Definitely PSG. An easy league title and a crack at the CL.

With United, it'd be a possible top 4 and a crack at the EL.

If we do get him back then that's then Pogba's never stepping into the starting XI again. Can't have 2 players on the field who switch on only when we are attacking, especially in the current PL.

How long is this guy going to play for? I mean he's definitely declined from the player he once was but I could honestly see him in his 40's still at a top level club. Age is completely irrelevant to him. Absolute freak.
If you want a pure goalscorer then Ronnie will hold his own against any player in the world at 40, I’ve no doubt about that.

His movement is still there and he’s quick enough to get into positions so long as the service is there (hint: Bruno)

Make it happen.

0% he will consider coming back. At this stage of his career, he just want guarantee trophy every season, and chances to break all time goalscoring record.
If not Juventus, he can do it in PSG.

According to who? There's no way we pay each of them 120,000 a week

2019/2020 according to https://manchesterunitedlatestnews.com/manchester-united-players-wages/

David De GeaGK29£19,500,000£375,000

Luke ShawD25£7,800,000£150,000
Frederico de Paula SantosM27£6,240,000£120,000
Victor LindelofD26£6,240,000£120,000
Nemanja MaticM32£6,240,000£120,000
Odion IghaloF31£5,240,000£100,000
Aaron Wan-BissakaD22£4,680,000£90,000
Eric BaillyD26£4,160,000£80,000
Marcos RojoD30£4,160,000£80,000
Phil JonesD28£3,900,000£75,000
Jesse LingardF27£3,900,000£75,000
Sergio RomeroGK33£3,640,000£70,000
Edinson CavaniF33£9,640,000£210,000
Lee GrantGK37£1,560,000£30,000
Bruno FernandesM25£7,800,000£150,000
Donny van de BeekM23£5,500,000£110,000
Timothy Fosu-MensahD22£780,000£15,000
Scott McTominayM23£520,000£10,000
Daniel JamesF22£2,040,000£42,000
Axel TuanzebeD22
Bruno FernandesM25£7,800,000£150,000

If the above is true then those players work out to about £470,000/530,000ish Euro a week.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...tars-wages-REVEALED-Jesse-Lingard-s-deal.html

According to this(I know its the Mail) Lingards deal is a base 75 grand that moves up to 100 grand if we get champions league(which we have).

https://talksport.com/football/5627...Juan Mata took a significant, pay cut to do so.

According to this Mata took a huge pay cut to stay with us. Dropping from 180 grand down to 135 grand. This one also says that Jones is on 120 grand a week, and as far as I can tell thats with the 25% pay cut for no CL.

The numbers are all over the place depending on who your source is. But Id go out on a limb and say 600,000 euro probably isnt that far fetched.

I know this was 2019 Before his new contract - but McTominay on 10K a week ? Considering he broke into our first-team in 2017/18 - i doubt he played 2.5 seasons on £10K a week - we probaby have reserve-players making twice as much

Who said they get the same salary? This is according to MEN.

Apparently Rojo and Bailly is on £80k/week.
Lingard and Jones on £75k/week. Mata on £160k.

That combined is around €540k/week. And this basic salary mate. If we reach CL (which we did) You have to calculate 10-15% extra. So around €600k/week

I would definately terminate or shift them out if it means Ronaldo come for a good 2-3 seasons.

This tweet was posted 11 minutes before that tweet which got you all unziping your pants. Don't do this to yourself, it is just time for new contract at Juve, he has been doing that since he left, and it is a reason, one of, why I don't like him.
NOOOO you french bastards!!!!!

Good post.

Its not a financial issue. Its simply down to whether he's amenable towards returning.

Yeah that's fair enough - but as good as Ronaldo can be i'm just not sure it's a wise invesment long term.

As you say though he would probably be more useless for us in the short term than 4/5 of those listed.

I think in the current climate we'd be better off just cleaning the wage bill up and being in a better financial position to go again once finances return to normal.

The mirror has him at 10 grand a week as well https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/every-man-utd-players-2019-20938173

But 90min has him getting his wages doubled to 60 grand a week.

https://www.90min.com/posts/6514029...ominay-s-wages-tie-him-to-new-5-year-contract

Like I said, it all depends who you ask. The source seems to be Spotrac. And they now have him on 20 grand a week.

Amazing how he's been able to still be as leathal as he is. His stats are still "penalty inflated" though.
14 his 37 league goals this and last season are from the penalty spot. 23 goals from 37 matches from open play and freekicks is still pretty good though. 140 minutes/goal from open play.

Comparing to the three most prolific strikers in the top 5 leagues in the same period:
Lewandowski has scored 45 league goals this season and the last in the same amount of games (37). 7 of them from the spot. 85 minutes/goal from open play.
Haaland has scored 19 league goals for Dortmund since he joined in January in 21 games. Only one from the spot (has never missed a penalty in his career). 85 minutes/goal from open play.
Mbappe has scored 25 league goals for PSG in the same period (26 games). 2 of them from the spot. 85 minutes/goal from open play.

I think it is safe to say that Ronaldo is fantastic, but is not the most prolific striker out there right now. Massive qudos to him for still being relevant in the discussion! Still good enough to play first fiddle here and should definitely bench Martial if he returned here.
He scored 48 goals in all competitions for clubs and country last season though. If that doesn't convince you, he also scored 6 goals in 4 serie A games this season so far, plus 2 goals in 3 games for Portugal. So in past 1 year or so, to be exact since August last year and up to now, he scored around 56 goals in 61 games in all competitions for clubs and country. And that's his most recent year form, as a player who is approaching 36.

I mean, there's not many players in the world right now who managed to score 56 goals in his past 61 games.

You’re forgetting his team hardly create chances too. If he played at a club like Bayern, he would likely put up similar if not better numbers than Lewandowski.

This bollocks again? He's blatantly not coming back to us. I'm sure I've posted this at least 2 other times in this thread alone.

If given a chance, I would take Messi over Ronaldo. Even though I love Ronaldo for obvious reasons and not like Messi (not that I hate him) due to those Champions league finals, I would love Messi to United.

Messi provides more to the team than Ronaldo at this stage of their career.

Just imagine when history says worlds two best players played for Manchester United at some point in time, this would be fantastic.

Its Ronaldo. And we would win trophies if he came back, which makes the money irrelevant.
Because of 1 player? He's not the same player he used to be when he left. He can barely even dribble past a man in Serie A which is more slow tempo wise compared to EPL

Well I guess - but he got his new contract this spring was it ? A first-team players at 22-23 years old earning 10K a week at United ? Nah - don't believe it :)

Would be a dream to have him for a couple of seasons. Can score goals for fun and is an amazing professional.
He'll be what Zlatan was like here and more.
God I’d still take him back in a heartbeat, what a player. The reality is though, these rumours happen every year and there’s nothing in them. Funnily enough though, I actually think we now have a team that could accommodate him pretty well. Imagine an attack of

Rashford/Martial—Ronaldo—Greenwood
He'll get us 30 goals minimum, think about that.

We've wasted far more money on worse players.
He will still be one of the best strikers in the world the next 2 or 3 years...just saying.
Logical Me
Unless he is free and a takes a huge pay cut then no thanks. Zlatan worked because he is 7 ft tall powerhouse who is also very good handling the ball from deep and playing at a slow pace, but yet you aren't going to conquer the world with either 35 year old as your main attacker unfortunately. United need to save cap space for younger guys like Haaland who has been more prolific in the champions league.

Agree 100 %. We absolutely shouldnt do it, we shouldnt even think about it, its ridculous. You would need to be seriously out of your mind to even consider it.

Thats why....lets do it!!! Ronnie is coming home!!!
Emotional Me
In spite of everything I just typed, feck it, lets bring him home.

I agree. What would be the point of signing him besides sentimental value and him getting even richer? He alone wouldn’t make United challenge for the title and would therefore be a bridge striker on absolutely insane wages.
Everything you have said is spot on logically. But on an emotional level, if the boy wants to come home, it would be immoral to not let the boy come home.

Sorry guys, but we cannot sign a 36 year old with a biggerthantheclub/God complex on 700k a week. I love Ronnie, but this just can't happen!
We would have to sell Rashford and Martial as they earn 400k plus. Maybe Pogba too. It makes so little sense that it might just work!

He’s on £540,000 a week at Juventus! Not worth it now.
Don’t make the same mistake you made with Pogba!
