t blank Neville and it was just a quick hello to Saha. Ronaldo confirming he’s a childish spanner.

Piers is absolutely lapping this up with the incremental leaks. He’s licking his lips at trying to get back on the map of relevance.

This screams of mid life crisis/mental breakdown because for the first time in his career, there's doubt as to whether he's up to scratch. And he knows it, and those doubts are probably sliding into his own head. But the type of personality that is, he will never, ever except that he might have a problem. No. He'll find blame in anything and anyone around him. It's toxic af and unhealthy.

This is deliberate. Neither Ronaldo nor his agent are stupid, they know the feelings of the fanbase and they are exploiting it for their own gain.

Despite what he said was true, if he truly had the best interest of the club in mind he wouldn't have gone off and done a controversial interview with fecking Piers Morgan of all people.

Barcelona, Atleti, PSG, Chelsea, Sporting. Anyone of those will do

I'd even sell him to Liverpool. That'll be the perfect heel move. Like Hulk Hogan joining the NWO. And just like Hulk, completely in line with Ronaldo's character, in hindsight.

Of course - which is basically my point. I’m really struggling to see what he gains from this given the content that’s coming out. Which leads me to conclude he’s a badly advised lunatic

He's not in the same galaxy of weird. I guess the thought comes because he's had a child with a woman who was perhaps paid off not to be in the child's life (which is well strange).

Giving all the power to the sports department would be great if they fecking hired competent people. Oh and the irony of CR7 talking about marketing - no shit - your agent spent all summer selling you by doing presentations on your marketing appeal

He's an absolute embarrassment.

And that bit about his behavior during the Munich disaster press event truly symbolizes the kind of person he is.

Bruno looks to have said something while Cristiano welcomed him with a handshake, Cristiano looked a bit miffed....(Doesn't allow me to post a video being a newbie)

I'd love if someone asked Rio or Sourness what it is exactly they're asking for?

Even if you accept their ridiculous invention as true, that Eric and Ronaldo had a conversation during the summer and he was promised to start and play every minute. Are they suggesting that this is what should be happening now, regardless of his performances?

Surely nobody can possibly believe that a coach gave a fella pushing 40, an explicit promise that he would play every single minute after not completing a preseason?

Even coming back half cooked, how can anybody say Ten Hag hasn't backed him and given him opportunities? He was given 37 minutes in the first game and did nothing - 90 minutes in the second game and did less. They dropped him to the bench for the next game and the team beat Liverpool without him. Gave him a quarter or more for the next 3 games, brining him on while the team were winning against Southampton, Leicester and Arsenal, and each time he contributed nothing again.

Then he gets dropped for refusing to come on as a sub, for one game - when any other player in the squad would've been dropped for months if not for good. Gets brought in for games against West Ham and Villa but contributes nothing again.

Souness I can understand I guess. He doesn't want United to do well so obviously it suits him for us to be playing someone up front who clearly and demonstrably results in us dropping points. But what the hell are guys like Ferdinand and Keane actually asking for?

Now he's lavishing praise on Rio and Keane because they're defending him.

It's comically childish at this point.

The going against the Glazers is self-serving. He knows the mat h going fans will keep singing Viva Ronaldo if he says this.

Piers Morgan is smart planting those leading stirring the pot questions to make out Ronaldo to be some kind of victim of Manchester United. You know the club who actually help make him the player he is.

The interview is so distasteful on multiple levels. Anyone siding with this snake is an enemy of the club in my book

The club being a marketing behemoth is how they can afford his massive wage and they managed to be one of the most illustrious club in the world, that reality is from the Edwards family. It really does my head in when fans are dumb enough to accept that kind of moronic quotes from journalists and now apparently the players benefitting from it.
