One of the biggest footballers in the World just went nuclear on the club & manager. What did you expect?
Most of your messages are defending the decision makers at the club which by extension includes the owners. They’re either shit owners who should be called out or you think they are doing a reasonable to good job, which one is it?

I do think a lot of fans in here have a fragile ego and he was definitely made a scapegoat by a tangible portion of the fanbase and media. I initially thought it was a bad move for him but then as the season went on I thought he was doing better than I had expected. Anyway now it's prettt obvious it was a bad move for both parts but I don't think he's as egoistical as people make out of him, otherwise he would had ended at City were it would be easier for him to continue padding his stats.
I still stand by my belief that City never wanted him and it was never an option for him. It was a fictional story made to force us to action.

Yes and one has been at the tip top level of the sport for 18 years with not even a blemish on his character or with any proof that he would flat out lie while the other has been around for 5 years.

I wonder whose resume on self righteousness or truth holds more value
Ten Hag hasn’t been around for 5 years. Come off it.

You’re just blindly believing everything you want to believe now.

I’m a big Ronaldo fan but he’s upset me doing this to the club. I can’t defend him.

So we are supposed to lie and state that there has been no change in the clubs facilities since 2009 just because we think that the owners are bad?

I think Ronaldo is hoping naive as feck fans believe his concern is about the state of the club, rather than himself and solely himself. The training facilities were the same last Summer, why not instantly say they need upgrading etc? Why wait until you’ve become a bench player?

I think the owners have made some horrendous decisions, but I can’t lie when I see Ronaldo spouting untruths just because I think they’ve done a shite job as owners.

Hopefully this whole episode is a harsh lesson to the higher ups who seem insistent on holding onto players who want to leave until the situation becomes untenable.

If anybody tries to tell me we wanted Ronaldo to go in the summer but he couldnt find a club, I wouldn't believe it purely based on our track record with the likes of Pogba, Lingard, Henderson, etc.
Are you suggesting that we should allow unilateral termination of contracts?

Given he referred to himself as a slave to force a move, has been involved in three dressing rooms that fell apart, and not to mention one night in Vegas, he certainly does have blemishes on his record.

No I actually agree that he can not be the focal point of a team anymore and in fact I think it’s time to drop down a level and come back to Portugal and win stuff here. So as you can see this has nothing to do with what where I believe his level is at.

Portugal fans won’t turn on him especially. He has done more for this country then anybody else they can’t repay that debt to him.
That's true. However, football fans are fickle a guy can't become a dictator just because of past achievements. The reason why he's crying to the media is because he still believes in his head that he's the best player in the world and should start every game and be the focal point at every team. His ego is huge and he won't take a backseat this world cup either and it will be the reason that you won't win the world cup despite the wealth of talent in your team. If he decides to stay till euro 2024 still expecting to start it will become toxic with Portugal fans as well no matter what he did for you before. I know for a fact there are fans in Portugal that don't want Ronaldo starting at the world cup, that's how it started here, it started a minority and ended in flames....

This is exactly the stuff that make me laugh.

The City rumor is fictional (even though many had it all but done).

However rumored that, AC Milan , Barcelona, Spartak, Napoli, Sporting all rejected him are completely true.

Only two rumors had any truth or foundation and that is Chelsea and Bayern.

Yet the whole forum says “all of Europe declined him”

“Ohh but City wanting him is fake news”

??????

United fans defending him over Erik are embarrassing, the man begged to leave in 09 throwing hissy fits.

Laughable take especially when Messi publicly quit on his country.

Compared to a guy who just lost a child and who knows the state of health of his 3 month old who was in the hospital shortly after and the possible lack their off compassion from a new boss.
Messi is still a better player despite all these copium you are consuming

The overwhelming reason Portugal won’t win the World Cup is because we have one of the worst coaches in the tournament who barely had us qualify despite our wealth of talent.

Of course.

The fans are upset for him saying the truth or hurting their feelings so Now it’s “ohh he’s this and that so of course he would do this”

No basis behind it at all. What he’s said in the little of the interview we’re all correct.

If people believe he sprinkled a lie about the ETH part then wake up. No matter what he’s enemy number 1 now so even if he’s correct which he probably is he will still be wrong to the fans.
He cannot come to terms with the fact he doesn't have it anymore, for someone that has such a drive to win and to be right up there as the best player in the last decade to suddenly be lower on the pecking order especially for a Utd side with a relatively poor attack statistically.
It happens to everyone, if he had acted like this under Fergie do you think he'd be made fecking captain after all the drama?

He'd be rotting in the reserves, he's literally had more fouls than shots in his last run of games..

The interview and timing of it seems like he is absolutely trying to orchestrate a contract termination (as oppose to trying to force internal improvements or anything). I'd love to properly punish him by not granting him freedom from his slavery - put him in the reserves and fine him 2 weeks wages every 2 weeks.

Situation isn't really salvageable anymore. If he hadn't said he doesnt respect EtH it might be, but that is something you can't really come back from.

If you play Ronaldo up top then you won't win the WC.

You should really tone down the ridiculous bias. We get it, he's your nation's hero.

I'm sorry but he's also a massive cnut, always has been.

Apart from some rape allegations in the US for which he paid $375k in hush money, but carry on.

I'm sure Ten Hag has only been around for 5 years if you say so
